anyone still following this post?
I've been trying to get the cwm file, but the original thread downloads something else entirely. the zip file is named correctly, but there is nothing but a "recovery.bin" file name and in the file type description in says "VLC media..."
I'm not the only one with this problem. Could someone please follow up on this? Thanks

Just put it in Odin/flash in CWM depending on which you picked. If you Odin, I think you have to put the recovery.bin in the Phone slot, or you can just put the tar in either slot.

You cant let it boot. Booting reinstalls the android recovery. Maybe, have battery out, then try booting with the 5 finger combo, or uncheck reboot in odin.

this probably should have been stated with the first post, but prior to doing all this my phone was rooted with EI22 then did the unroot to FC09....if that matters/helps

The CWM files are in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357655
.md5 files are not the archive, but the signature to verify your download.
Here are instructions to properly root your phone by flashing clockwork mod via download mode:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sa...te_Guide#Installing_the_ClockworkMod_Recovery
Then you will want to boot into recovery and install whatever ROM you want from the SD Card using the recovery mode.

Odin tars are .tar.md5 or .tar. its not a signature check, but if flashing that doesn't work, delete .md5.

Hi. It's possible to make a STOCK ROM flashable ?
For example S5660XXKTI to be flashable
Thanx in advance!
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2127181
Sent from my Galaxy Gio
sure its possible. just download the package, and download a stock based custom rom as well.
first extract the rom.tar.md5
then extract system.rfs with magiciso and you get a system folder.
delete the system folder from the custom rom and add the other one you just extracted. then zip and flash it

Try flashing PhilzTouch recovery thru ODIN in download mode and from there wipe everything possible (extract external SD card first) and then flash any ROM you would like. Good luck, monitoring thread.

Wow, sorry I didn't check. You could ask the dev to reupload only the PIT file for you. Meanwhile I will try to find another one. Guys at sammobile should have one.

Just install another custom recovery, then use it to flash the zip from the linked post.
Or, extract the recovery.img and then tar it. You can't just rename it, you have to run the tar command. There are a few scripts floating around that will do it for you.

I have the BLN-L22 it was rooted and had twrp installed. I wanted to update to b340 from b330 version so I flashed stock recovery and then used the dload method to update but it still shows b330 and if i try to update to b340 using ota it fails (and now it shows the device verification failed warning in red instead of the previous orange when booting up) .
So can anyone help out as to what I should do to start getting updates again?
The only reason I use root is for viper4android.
Thanks
current info- build no- BLN-L22c675B330
stock recovery
unlocked bootlader ( I guess since i tried the
fastboot oem relock <code> and it failed. error: stat something)
Download b330 full firmware 2gb something then flash it using dload method it will relock bootloader and u can update it easily

Do I extract the update.app from both and put it i dload?
also usually after i flash the full firmware using dload it shows update failed . so how do I go about it. like update.app from full rom and then update.app from the 7xx mb file? or just update.app from 1gb zip?
one more thing the phone starts up after the update fails (or passes in case of b330) so do i have to somehow flash the other part after shutting it down right after it finishes?
honestly ive tried a bunch of stuff and this wasnt that hard with oneplus one haha

Initially it will be the larger zip.
extract the content and put all 3-4 files in dload folder, go with dload method
Once done, delete the content for dload.
next the 2nd zip file, extract and put all in the dload and proceed with dload method.
good luck
