[Q] android music out for ipod only made..possible? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello guys,
recently i have changed my phone from iphone 4 to galaxy note 2 (which i am completely in love with ) but the problem is i have a car audio system which is alpine system....tht can play songs from pendrive and ipod, iphone through 30pin output to usb...but when i connect my note 2 it says device not supported.....so my humble question is ....is it possible to play android songs from usb out ....through ipod made audio system??
Thank you.

The Note 2 doesn't support UMS (USB Mass Storage) so it won't work normally.
There is a root app that allows you to mount as UMS which you could give a try?

Do you store media on USB storage?

I have some music on my 32GB mSD card but I wanna transfer more.
I notice that the usb storage is hardly used for anything. Do you store music and video on the usb storage partition? I have 9.31GB/11.50GB available on the usb storage and Id like to utilize it as it doesnt seem to be being used for much. Thanks!
You can use it just like you do your card. I have the first 3 seasons of The Big Bang Theory stored on mine along with a few other items.?

Thanks. I dumped some music onto it. poweramp works well with selecting folders. I was just curious as I'm becoming more familiar with this file system and the way it's broken up.

Will my tablet recognise my Sony Handycam? Can i upload videos to youtube from it?

Hey guys
So basically I have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC19E camcorder, and was wondering if i plugged it into my galaxy tab using the samsung usb adapter thing, will it recognise it and allow me to take and transfer files to and from the tab?
As i want to upload some videos to youtube but it wont work on my computer?
So im basically asking if anybody has got mass storage access to devices they have plugged into the tab 10.1
Thanks in advance for any help
Adam
I have a Sony dcr-sr100. It mounts to my galaxy tab 10.1 on stock firmware.
I have found that " high" powered USB devices are rejected by this tab, which is annoying. But i have found that how you connect the devices matter also.
E.g. if the adaptor is plugged in then i use my USB drive to the adapter is does not work.
If my USB drive is plugged into the adapter then into the tab it usually works, if not pull out and try again right away.
If you can get a powered USB hub, this will help for connecting more devices. Generic keyboard & mice work fine ( if not " high" powered)
USB mass storage otg app in the market will help to mount more drives at once and enable access to NTFS formatted drives which are not supported on the stock firmware.

This is the one I got.

I don't see much point paying more than this.
Also the " card reader" versions are designed to only mount one card at a time since that is how the stock device handles otg. But if you already have USB card reader your happy with, it can be used with USB mass storage OTG app from the market. ( Which also adds NTFS support).

Sprite cheers. I may just get a 3 pound one off Amazon, then see if it works

I got the corded version, as I thought it was more risky using the "Block" style one that might break the connector 30pin if it was knocked too hard.
There is rick of the corded version breaking on the cable, but it is a cheap replacement fix.

How to use Note 2 Mass Storage?

How to use standard usb mass storage rather than the two media options which are way too slow.
Thanks
My Note II is Rooted.
Pretty sure Android lost this ability after 4.0. I use Samba Filesharing, which is a little cludgy, but it's pretty fast over wifi.
I use Paragon on my NTFS 64GB stick and SGS3 Easy UMS for microsd file storage not for internal and it works great!
I love how I can play 10GB .mkv's on my Note II and it looks insane!
Get a micro sd adapter and then either use a built in media reader on your PC or get one you can plug in to the use slot. Other than that, just use Samba file sharing from Play Store (free) or something similar.

My above solution fixed mass storage for me and I'm using ntfs and paragon on my 64gb stick getting up to 25MB/s write...

[Q] Can I watch video on my car stereo entertainment system from gs4?

Hi does anyone know how I can watch movies or anything on my jvc double din kw-nt700 it has video input and output an ipod input and usb cable sticking out of the back . Iv tried blutooth and it just play audio not video and iv tried the usb data cable that phone came with but same result . Which I already know wont work cause its a data cable and music only . So I was thinking micro usb to rca to plug into the back of my deck .Does anyone know if this will work. And if not what can I do . It is really annoying that the iPhone/ipod has a cable specifically for this but the galaxy s4 doesnt???
you might be able to try Dlna via Bluetooth. Or if you have root try my widget (or other app) to enable universal mass storage mode for the external sd card.

It's in themes and apps section. It should allow you to freely browse the external sd card.

USB mass storage?

Hello, it appears USB mass storage isn't supported by Windows anymore.
There are third party apps that enables USB mass storage on galaxy devices such as Galaxy S4 (I am using one with USB mass storage)
My question is, are there any existing apps that can enable USB mass storage on the new Galaxy Tab S?
Transferring media files such as 1080p films over MTP is proving to be a painful.
Thanks

Use a USB SD reader. You have to unmount and remove SD card, but it's probably faster.

Is that the same to say that there are no USB mass storage support at the moment, or will there never be USB mass storage support because of physical limitations on the device?
I know that previous devices that used to support USB mass storage had that function deleted due to a firmware upgrade, but does USB mass storage still exist on these new pads? If so, I can come back and check every once in a while because a USB SD card reader is a temporary solution, since eventually, we would all prefer to transfer files without the need of additional accessories..
At some point I'll be adding it into my SkyHigh kernel for 8.4". Was quite a successful addition to my Note 3 kernel.

UMS is not USB-OTG
UMS is a faster depreciated method of transferring files between PC and device external storage via USB cable.

UMS (USB Mass Storage) mode is now in SkyHigh kernel for 8.4 " T700 and T705 Exynos devices only.
