So I had several calls yesterday for over 30 mins each..
Each time i would hear echoy sound of my voice, and i also feel like i could hear the voice coming out of the phone lol, even though the phone isnt on speaker.
I also my have a bad battery it'll go pretty low i guess. Yesterday was my first full day using it, went to work at 70% since i forgot to charge it, at noon unplugged it's at 100% came home around 9 and got 10% left. , so i got 9 hours in total, from calls. light browsing, light twitter, facebook use.. I havent even setup my work email, and i constantly get over 100+ emails a day on my account. So i know battery will go significantly
Should I wipe everything clean and see if it works.. I have 14 days to return for a new one.
also today left my house at 7:30.. it 9:50 now and already at 75%...
I think someone else on here had similar issue with having an echo when speaking into the phone. If im not mistaken they exchanged it and the new one did not have the problem. Maybe you should take it in for an exchange.
As far as battery life, well it seems to be varying from user to user. I am getting pretty good battery life, anywhere from 12-15 hours on a charge with medium use. On light use I get well over 15 hours. There are some that seem to be having poor battery life. Have you checked your battery stats? Whats your android OS % at? And what is your screen on time? Have you turned on ECO mode?

Assuming you dont have a lemon, it all depends on how you use your phone.
Do you have lots of apps with push notifications?
Or do you have lots of apps that check for new notifications every 10 minutes?
Screen brightness? Screen-on time?
What radios do you have on?
...the list goes on
On a typical day, I can get about 12 hours with moderate use (3 hrs screen on time). Close to 24 hours with light use. Mine idles pretty well (approx 1% or less battery loss per hour).
FWIW - my 'Android OS' is usually at around 50% and screen is at about 25%

Facebook every hour
Twitter every 15 mins,
Work email every 1 hour
I do have ESPN scorescenter, Pandora, Google Music, Spotify as a widget, but their notifications are set to none. Will this drain battery on the screen.?
Screen brightness is at 20%, outside 55%.
Where do I check Screen on time.?
Wifi, BT, GPS, NFC are all off. Only thing on is the 3g network.
Right now 6 hours, im at 63%.

Doesn't seem like a lemon to me. Falls somewhat in line with my battery experience.
You can check screen on time by going to the power saver in settings, scroll down to battery use and hit that. Then hit 'screen'

Yeah - I never turned those on or used any kind of juice defender either (thought I am on Wifi alot). I think you're fine.
Try this - fully charge your phone before you go to bed. Leave it off the charger over night. See how much your battery drops. Even with a few google accounts on push, facebook messenger push, instagram push, LG social+ and a couple of news readers that auto-update every few hours, I've seen my battery drop at most 5% over 7 hours.

Over the last couple of weeks it seems like my battery has been fairing worse.
My phone was fully charged an hour ago, and I've been browsing/twittering a bit. Battery is now at 69%.
To add to this, I've had my phone on charge overnight a few times and reported full/100% when unplugged. A few mins later the charge drops to ~90%.
I'm beginning to wonder if this is a faulty battery, or a software issue?
There's not much runing in the background, just Facebook, a weather program updating every 2 hrs.
There's nothing out of the ordinary showing up on battery history either.
Thoughts?
I guess you didn't have this problem before the recent update?
I've read alot of people having problems with the battery after the latest OTA update. After the phone is fully charge the battery immediately drops faster than usual. Also, sometimes by HTC battery widget reports 96-100% even if I have charged it over night.
I don't think the draining is faster now than before, except for the foirst 5-10%.
I haven't installed the latest ota update, infact I haven't installed any updates for a while. I might change to a different Rom to see if it makes any difference.
Search threads you'll find an answer to the 90-100% issue. basically it will charge to 100%, then stop charging until it falls to 90% and then charge back up to 100% (rather than trickle charging once it gets to 100% so it will stay there). So when you unplug is after a full charge there is the gamble that you've unplugged it somewhere between 90% and 100% - but you have to wait a few minutes to find out... its so exciting - every morning I can't wait to get to the train station to check if I've guessed correctly...
Just flash a UVOC kernel on your phone

hahah you made me laugh
i think it might be worth to drain the battery till 0% then fully recharge to recalibrate the cycle
check in spare parts to see if your phone is sleeping properly. a couple of us are having that problem, o solved it by switching of wireless location. not sure thats a longterm solution though as i am always using geolocation on my phone
I am turning phone of at night but don'ty like doing this, but I always carry my usb lead at work so I can charge up if required in emergency.
I have the same problem.
I recharged my Desire full 6 hours ago, and now I am at 38% remaining battery with moderate usage. I have the latest generic rom.
Before I got it I was reading about bad battery life, but I didn't expect it to be THIS bad. What, 8 hours, 10, 12?
Sad.

