HI, i bought an tv out cable yesterday and i didn't thin that will it work on my device, so i'd like to know if you guys have any experience.
Sorry for my english =}
tv out? what? what kinda of cable? micro usb to tv?
Please report if it will work, thanks
tv-out
i mean an rca cable, red, yellow, white. Its plugged into the 3,5mm port
i think i will receive it tomorrow so i will report if it works
the galaxy 3.5mm jack is only for sound.
you cant get any video from it.
if you connect it to your tv only sound will be heard.
i dont really know if micro usb to tv out works but i seriously doubt that it does.
there is a micro hdmi port for tv out on some phones or some other proprietary port.

there is just one option - if your TV set playes avi / divx / movie files from USB port, then you can use your mobile as a USB drive. That's all. No TV mirroring.
there is no tv out option in our galaxy 3..... it will work only if the hardware supports...... so waste of trying that.....
dommage is
No TV out
Galaxy 3 doesn't have a TV out.

buy a tv samsung and use DLNA service i have one and SG3 + router + tv ([email protected] wireless) and everything works very very well
I have movies on your computer and share across the home network with the program for samsung, I can watch the movies on TV and in sg3, can also control the sg3 the movies I see on TV, very good and practical, when I talk about movies, I speak of pictures too of course
Without even looking or thinking, I can say that no, It's not possible to get a TV out signal from SG3
it could be a nice feature but i think it doesn't work.
not possible but can use Samsung's All Share or similar app for streaming media right?
rca on one end and 3.5mm jack with 4 contacts on the other is for sound only. white + red is for left + right channel output and yellow would be for microphone IN (just like your headphones that came with SG3). NO VIDEO OUTPUT FOR SURE!
what's your report???
I know you can get a HDMI to micro usb but I do not have any other means of connecting (my TV is fairly old)
Is there any other way of connecting?
Wi-Fi -> AllShare Play - if you have an Allshare capable Samsung TV.
If only HDMI port available then go for the Allshare cast Dongle.

I bought one of these: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0080KN18K/ and it works fine. Picture quality is obviously degraded, but it looks as good as can be expected with the signal. I use it in my car along with the Samsung MHL adapter.

just curious, does this device have a delay in regards to the video?

Not that I can tell. Then again, I'm using it on a really low quality screen in my vehicle rather than a true TV/monitor.
Dropped in to tell the op what to look for, instead found a link to exactly what is needed. Thanks!
I have an a/v modulator to send the signal through coax as some of the hotel tv's i'm confronted with don't even have rca jacks, but it won't take an hdmi input. So from this thing to that thing I can patch modern tech backwards to the stone age and use it.
XDA wins again.
[Q] Will an iMito MX2 wirelessly "stream" pix and video on my S3 to my non-DLNA TV?
Will an iMito MX2 wirelessly "stream" (show) pix and video already on my S3 to my non-DLNA TV thru the MX2 to the HDMI in port?
I understand it is supposed to be able to stream NetFlix or (with a mod) Hulu from the internet thru a wifi connection but I just want to show pictures or videos already on my phone to my TV without having to use an MHL cable.
I am leery of Samsung stuff like the AllShare Cast hub. Samsung stuff seems to be proprietary and Samsung seems to constantly change their stuff so it will not run on new models (the 5/11 pin MHL S2 cable not working on the S3 is a case in point, although I guess it boosts Samsung aftermarket sales. Additionally there are threads that the AllShare hub is not playing nice with JB.
I have ordered an MX2 for $50 but it is on the slow boat from China.
The MX2 is an android stick that runs on JB. I think I may have to install FoxFi on it and ArkMC on my S3.
So, how is it going with streaming?
I'm interested in this as well. Also interested in the other way around, ie, from the PC to the imito. The imito is connected wirelessly to a wifi extender, which in turn is connected to the wifi itself. I'm pretty sure it can be done, I just don't have the slightest idea about networks...
Hello All,
I was wondering is there a way to make use of this old Atrix Webtop that I have?
Is there a way to possibly make the keyboard and mouse work and use it to HDMI mirror to it some how?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I am using my old keyboard and mouse from the Atrix and it works great. Samsung has a multimedia dock with mini HDMI out and 3.5mm audio out for $49.99 and they are offering 50% off codes via their facebook page for all accessories. This is the main reason most of the accessories are out of stock on their site.
Samsung Galaxy Universal Multimedia Desktop Dock
There is also the allshare receiver and smart dock on the website but those are $99 each before the discount.
Hi,
I have tested Z1C with both Miracast dongle and MHL cable.
MHL cable is so called 5 PIN cable. The same one that works with Galaxy S2 and HTC One X.
MHL Cable works just fine.
I have also tested Miracast dongle (iPazzport). It connects slowly in Miracast mode. Screen and sound gets transferred to TV very slowly. It is basically unusable. The same dongle works just fine with Asus HD7 tablet.
DLNA mode is not usable either for video. At least not for HD content. It can be used for sound transfer. But it has minor problems also with sound only connections. I have tested with the same iPazzport HDMI dongle and WD HDTV Live box.
Please share your experience.

There is definitely some lag with MHL. I can only express my gut feeling. 50-100 ms, I guess. Is there any good way to measure it?
I am using this adapter:
www.ebay.com/itm/310855110310
I ordered http://www.amazon.com/Decrescent-Adapter-Samsung-Galaxy-Smartphones/dp/B00I5J6WVY
but it will take 2 weeks more to come.
I plan to order the PS3 controller too for gaming on screen, but not sure how it will be with the lag. also not sure if these cheap ps3 controllers will work or i need the original ps3 controller. for wireless of course, not planing to use wired controllers. maybe xbox wireless can work too. testing to come.
For measuring it, the best method is to start the stopwatch and record the TV and the phone's screen with some point and shoot camera, just stop the video later after 10 seconds for example and see the difference between the times.
at least thats what i read around the net ..
MHL lag.
First, tested using timer app in phone. Took pictures containing both mobile and plasma screen.
Out of 13 shots:
0.1 s delay - 9 times
0.2 s delay - 2 times
All the rest, 1 shot had 0.1-0.3 s delay (between TV frames), another had 0 - 0.2 s delay (between TV frames again).
Second test.Used http://vimeo.com/12505989 test video.
My laptop (connected through display port->HDMI) was 100% in sync. Z1C was 2-3 frames late (on 24 fps video).
I would say, it is about 120 ms delay. And it is huge for a cable connection IMHO.
Shame, Sony, shame!!!
My other phone Galaxy S Advance did much better job with DLNA sharing.
Which means that there must be a problem with WiFi (either HW or SW).
I am really disappointed. Way too many problems with a device that was meant to be almost a flagship. I wonder if all those problems also exist with Z1 older brother as well. Or did Sony cut some corners again...
Anyone who could explain why it's necessary to switch wifi off then on again when you activate media sharing (DLNA)?
Say you sit at home, your wifi is on ofc and you like to send a pic or a track to your AVR or TV, then why does it say "please turn on wifi" when you activate media sharing...

How about mirror op sender?
Has anyone tried mirror op sender & mirror op presenter on the xperia z1 compact? Seems rather fast just no audio.
Hi. Should it work with any device that has a HDMI input or it has to be with MHL support. Bought Mhl cable from eBay, phone opens Tv launcher but Nothing comes on TV.

Hi All.
I've got a passive mhl cable (no external power needed), this: http://www.delock.de/produkte/G_83297/merkmale.html?setLanguage=un
What should I do with it to use with my Z1C? I connected them, but nothing on the tv screen . I missed something?
