[Q] Pop up video only compatible with native video player? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I was just wondering if the pop up video feature on the galaxy note 2 is compatible with only the native video player or is there a mod to allow it to work with even video apps ? Thanks !

If you want something similar for it that works with YouTube try Popcorn Player

There's a few that are pop up. DICE player is what I was using on my GSII, I believe it's the same company that made the one for the Note II. There is also another one that'll do youtube pop up playback but I didn't like the integration so I don't use it anymore.

Any chance pop up can be initiated from a movie watched through the native web browser or any web browser or can it only work with video player apps mentioned? Thanks for all your responses! I appreciate it.

I haven't tried it, but I run Mobo Player as my primary video app. It has a Pop Up player and I believe it can play streaming videos etc. Although I never tried the pop up with streaming videos. I'll try if I get a chance. Is there a specific page/site to try?

Theses an APP call WorldStar HipHop That uses the defualt video Player and can use the Pop up play Option

I was able to use Mobo with no issue on that app posted by yellowman82.

YouTube PopUp Play

Hey, I am searching for an app with lets you play youtube videos in a popup window like locally stored videos on the SGS3... is there a "hack" for youtube App / TouchWiz so you can do this or an external app?

Grateful to know what's better? I'm always on the lookout, especially if it"s free to download. Couldn't find anything on the Playstore that reliably allowed playback of YouTube vids outside the YouTube app. I'm running a stock ICS rom, so would have to count out any apps that required a rooted device..

i used mxplayer but switched to diceplayer as it lets you play in pop-out video while checking e-mail etc
BSplayer can play video in "external mode", so everywhere, while you are surfing, reading email etc... and you can resize, pause or clse the video.
MXplayer doesnt provide this feature.

Mkv at 1080p with audio DTS, flawlessly.
I bought bs player pro, but had problems with it in 4.2, dice player is what I'm using now for smb streaming

DicePlayer is my favourite. Smooth and you can activate Plugins if you need to.
I use vplayer

I use BS Player because it read everything well and has a LAN Mode. But the UI is horrible.
My combo: BSplayer (soft decode) for WMV + DICE Player for everything else

[Q] MX Player to Buffer Web Videos

HI,
I shifted to note 2 a month back and noticed this issue. On my atrix 2 whenever i buffered a video (say from IMDB) it used to play in mx player. But in GN2 that is on jelly bean it starts up in some some crappy player imbedded in the website i think. Even the imdb app plays the videos in some absurd player. Videos from the facebook app somehow go to MX player.
So the question is: Is there any way to make the mx player play these videos. The other players lack gesture controls and thats a must for me.
I have already tried clearing the data of the default player but it didn't help at all.
Yeah go to app manager and select video player. Then click clear defaults. Now try to play video.
this is XXXDDDAAA

(Fix) Saving YouTube videos to scrapbook

I don't know if it's been posted here, but some of you may have noticed that updating the YouTube app completely messed up saving a video to scrapbook. It just saved the screenshot and you would have to uninstall the YouTube update to get it to work.
To get the videos to save on your scrapbook all you have to do is click the share button on YouTube and select scrapbook. Now the videos play within scrapbook.
I don't know if I'm just an idiot for not trying that in the first place, but just posting this to maybe help out someone who hasn't figured it out yet.

I don't think anyone noticed this. Thanks.
Still sucks that it has to be done this way.

[Q] Best Adfree Video Player?

I'm looking around for a really good and thorough video player that works well with the N7 and can handle most or all file types such as MKV. So far the stock video play has handled everything well but I noticed it struggling with MKV files so I tried MX Player and so far its OK but it has annoying ads and I can't find an option to buy it to remove ads. They don't seem to show up during play back but they're in the menus and my OCD side comes out. Thanks for any help in advance!

Try Dice Player(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inisoft.mediaplayer.a) or MoliPlayer(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moliplayer.android)
both works fine with n7

How's the MX Pro doing?
