Ok guys, so i got my replacement siedio 3800, and after charging it initially for 12hrs, after I got it. The battery issue is still here. When the phone is not on, or standby, it is fine, however while using it, the % ofbattery life just keeps dropping, 1% every 2minutes about I timed it and averaged it. I checked GSAM 29.5% is used by apps, i have only 3g enabled, no wifi, bt, or gps. Plz help me get this fixed, same problem was with the Razr maxx. I am using Bamf JB rom. About to throw the stupid phone lol!
And i do have full 3g/4g, but only 3g enabled, with good signal strength
if you're saying it happens on your maxx as well... you have a app burning your battery
Find the app
Delete non essential apps

how do i find it? i am stock bamf jb , with gapps, thats all, and under battery, no apps are burning a lot, web browser was 6% was the most. and GSAM said only 29.5% of battery was apps
could it be google talk, or aim? i usually exit out of both when done. But google services is always on in running apps, but didnt want to disable, wasnt sure if that was for gmail. auto sync is off

What do you mean stock BAMF? BAMF is custom ROM and rooted... If you ARE rooted, easy. Download betterbatterystat from Play Store and see which app drains the battery the most.
is gsam the same type of app? It says apps are using 29.5% and browser is highest at 8%. I really dont want to pay $3 for the betterbatterystats

then go back to stock. if the problems happens on stock WITH NO APPS, then you have a bad battery.
if it doesnt happen, you have a crappy app somewhere.

If you don't wanna pay, you can still download it from xda. The dev offers the app for free for xda users.

I had the same issue on BAMF. I could still pull out about 2 hours screen time on my 2100mAh battery but while the screen was on I could watch the percent drop.
Allons-y
How did you fix the issue? Also I disabled all extra apps so we will see. Otherwise does someone have a link to stock ROM image? Or another trick and tip

Hello. That is why people invented .apk files. Just download a .apk file. It is what everyone does.
Galaxy Nexus-codenameandroid rom
usually bad/rogue apps wont show up on those battery apps. I remember i restored app settings/etc for dolphin from 2.3 to ics and that was the cause. Removing data/cache and the app itself removed the battery drain.
Do a binary search of apps (install half of them, if it drains then the culprit is in that half, if not in the other half, etc etc).
Try to disable as much syncing as you can, and definitely disable instant upload.
Betterbatterystats apk from the thread that deeren linked to. cpuspy might also help.
imo you should perform a reset and start over.....its faster

Not everyone is self entitled enough to screw over some hard working devs, so your generalization justifying it is patently false.
Regardless, piracy and warez aren't welcome here. It's a quick and easy way to find yourself under the banhammer.

I didn't.
Use WiFi when you can it what helps me. I am now on Affinity ROM and got 21.5 hours with 2 hours 45 minutes screen time. With the 2100 mAh battery. I am using the Glados kernel it came with and no tweaks to it.

Trying to track down a rogue application is hard work, do it only if you feel like you're up for it.
Apps with good reviews and comments don't usually cause such a problem but checking per app reviews/ratings will take you, I don't know, maybe till you grow old.
Best thing to do is to reset everything and start light, with only a few apps, then install another batch of apps if there is no problem with installation of previous batch, this way you can find the culprit.
Good luck.
OK well I am back to 100% stock like suggested and charged my battery 10-100% overnight. Still losing lots of battery. 13minutes cut me to 94%. So it was the rom after 3hrs of getting back to stock. This is also my second siedio 3800 battery. What's next?

Wait, are you talking about battery drain while screen is on? If that's the case 1% ever 2 minutes isnt that bad
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus
Okay, so I am getting pretty bad battery drain whenever I use my phone. The phone goes into deep sleep just fine, and wakelocks don't seem to be an issue. Whenever I use any app though, the battery drains very quickly. Now obviously using the device will make the battery drain faster than it would when it's asleep, but I'm talking about losing 2-3% with only playing 2 minutes of Scrabble or checking a news feed for less than 3 minutes. My screen is on half brightness, but it's only been a week since this has really been noticeable.
I'm not sure if my battery is getting worse or something (although I try to not overcharge it and let it get to around 50% which I don't see why that would be an issue) or this is just an illusion and it's been happening the whole time.
Has anyone found any solutions or ideas to help conserve battery?
I'm stock, nonrooted, running the latest update. I never have any sync or push notifications active. I keep NFC on but I've had that on since day 1 and didn't seem to be an issue before. I restrict background data for the Play Store (tried that yesterday but didn't seem to help much), brightness is always around halfway, and I am using JuiceDefender pro. I have the Amazon App Store installed which I've considered to be an issue, but haven't seen many people complain about it recently and it doesn't seem to report anything on BetterBatteryStats.
Bump? =\
I've been experiencing the same problem as you recently. I'm going to backup and format EVERYTHING and odin back to stock and see if that'll help.
I have a feeling it has something to do with my SD card.

