I believe I read somewhere it's the same LTE chip as that in the iPhone 5. Correct me if I'm wrong.

As the title says I have some questions:
What are the speed differences between AT&T's net work and T-Mobile's? I've read that T-Mobile doesn't have LE yet but it is coming in the near future.
Will my AT&T Note 2 be able to take advantage of T-Mobile's high speed network or do I need to switch to the T-Mobile verions? From what I've read it seems the AT&T one has all the radios to cover all the frequencies that T-Mobile uses so I should be good to go with the phone I have now but some confirmation would be nice.
Thanks.
T-Mobile's HSPA+ network is much faster than AT&T's. Of course there are examples where it isn't, but it's notably faster in most every market.
The AT&T version of the Note 2 only gets EDGE on T-Mobile. You want the T-Mobile T-889, unlocked, to have a true pentaband (with LTE) Note 2.

If I remember right, the att version can get hspa+21, while the tmobile version can go hspa+42.

The T-mobile version is also LTE ready when T-mobile rolls out there LTE network this year we will get an update for our T-mobile Note 2's that will enable the LTE radio.
I do feel that hspa is fast enough though. When I'm in a good coverage area, I get about 17 mbps down and 2 mbps up. I feel that is more then enough bandwidth.
So either way 4G or 4G LTE that they are slowly rolling out. I'm happy with T-mobile's network speeds.

The truth is it really differs all over. It depends who has better coverage in your area. Because what you're looking at from the carriers specs, that is max speeds your looking at. For example I have tmobile. The max speed I could get with hspa+42 is 42 mb download speed. But in reality I only get about 14-20 average. But my brother in law who lives right next door has at&t and he only gets around 5-10 averages. You should be able to find some kind of map from one carrier or the other that will give you an idea of who is going to give you the best coverage. Or find 2 of your friends who are in the same area 1 with tmo and 1 with at&t and ask them to run speed test with their phones.

Search "AWS MOD" to make your ATT note 2 i317 compatible with Tmobile 4G network.
My i317 gets about 14Mbps on Tmobile

Yeah, I've already decied to switch to T-Mobile this weekend. I did the AWS mod. Does that mean I'll have the LTE enabled when they roll it out or will I still only have HSPA speed? From the hardware specs on Wikipedia it looks like the AT&T version has all the radio bands that the T-Mobile one does.
Is this compatible with the T-Mobile LTE? They are much cheaper than the T-Mobile version and I know how to unlock the sim card slot also.

I have an ATT Note II running on TMobile. I had to go into a hidden menu to enable the correct radios for TMobiles networks. Seems to work fine with the stock ATT Rom.
However, I switched to Cyanogen, and my service was instantly broken. I'm still not sure exactly what caused this. I'll let you know if I figure anything more out.
I also bought an S4 before I got my note2 it was an ATT variant had to unlock it to use tmobile. Afterwards I had to enable AWS to get 4g even. Might be something to look into. Might be the hidden menu the person above me mentioned, Google enable aws on note2 att version or model number see what you get.
Any att note 2 on tmobile Service will prove to you in a short amount time that its a headache cause the same quality of 4g or Lte signal at any same given time or spot when compared to a actual t889 model is weaker then a t889.
Yes it works but trust me ive used 5 att notes...on tmobile ....the signal drops it goes 4g edge lte edge all the while with a t889 comparing them side by side at same time ...it just has a lot to do with how a tmobile t889 is fine tuned for there frequencys .
Even if u enable the aws bands on att Note 2 its still not as strong as using a carrier branded Note 2
Im sure some who read this will agree and know what I mean.

I had the verizon model first and although i would get data it was nothing like the T889 i have now .
I think I'll stop being cheap and add the extra $60 and get the T-Mobile version

How did you switch the radio one?
Hello, I just bought a Tab S 10.5 LTE version. I found out only now that the CPU varies between models, so now I wonder, will mine come with a Snapdragon or an Exynos?
It wasn't written on the description.
Use an app called cpuz to find out what chipset you have and everything about your device.
Yeah I will. But the thing is it will arrive in 3-4 days so the doubt is strong
I was just wondering whether 100% of LTE versions have the snapdragon.

If you bought LTE version, it will be snapdragon 100%. Exynos doesnt have LTE support.
Snapdragons is exclusive to u.s carriers

wrong, here in Sweden both WiFi and LTE uses Exynos 5420, with LTE support thanks to the Intel LTE chip.

All right thanks. That's a bummer :|
From what I've read the CDMA US carriers (vzw + Sprint) have snapdragons, the others have exynos.

Sorry for silly question,
I travel international sometimes so I like to have GSM phone.
Verizon was/is CDMA provider. What about the Verizon Note 4 now? Thinking of moving from ATT to Verizon ...
Thanks
It has 3 options:
1. Global
2. Cdma/lte
3.gsm/utms
It means 1 and 3 have no LTE?

It's factory unlocked out of the box you can use it anywhere you want as long as it's GSM and CDMA on Verizon.
Just make sure whatever country you visit you have the internet APN settings.
You will have LTE if carrier is using I think bands 13,4 for LTE I don't know the whole list which Note4 VZW supports.
one year ago I had the galaxy s4 I was in Poland and was using it on Orange PL I would get Hspa/HSPA+ max speed I saw was about 16 mbps in a city.
When I first got it it was on global and 4g was either limited or I didn't have anything I can't remember. So yea I think 1 and 3 mean no lte not entirely sure though
I'm not entirely sure either but while on Global my note 4 shows 4G/LTE in the status bar.
Hello!
I have an unlocked sprint note 4 which I use outside the USA as a GSM phone with a sim card.
So far so good.
The problem is that this phone being produced for sprint does not connect on 4G.
I have been reading about the possibility to change the NV values to be able to add LTE bands to the phone and I was able to change those values but still no luck.
In my country, the 4g network works mostly on bands 3 and 7 (1800 and 2600).
I am starting to think that probably the sprint version might have differences in hardware with other 4G capable phones.
Can anybody tell if there are any hardware differences between the sprint note 4 and other note 4 models.
Do you think that the sprint note 4 has what its needed to connect on 4G on the above frequencies?
If yes, what might be the right approach to try to resolve this.
Thank you for reading and since this is my first post on XDA please help me!
Yes, because of Sprint Spark it only uses 26 and 41 bands, 1900mhz and 2.5ghz respectively. FDD-LTE and TD-LTE are unique to Sprint and they are big enough to have the phones shipped this way. For flexability yoh should move to a GSM model phone.

Heh, what you think about this thread.
Especially about the history of success adding LTE bands 4/14 in SGS5 SM-G900P from Sprint?
Samsung SM-G900F - added LTE band 4. Confirmed operation on new band
Samsung SM-G900P - added LTE band 4/14
Samsung SM-G906L - added LTE band 4

Its worth giving a try for sure. You do run the risk of bricking your NV and losing signal altogether. However, I have done this successfully using DFS CDMA Tools on an old Samsumg Cappy from AT&T back in the day. *Disclaimer: proceed at your own risk*
After further review, and some trial and error, the above listed mod only works with GSM phones. Your Note is a CDMA version. Please do not try.

I understand but since my note is a CDMA how can you explain that it works fine for GSM and data in 3g ?
What might be the hardware difference with the international version that does not allow my phone to work in 4g in my network?
I am assuming that they use the same chip-set and the problem is only soft based.
