Sorry bud. Boot loader needs to be unlocked in order to change the Sony logo. That's the boot loader starting up. Before starting the Rom.

Yes I can make one for the s but you need to tell me what all the specs are. If it's the same as the ion and acro just the name is different let me know.

Hello All,
With some helpful advice from these forums, I was able to replace the China Unicom boot animation from my Xperia ZL with a stock version. FYI, this was located in /system/media on my phone.
However, I still have the China Unicom shutdown animation playing on shutdown. Any ideas on where this might be, and how to remove/replace it?
Please help me get this annoying Chinese branding off my phone. I would sincerely appreciate it.
This is just a guess, but try replacing ShutDownAnimation.all in system/app.

Hello,friends.
I think that you may need to place shutdownanimation file in the folder below.
/etc/customization/content/com/sonyericsson/shutdownanim/shutdown.mp4
(set permission : rw-r-r)
Please try it.

Sorry, knowledge still limited regarding framework. But knowing that M has it, makes the work a bit easier for those who know it...
I am curious about it, so I'm going to try something later to see if it has a chance of working... I just need a Xperia M system dump...
Decompile framework-res.apk of both devices and there u will find animation folder..
Compare that if u can get anything useful.. just a guess..

They need a special lib or .so file (not sure which). I was going to try to get that file from Xperia M, put into my S, and test the module, but haven't found a system dump yet.

Ah, sorry I misunderstood your post. I have no experience in changing the kernel boot logo itself.
Bootanimation Android L adjusted for Sony Z1 Compact with powered by Android
installation: (DO NOT FLASH!!)
put on sd card and copy to system/media
adjust permissions to rw-r--r-- (644)
---BTW ---- You could rename your current bootanimation for backup purposes ----
Just extracted this from Xperia 1 firmware.
All credits to Sony.
Copy to oem/media and give r-w-r-r permissions, reboot, profit!
Wonderful!! Working perfect on my XZ2
Magisk module and 720p Magisk module of Xperia 1 Boot Animation
@Beetle84: Thanks a lot for sharing this lovely new bootanimation!
For easier installation, I made a Magisk module of the bootanimation in its original (1096p) resolution.
For users with smaller screens, I made a 720p version of the bootanimation and also put it into a Magisk module. I tested this version on my Z3c.
Enjoy!
Edit: Also added 20 fps versions of the original and the 720p bootanimation.

No idea if it's so speedy on Xperia 1, anyways, find below the same 20 fps boot animation as before but with the Powered by Android part removed, so we get the xperia animation for a second or two longer

I can access my boot animation zip on my XZ2 Pie using Solid File Manager. I can even change the permissions and delete the stock file. I just dont want to replace it with the one for the Xperia 1 and in so doing, brick my device. I asked @nreuge because he also has an Xperia XZ2 and trust his advice.

I'm surprised that you can access this path without root.
My XZ2 is rooted, so unfortunately I cannot know what it'll happen on an unrooted device. Sorry...

Why 644 permissions?
I am wondering why the boot animation needs a write permission from root? Kind of strange for a series of files that are simply read and displayed. Can anyone clarify? NM, I know why.