Hmm I didn't think of that. I have an SD card as well but I've had it for quite a while so I'm not positive if that's causing it.
Tell me if ODINing it back to stock actually does something. I believe that the battery itself may be causing the issues though, but I'm not sure.
...So there's only one other person which these issues? What am I doing wrong?
I hate to keep bumping this thread but I am literally only getting 3 hours of screen on time when I'm on airplane mode and am at 20% brightness.

For the moment, my battery seems to be doing better. The only reason I wiped out my SD card was because my phone started getting hot at the bottom when listening to music from my 32GB SD card, so I thought it was some sort of corrupt file my phone kept trying to read and drained the battery

My battery last me a little over one hour on standard battery (original rom+root) and that's me even using lean kernel. I've seen on forum some people were able to get as much as four hours of their screen why is it with my phone I'm only about to do so little?
What's the best so to see what's going on with my phone, who eats my battery, which apps are doing something that they shouldn't.
It really is killing me, I want to be able to enjoy my phone longer.

to save power I completely switched over 3G (by turning off 4G (LTE))
on the top of that whenever I can I always switch WiFi on to switch to WiFi instead of 3G and whenever WiFi is not available I always turn it off.
and here is a kicker: I also use Ultimate Juice Defender (w/ pretty aggressive settings (turning data on only every 15 minutes)

Why is my battery "done" ? I blame Sandy as before that it was fine, I'd easily do close to 2h of Screen time (at least 1h30m), now after Sandy due to reception that I'm getting right now I think that's why I'm getting so little now..

Your awake / screen on ratio looks pretty nutty to me. Basically your phone was awake for 4 hours, and your screen was on for 1 hour. Titaniumbackup kept your phone awake for 38 minutes; why is that?
Sign out of any google services you don't use like Google Talk and / or Google+.
Turn off location services and only turn it on when you need to. It's easy to toggle this by placing a Location services shortcut on your homescreen. This, for me, has had the largest impact on my idle battery usage. With location on, batt would drain around 2 to 3% per hour. Now it takes 3 hours idle to take the battery down 2%.

I think Titanium Backup was doing backup and then uploading it to Dropbox (happens once or twice a week at night)
Google Talk and/or Google+ is closed (and even cleared from recent task upon completion of using them)
location service I use, I'm sharing my location with some other people, but i'll give that a shot to test it.

I really am close to killing myself due to sadness and disappointment because of my phone's battery life. lol. I have a Galaxy Note 2(4.1.1 ver) and my battery lasts for 12-16 hours. I use it mostly for Facebook, Google, Viber and YouTube. I have other typical social networking/comm apps (YM,Skype, Instagram,Twitter) but I dont use them often. I have less than 10 games (Temple Run2, Angry Birds, Diamond Dash) but I dont play for more than 15 mins. I have observed that when my phone is NOT in use, it decreases by 7-10% per hour (sometimes 1% per minute on idle) during the day. At night, before I go to sleep, it is a fully charged phone and when I wake up, 25% of the battery's life is gone within 8hrs of not touching it even to check the time. I dont know if its the normal draining rate of the battery, if its a factory defect on the battery or the phone itself, or if it is the app or android system. They say you need to turn off the location or something but I couldn't seem to find it. My phone is just 4 days old, or maybe 5. Im hoping when the phone turns a week old, things will be better. Or should I try to kill myself now? Any possible solutions???
PS. Please try to use "simple" instructions or terms. I really am not good about technology.
Update to the latest firmware.. and then do a factory reset.. do take up back up before doing the factory reset. what is your screen time? post screen shots of your battery stats.. and committing suicide is not going to solve your problem.. but still remarkable that someone considers this over battery woes..
please say to us which apps are you using because there are lots of draining apps. sqich off gps brightness at the minimum values and so on if you haven't done it yet
hope it worked to you

It doesn't say much, I mean are you playing games such as need for speed or similars? is you brightness at maximum? I use the battery saving feature of the phone and I have to say that there is no difference in performance but there is in the battery I mean it last a more than in "normal" mode. if you already tried it at it still has that draining do full wipe and flash a new rom.
Hope it was useful

Good Lord! You wanna suicide for some ****in phone's ****in battery life? Come on man. This is a simple gadget, not your child or family. Use it heavy, have fun recharge it, throw it when you are done, then use it when you in need again.
Anyway, I think you are using 3G, turn it off if you don't need it, you'll notice massive battery life increase, but if you can't disable it then I will say get used with that.
There are two simple things,
With 3G- Moderate battery life. You CAN NOT do anything to increase it.
With 2G- Solid battery life.
PS: IMO, 4.1.2 has even bad backup.

