Last night i decided to odin to stock Jb because I had read that you should do this to ensure all partitions were flashed. I had already flashed new frosty rom with official jb base and everything was fine, but now for some strange reason my phone will not call my wife. As great as this sounds it is a problem as I do need to call her from time to time. She is not on the blocked call list and I have tried 2 different roms, frosty and infamous and both have the same result. It will start the call and get to half a ring and then hang up. I have wiped and re- wiped( getting sore from wiping so much) sorry couldn't resist. Any one have a clue how to fix. I have deleted her as a contact and tried dialing direct and nothing works.
Please help

Yes, her phone works. She can call me and I can answer her call fine. I'm also lost on this one. I've gone back to stock completely with no root. Going to take phone in to T-Mobile.

Have you tried a reset after Odin?

I wish she did block me then she wouldn't complain about me not calling her.
I did odin back to JB stock with no root. And did a reset. First time I've had a phone without root for more then a few hours.
I went to tmobile and got new sim and still same problem. I can call her if I dial *67 first but dont want to do that.
Going to try to wipe her (my old) GS2 and see if that fixes the issue.

Some phones can set numbers to be blocked (accidentally) if you hold the end call bottun it can set that number to be blocked... check to see if she did block you...

have u tried swapping sim cards? not sure if it would answer anything but just trowing my 0.02 out there
Shoot man. Phone did you a favor.
Sounds like it is your wifes phone and not yours. The timing might have been coincidental.

How? Not for me thank god. But, I used to think it was fake. I probably rooted/fixed 100 phones this week. And, I saw it today on a friends phone. He's on probation and doesn't need that

Have you tried using titanium backup or root explorer to delete it

That's a great idea. Thank you for your response. Totally worked. One more question, though.
It seems to get installed when you get a weird phone call. I already blocked unknown calls and a few likely suspects. Is there something more I can do. Like make it so only his contacts can call him?

where on phone did you see it? using root explorer or something? always thought was untraceable once installed..would be nice to know to look
Well best thing you can use is root call blocker, it works best but its paid app. Has that feature to just have calls from contacts. Also has reject too that works better than the built-in one..

might wanna tell "buddy" that if he got cases big enough for cops to tap his phones he might wanna switch to something other than his personal cell to conduct business or if it might just be wifey keeping tabs to make sure he aint banging the next new thing then he might wanna do the same because she can always order an in depth statement on calls and texts.... just saying
What? What's this about an app (or something) being installed from just receiving a phone call?
I'm no where near an expert or a dev but I never heard of anything like this. Unless the phone was already infected PRIOR receiving the 'weird' phone call.
Edit: OK.. I just Googled it, and sure enough it MUST be installed first. There are 2 versions, 1 - the LITE version can be installed on any android phone, but doest intercept live calls (and other things). 2 - the OMNI version requires a rooted phone, and you can intercept live phone calls and listen in.

Here's what has happened....
I purchased my SGS2 Saturday April 14th, I rooted it same day, I flashed TDJ Warefare. I noticed on the 4th day after getting my phone my calls started to drop like crazy. Like every other call was dropping or they couldn't hear me. So I called Tmo they walked me through troubleshooting, that didn't help. Took it back to the store where I purchased it this past weekend the sales rep said it sounds like it's a bad sim card. Ok so they changed my sim (of course I rooted again tried Jugganuats this time) and the phone was working fine until yesterday it starting dropping calls. SO I took the phone back and they switched it with a new one.
I would like to know from you all should I try rooting again?
Please don't flame me for asking this question or if it's in the wrong section of the forum.
I would just like your honest opinion as to what If I should or not and if I do, is there a solution to the dropped calls????
Thanks all
Rooting has nothing to do with your dropped calls. your first phone was defective.

I did I have a new one now. I was asking should I root again? I just don't want my calls to start dropping again.
Let me ask you since it's not the rooting what do you think it could be??
Did you do a factory reset before taking it back?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA
Rooting will not affect the signal or radio. Would suggest that, stay on stock ROM for a week or so and see if you get drop calls. If not, then try another ROM and if you get drop calls after that so it has to do with the ROM.

Call your carrier, have them reset your line, describe them the situation and tell them you need everything reset on their end.

I have started seeing the same thing on my phone. I haven't had time to dig into it but I just flashed FreeGS3 last night and it started today. When I was full stock/rooted I never noticed a problem. It doesn't happen every time either. Are you on a custom rom? May not have anything to do with it, just a starting point for me.

Yes I am on a stock rom I haven't changed anything besides rooting the phone. My problem just started yesterday and hoping it get resolves really soon.
Has it been happening with every text you send, or is it kinda random? Mine seems to be random so far. Hopefully its a network issue on TMobiles side.
In case you don't know, in Messaging apps settings you can set it to request a delivery report for SMS and/or MMS. That way you can at least be sure if/when your texts go through. It will notify you when it is delivered.

I don't think its a problem with the rom. I had just flashed it so wasn't sure at the time but I haven't had any issues with it today. Must have been on network side I guess.

No I live in Georgia, and its also fine in Georgia now
This started happening yesterday, when I txt someone its normal, but when anyone txts me I receive it but under a no name thread in my app. And it doesn't allow me to reply there since it has no number. And no matter who txts me it goes to that thread so I never know whose texting me. Wth is going on!!!? I rebooted yesterday and it fixed it but I don't wanna have to reboot everytime I wanna txt someonee.

That is a network issue. Try updating Prl and profile. Also try removing the battery for a few minutes. If it still happens call Sprint. They may be having issues with the tower closest to you.

I just had this same problem this morning..... on top of that, my phone thought it was 7:30 am when it was really more like 11:30 am.... definitely a sprint issue, but very weird indeed...
These all might be related to the Google server error.

Lol, I'm glad it isn't just me. But I went back to tw and am using the epic modem now ( was using the nexus) and it seems like everything is well up to now. Reallly scared the crap out of me when it happened tho, cuz when I thought it was just one person it was fine but when I got multiple txts it really confused me and I almost said the wrong things to the wrong ppl lol.
And the time error happened to me too. And my phone also said 7 30 lol. But it was actually like 6 30. And it reallly almost screwed me over cuz I was waiting for a bus and didn't know what time it was or when the bus came lol.

Hey guys. I need your help!
I got onto T-Mobile 5 months ago. Very happy with the service. Fast reliable 4G-LTE network!
I'm having a major issue which I can't find a sulotion and maybe here I'll be able to troubleshoot it.
For the past 3 weeks. When I make or receive a call from my phone the other person can't hear me! Or when I get a phone call the other person can't either as well
I took the sim card out. Put it in a different samsung galaxy s4 and it works perfectly fine.
Does anyone have, had this before in the past and found the cause to it. Please please please help me out here!
Thanks much!

Try using the headset when making or getting a call. Be sure it's the original Samsung issue that came with the phone.
if they hear you, then it might be the phone's microphone is out of whack. Then also try voice recorder. see if it can record. if it does, the Mic. is good...
could also be the mic jack has crud in it. Pocket lint sometimes causes all kinds of weird problems...
Aloha and good luck!