it doesnt need to be that bad at all, when you get it setup right it will wasily last an entire day, mine suddenly changed and the life got worse but i have found a kind of solution, you need to play around with your settings.
a great saving is to switch mobile data when you are near a computer, you can still receive text messages and make calls and you will use a tiny amount of battery
Email is crucial an basic to me, just like phone calls and more then text messages (I don't need them). Just I have to be able to receive emails at any time. Still, I didn't expect imap over GSM Only (my current setting, I don't need 3G, just basic email sync) to use so much battery. This is my first cell phone to be so bad at battery :/
It's 5 days old, and people say it will get better in days... but lets see. I hope so.
By the way, "setting it up in proper way" I hope it doesn't mean turning off this and that. Because in the end I will receive a basic, phone calls, cell phone. It's not smart anymore
Edit: Since I wrote the previous post, till now, the battery dropped 5%, and now it's at 33%.
totally understand about having email on.
5% in a couple of minutes is totally wrong. gps/wifi on?, what is set to update and how frequently, weather, twitter, stocks, mail sync.
also download spare parts and see what is under partial wake usage and whether or not your desire is going to sleep when the screen is off. its the top option in the app. you want other and since boot and running and screen % and then check partial wake usage, they should be close to the same and see if anything has a large blue bar.
Wifi is off most of the time, if I turn it on it will be only to check something fast (5 minutes max at a period).
Weather updates every 1 hour
Facebook once a day
No twitter, stocks (they are checked in settings -> sync and can confirm that are disabled)
Email keeps the connection only, imap-idle
GPS is disabled, although the weather uses it at the refreshing time, to re-locate me.
Thats all I can think of.
I really use it a little (at least not as much as I would love) and I still lose so much battery.

how often is the mail sync? every 5 mins, 15?
i'd definitely download spare parts from the market it's free, the interface is a bit weird but it gives you useful stats.
it sounds like you know your stuff so i'm going to assume that you dont have bluetooth on you screen on full brightness.
what does it say in settings>about phone>battery>battery use?
The email is imap-idle. It keeps the connection all the time, and waits for email. When the server receives the email, it pushes it to the phone. But connection is kept alive all the time. Idling most of the time, but keeping it alive.
I will check the spare parts program later or tomorrow, I am tired today, long day
Bluetooth is off always, I dont need it. Really, all I need on a phone is email 24/7 (I am linux system administrator, taking care of alot of servers, I need my emails) and like 5 phone calls daily, each not longer then 1 minute (we don't talk much )) )
battery use says:
Android System 96%
CoPilot 2% (freshly installed it and tested a bit, and then terminated it)
Cell standby 2%
Uptime is 21 hours
Awake time is 10 hours
isn't that much? Like half of the time, the phone is awake :/
Edit: brightness is set at automatic

ok, i think we;ve found the problemo, android system at 96% is way off mine is currently at 26 and that is a bit high in my opinion. also my uptime is 7 hours and awake is 1 so thats seven to one as opposed to 2 to 1 in your case.
something is using your system resources and stopping your phone sleeping
I'm glad we got somewhere and I have to thank you for your patience in helping me with my problem.
Tonight I will reboot before I go to sleep, and will disable the email syncing. Just to see if the e-mail makes android be used 96% of the time, and tomorrow I will see the uptime and awake time.
Good idea?

i think that is a logical place to start, spare parts will give you a better idea of what is using your resources hopefully by app rather than just android system.
instead of downloading spare parts you can also type this code into the dialer
*#*#4636#*#*
and it will get you the same info
just subscribed to this thread because I'm having similer problems.
"android system" is always 49%-60%
Current uptime - 3hours 4mins
Current awake times - 2hours 37mins.
I have a feeling foursquare might be the culprit since it's ALWAYS in my running apps, even when I've not used it since boot, and shut it with task killer... an hour or so later and it's back.
Something isnt right tho. I think from a full charge I should get 24hours from my phone with moderate use.

yeah that is absolutely not normal, use spare parts and thatll tell you if it is foursquare
So my battery life so far has been hugely inconsistent. The first day it was draining so fast (60% in an hour) that I contemplated turning around and taking it right back to the Verizon store.
I decided to give it a better chance than that and gave it a full conditioning cycle and all seemed well - I got 16 hours with moderate usage including an hour and a half where my screen was constantly on! I was very pleased. Extremely pleased.
So I charge my phone back up to 100% before I go to sleep then take it off the charger once it does. I drift off into dreamland, dead to the world, and five hours later I decided to check my phone for calls, texts and email.
Before I could even pull my notification bar down I saw something horrific - an extremely low battery capacity, nearly red. Checked battery usage and it said it went from 100% to 13% in about 5.5 hours.
Android OS - 64%
Phone Idle - 10%
This is the big indicator. Under Android OS, my phone (not the display) was kept awake for an hour and a half overnight. I'm really not sure what's going on here and what's causing this to happen. I haven't downloaded much - 1 game, Skype, Google Reader, Facebook, Tweetcaster, Evernote and Foursquare - and none of them showed any signs of being the culprit.
As you can tell, this is very worrisome. If I can't get more than 5.5 hours on a full charge what use is this phone to me? Does anyone know what could be going on or has anyone else run into this issue?

