Just wondering if there is any fully working custom kernels for our JB since it is honestly just a small step away from being perfect.
There is already only have some problems.
1. Forvivo's JB kernel : problem on storage mode.
2. CastagnaIT ported by Forvivo kernel :
a.problem can't use wifi and usb
b.deep sleep causes sleep to death
3. Blackmambaz kernel : user's say that both BFC and CFS version didn't make wifi works (i haven't try it though)
Beside all of this problem no. 1 and 2 of works fine, the costume governors works flawlessly
That is all my opinion after using it CMIIW. You can try it yourself and give the feedback though. Hope this answer your question.
If you are looking for stable kernel i think the most stable kernel yet is arco's kernel although it is not costum
Pressing "Thanks" button will be much appreciated if user's posts useful for you

Is there a changelog available somewhere?
Btw, I too noticed one small issue with smartass2. Maybe it's the same as the one you found?
When playing music, I noticed a fair amount of skipping when the screen switches off. I initially thought it was the player, the dsp manager, etc. Finally, I came to the conclusion that the governor was the issue. Using CPUSpy, I found smartass2 scaled the cpu to 320MHz when playing music with the screen off. When I changed the minimum CPU speed to 400MHz, the skipping went away.
Was this the issue that you noticed or is this isolated to my phone?
Edit: Will try out your kernel and see if that issue persists. And test the kernel
Flashed the kernel. Doesn't seem to fix this particular issue. If you could somehow implement a fix for this particular issue, it woulde be great!
Will continue testing and let you know how it goes.
Just reporting, one thing I noticed is that 3 of my apps were broken after flashing the new kernel but reinstalling them brought them back to the original state.
new test kernel will be up soon i updated the cpu govenors and add a few more for users to test to see what should stay and what should be removed
quick q: will nightlys be available through rom manager update?
Accelerometer
Hi! Im testing your kernel right now, will post results later.
I have a slightly offtopic question but it's a kernel question.
I have myself a T-mobile Wildfire S wich uses a different hardware form the European Version, the only problem with it is that the accelrometer doesn't work with custom Roms (I've red Alquez said it's a kernel problem).
I wanted to ask you for any tips to star fixing it, I have programming and linux experience but I wouldn't know where to start. Any ideas?
Thanks again, keep up the good work!
does this works with any ROM or only with cm7 rom?

Also, do you recommend using a swap partition?
yes it includes the qualcomm hw3d acceleration
As new comer, so this stupid? question comes to general
Is it possible to make ultimate kernel that work on any ROM stage???
(GB, ICS, CM 10.1)
I mean that we can switch easilly between all ROM in SD card
Lupus has done with it, but miss CM10.1 one :silly:

Try including the ramdisks of each android version by extracting boot.imgs and then try. But the process is really hard and u may also need to prepare a new zImage...

Itcan be done but with various patches in ramdisk (but not everything woring 100%). I had a kernel on my PLAY for GB ICS and JB but compared to say a GB specific kernel or ICS specific kernel performance decreased.
So to anwser the OP's question. Yes its possible but using a specific kernel for that specific android is much better.

I could but WiFi wont work and not sure about anything else. I will not attempt to do anything like this without a mogami device without owning one. I was meant to be getting one soon but donator moved to a new device and unfortunately sold his old device to family member instead
Hard to hear those words but I'm happy with your kernels... Without owning mogami device you did tremendous job for us .. hands off

This kernel works only on sony firmware**NOT on CM10.1/10.2/11**
Guys is anyone interested in more optimisation (-O3 optimisation) of Doom Kernel. It might increase the performance of the phone
-O0 - Reduce compilation time and make debugging produce the expected results. This is the default.
-O3 - Optimize yet more. -O3 turns on all optimizations specified by -O2 and also turns on the -finline-functions, -funswitch-loops, -fpredictive-commoning, -fgcse-after-reload, -ftree-vectorize, -fvect-cost-model, -ftree-partial-pre and -fipa-cp-clone options.

also could you point me to what needs to be added in order to get double tap to wake, in the kernel?...would love to see this feature in cm11..got some time at my hands so i could learn

Thanks . I myself have been learning how things work and also thinking of making my own kernel for cm11 later (as many modifications to kernels like doom or meow would be bad and something Developers didn't want). I'll tell you after I look at the sources. BTW did you compile any kernel before?
If you guys want I can try doing that (DT2W)
Regarding the Kernel sources for 4.3 from Sony's previous releases it looks like they take a lot of time to release sources :/
Edit: Double tap to wake feature is here: https://github.com/DooMLoRD/android...083f9939ef4/include/linux/synaptics_i2c_rmi.h
We need to include that in CM11 sources and do the following changes: https://github.com/DooMLoRD/android...mmit/63edfc06cae1446295846a4197874083f9939ef4

To maximize the capabilities of kernels, flash:
UKM
install the Synapse app from the playstore,
and remove or disable Trickstermod, Faux control, or any in-ROM kernel control apps and settings.
there are some great AK and HD profiles on synapse for mako, which run well on gee too. check it here and here.
To import Synapse profiles
Download profile and save to the saved_profiles folder inside your Synapse folder.
Make sure you're using the latest UKM script
In Synapse, go to profiles
Select the profile, be sure to click the check mark on top and then select restore.
Restart Synapse
When it restarts, select the X, not the √.
Sometimes you have to restart synapaenagain to see updated CPU settings.

Trying out these kernels out on the latest AxxionKat had some... interesting results. Trying the latest Matr1x and MiRaGe both got me a black screen when I booted my phone though oddly enough I could still access my phone's data by plugging it in normally. With AK though I at least got an image though it was a massively distorted version of what the first time welcome screen should normally be. All clean flashes. Factory resetting didn't help either. I feel like I'm missing something obvious here. Any help?

Thanks. I had assumed that since I saw some CM cherry picks in your ROM that it was CM-based but I guess not. I guess having a few CM apps doesn't really mean anything. Thanks for clarifying that. AxxionKat is excellent by the way. Probably one of the best ROM experiences I've had on this phone.