You must have high expectations, 12-16 hours for a charge isn't that bad, especially if you're actually using your phone a decent amount. You won't be getting a week's worth of battery at a time.

Also, check the built-in process manager: Long-press the home button and click the pie chart. Switch to the first tab.
Is there an app where the CPU percentage changes even though the app should be sleeping and steady at 0.00%? I see that quite frequently. Mostly by the stock browser and the XDA premium app. Thats how I found the worst ones

Any other g2 users having major battery issues? Sprint g2, some apps and bloatware frozen/removed. Rooted as well. Battery dropped 38 percent in 4 hours with little to no use. Location services are off. Shows that android operating system using around 40 percent. Any idea of what is causing this? So far, not loving the update and the issues its having.
Absolutely not... Quite the opposite. I'm on a custom ROM but I used ZV7 ZV8 & ZVA before with no issues. That's one great thing about the G2 is the Snap Dragon processors are great on the battery, a charge lasts a long time and the battery never gets hot even with constant tethering and heavy usage. You should try the Snap Dragon battery guru app in the play store at: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xiam.snapdragon.app which is great for saving juice. Or takes a couple days to get full effect cause it learns your patterns and stops apps from refreshing during times when you don't use them, cuts of WiFi and or data during times when you aren't using it. Also I'd check your battery usage stats and see what processes are draining it the most. Is most likely an app or 2 draining a lot of your battery, so the battery guru will stop that from happening during times that you don't use those apps.

Its very common after a firmware update for a battery to go outta whack. It may be that you need to recalibrate it. After any firmware update its adviseable to so a factory reset at 100% battery level. Then use your phone normally till the battery dies and phone shuts down. Plug in the phone and let it charge to 100% while off. Turn it on, and use it till the batt dies again. Repeat charging to 100% with phone off.
That may solve your issue. Fully cycle the battery 2x.

Thank you @bigpoppa and @sudosurootdev I will try both suggestions. I've got snapdragon app downloaded now. Haven't did a full cycle charge on it yet though. Normally had great battery life, even on aosp roms. Could be that I am just impatient too though haha.
Battery life is greatly affected by weak signals. It drives up the power to get you signal

I got the ZVC OTA, then I flashed the zvc .tot after accidently deleting supporting services for voice mail (Skyfire Observer and Sprint Extension provider) after flashing Im at 7hrs 30mins Screen Time surfing web with 15% battery left on first day, before that I got little over 6hrs with 0% battery and all the same apps. Do a factory reset after OTA that might help or flash the ZVC.tot for a complete fresh install like I did.
Just an FYI Swype connect is a known battery killer for some its mentioned on their forums and it sometimes runs even when all connect features are blocked.
Another thing block location services when not needed it will save a nice amount of battery life.

The only issue I've seen is Bluetooth showing up under battery stats as being used at around 50-55% yesterday with a runtime of over a day. I'm thinking its just a reporting bug since I haven't used Bluetooth at all and I don't see a noticeable drop in battery but if it is using it I'd definitely like to curb it.
anyone with a similar issue or possible idea on fixing it? Running stock zvc unrooted

That's weird, never had that happen to me. Did you Factory reset after OTA? Sometimes that helps.

Do you have location settings and google now enabled?

I get 7.5 hrs and 15% battery left at 50% Brightness, location and autosync drain battery a lot as I mentioned before. Also use task manager to autoblock Sprint apps and uncheck Sprint Connections Optimizer it eats battery, Lastly Swype connect runs even when online features are disabled and eats battery, there are many complaints about that on Swype forum as well.
Im mostly on WiFI and have full signal due to Airave (no LTE) so I guess that helps too. All those things add up, I'm sure you can achieve that screen time as well.
By factory reset, do you guys mean in settings? I need to reset, but I don't have a computer at the moment so I can't reflash tot.