Thank you! I will direct my attention over there. Mods please close this thread.
hello !
i was just wondering if you're experiencing the same battery drain I do.. I am on battery since 7 o clock when i went to school and I am left with 14% of battery now after 14 hours.. facebook updating every 4 hours, push notifications enabled, 3G on, 40 minutes active on facebook, 10 minutes of browsing and a bit of gaming ~ 2h7 of screen on time and 30 mins of phonecalls..
is that normal?! post your results or stats please !
That sounds about right. I usually have to charge at the end of the day around 6pm.
whats your usage?
and hows it about the screen brightness? mine is approx. ~30% so autobrightness if i get into light..
On a normal day for me... I'm txt constantly and browsing and or doing something on it.
My phone is off the charger 6am onward. By the time I get to 4pm... it's very well at about 10% left.
Screen brightness is usually at 25%. I've also recently removed most of the bloatware off the phone which doesn't run.
My autoupdate is mostly turnoff off on all my apps except for fb every 4hours, twitter every 4hrs and my email is on all the time.
Avast is always running and I toggle between data and wifi constantly.
I'm happy if I get a good 12 to 14hours worth of usage before a charge. Mind you I'm only running on a 1350mah battery. I was thinking of looking for a 1800mah. Could give me a few more hours.
Cheers.
why 1350 mah? normally the arc comes with 1500? okay.. that sounds fine.. screen on time bout 2 hours right?
My battery stats have improved greatly by turning off location completely.
Took it off charge at 6am and with heavy usage
YouTube internet calls etc
still have 65% 16.5 hrs later.:good:
Just starting to play with battery use on my new G5. 100% charged 10 hours ago just before bed.
On a day to day basis i am a pretty light user. Calls and texts mainly.
Left phone unpluggged so it slept and 7 1/2 hours layer its at 93%.
20 mins music and email checking 19 hours in its at 88%.
Have Greenified much in the way of apps which i think improved things. Compared to the Sony i had the G5 seems to have ok battery life.
Its certainly in the useful, full day and better range.

Is yours rooted? I tend to get 5+ hours screen on time sometimes 7 which is amazing for a phone this cheap.
Same here, I have about 4-5 hours of screen on time with greenify, non-rooted. I'm a regular user, messenger, emailing, browsing, spotify etc. I'm also using Adguard which has its impact on the battery but a small price compared to having ads all over the place

Nope, no root as yet. And actually i may not depending on what ROMS become available in the future. Pretty happy with the way this is setting up and Android 7.0 stock. I think i may well leave it unrooted until after Android O hits and see where i go from there.
i'm rooted and the battery is very good, i got 7,5 hours SOT, usually i have 5-6 H of calls and 3H of SOT, 2 sims active, wifi and 4g always on, and the battery is 20-25% when i put on charging from evening to the morning. Very happy with this battery

Very good battery for price of the handset
I don´t know it´s a isolated case, but since i bought the phone, the battery is pretty bad, yesterday i tried to charge with another power adapter and my battery it´s lasting longer, anyone have this same problem?
Sometimes this happens to me.
When i keep my phone overnight(Battery Saver ON) even wid a charge of 60-70%, next day mrng, the battery is completely drained and phone is OFF. This doesnt happen daily, happens only sometimes. Any guesses why dis happens?
I've a brand new Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite, but since a few days I notice that it seems that the battery is draining fast.
So I've done a test: I've charged my phone to 100% and used it until it turned off due to too low battery and it lasted 23 hours and 3 minutes.
But I doubt if this is normal and I'm kinda worried about it.
I've bluetooth off, and wifi is always on except when I go outside and then I use mobile data.
I use my phone for surfing, using social media, chatting, gaming, making nice pics and more.
So is the battery life normal or is this a serious problem?
is 23hr bad ? I feel like my one is always above 80% as it charges that fast I don't seem to notice the battery being low

I dunno
I haven't mentioned the standby time and the active time in the topic, and I cannot find that data anymore so that means I have to do the test again
I would advise to install AccuBattery app, fully charge the phone and look at screen off and screen on power consumption at the end of the day.
These numbers are "normal":
Screen off - no activity (over night or phone just laying down for a few hours): 0.2-0.3%/h
Screen off - the usual daily activity (moving around with the phone in the pocket, Whatsapp for web active, Google location tracking active etc.): up to 1.3%/h
Screen on - about 7-9%/h
I'll do another test on Friday as I said.
I'll charge the phone to 100% and use it until the phone turns itself off due to low battery and look at the active time then.
I'll post the results here if the test is done.
What were the results?

My phone is pretty new and I am using it more frequently these days. This leads to similar battery times like you describe them.
I did not do the exact same discharging like you did, but imo battery drains mainly during screen-on time. Over night it is quite stable and only slowly discharging.
Maybe power consumption is dominated by the LED screen? This might be the reason why Xiaomi has such an aggressive screen dimming implemented...
I think what _mysiak_ is describing above, is pretty accurate and explains what you are observing.
