I love me some AOKP!!! Unfortunately, I'm using a Sprint SGS3. Any chance you'll be supporting our phones the way you did with the NS4G?

OP says camera crashes when click to auto focus. can you confirm this? also, does gps and recording video work for you?
Before I try to flash this rom. I want to know what is differant from this and the stock rom that came with the SG3 other than not having TW? I know I need to back up first. Are all the main features stripped out or are they still there? How safe and stable is it to flash?
Just to make sure, is this ICS or Jelly bean?
answer a few questions...
camera works, yes autofocus does not fc/crash
video recording works/ 720p (20 sec record and playback without probs)
GPS works, very fast lock
ICS 4.0.4
this rom is sweet!

ICS. There isn't a JB build of AOKP yet.

Just tried this and runs very smooth. The only issue I had was in Settings when I click on Storage, it just goes back to home screen. Also, Video Camera does force close. Other than that, everything seemed to run great.
I love how u guys are going toe to toe with cyanogen mod with the aokp project. U guys do good work!
Great, now I can't get past the Samsung Galaxy 3 boot screen. Now what??

if your using the official CWM that just came out for the GS3, that CWM dosent have external sd card support, you have to use V4 of CMW (this one)
I have been looking all over and my eyes are about ready to have a critical meltdown.
I have a T-Mo T-989 (Hercules) and have been looking for a JB ROM all night and found some shady threads or ROMs that don't work. I dunno, maybe I've installed something wrong, little help here?
Generally the ones that will install get hung up during the initial boot, wtf? Have run across some that wouldn't even install and would abort.
I should say I am using CWM 5.0.2.6... I think, its been so long since I have done anything to this phone so I forget but I know its ither Odin or CWM (or are they both one in the same? x.x ) I've been using Darkside Evolution ICS ROM all this time and would be nice to move up to JB if there is a stable one out there
Have you tried vincom's cm build? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886009 its very stable. Been using it for 9 days now without a single SOD or RR. To get the best results I recommend using TWRP. Just head over to the play store and download GooManager. Open, grant superuser, hit menu, then click on "install open recovery script". Go through the prompts and it will download and install TWRP. The method I use for flashing was: Darkside superwipe, ROM, gapps. (I did not use the super light gapps because the home button doesn't work when I do and it doesn't auto restore my apps)

Hmm, well I got goo manager and its now stuck on the TWRP's boot screen and just reboots after so long of sitting there :/ and its already deleted the rom, so I guess I have to go through the CWM rooting proceeders again?
Well I have managed to get CWM5 back on it and got a working ROM for now but it seems when I do the method you imply it flukes and freezes at the TWRP boot screen. I followed ye the best way possible, maybe there is an alternative way?
I have tried installed Vincom's JB all versions and it comes back as error then aborts install or it installs but sits at initial boot for more than 25min and does nothing I've found that while the warning say give it 10min to boot is generally just a 'just in case' scenario since the T989's processors are considerably powerful.
I have tried to get the ROM onto the phone's internal memory and install from there like Vincom said but the computer won't read the phone for some reason >.<
i would say, to use twrp and download the latest cm10 Here.
i recommend twrp for stable flashing cause there's bugs in latest cwm...

Not entirely true. Contrary to what everyone has been saying, and im not trolling just saying from personal experience - cwr 5.0.2.7 and dark side wipes have yet to give me problems I was on the majority if not all jb roms with no issues other than rr/sod which was before the kernel fix.
I'm a noob and expect that 90% of the people here kno more than I do but I wish someone could explain to me why the scripts and cwr 5027 are suddenly so bad.

CWR 5027 isn't bad at all it's just that using darkside scripts with certain new recoveries has caused some people boot loops and also with the newer recoveries they aren't required since the built in wipe options work just fine.Personally I use the recovery here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1844637
and have had zero issues with it plus it has the darkside scripts built in

I would recommend trying either AOKP OFFICIAL Build 5 (not sure if by time you read this if theres a newer one) or a CM10 Nightly. I've tried tons of different JB roms from 4.1 to 4.1.2 and those work good. Decent battery life without changing too many settings (I'm afraid to change too many things because I've hard bricked my phone before but barely got it replaced under the 20 day full exchange warranty). No random reboots or force closes for me so far. Highly recommend trying them out, very simple to flash.
Been on the official aokp and its amazingly stable better then anything jb rom I tried on the s2 battery is excellent too

Actually... I have CMW6 now the touch one. Does that have something to do with it? The main issue I have with SBean and CM9's JB is eveyrone complains that they can't hear me, that I sound like a robot and the call is badly broken up or that I'm not speaking up like my mic isn't picking up on my voice very well.
Is this a ROM error or a kernel error? rather annoying frankly @[email protected]

This is a sure fix then? This would make me the happiest Porsche Husky on Earth if I could go back to Sbean
The customization features of it are to die for
Ooooo, wait a tic... I feel like such n00b now...
I kept downloading V1 thinking it was the newest one xD I think the V6 at the way bottom is the newest one. I'll try that for a few days then report back.
Edit: QUESTION - my screen is flickering (just installed SBEAN V6)... is that a bad install or did I have to fix permissions?
That pretty common in most JB rom but it usually goes away after few mins for me. You can go to settings and then developer options then disable hw overlay but you would need to do it on every boot because it won't stick after a reboot.
Btw you should check out official aokp-milestone-1 it not on here but Google aokp and download the one for our phone. Its pretty sick and stable.

So I've been running ViperInc 1.2 for a while but wanted to switch back to CM9. I downloaded the Anti Venom wiper tool, cleared everything in recovery, flashed CM9, flashed gapps and fired it up. For a day or two everything ran fine. Then the s hit the fan. My phone basically froze. I basically froze because it still ran, but at less than a snail's pace. Even shutting down and rebooting wouldn't work. My phone would say "shutting down" and then hang. I had to pull the battery in order to restart. But then all I got was boot loops. Boot up, run like molasses for 2 minutes then reboot. So I tried a new CM9 flash, no luck...then I tried Condemned Soul's AOKP ROM, no luck with that. So now I'm back on ViperInc. No big deal it's a great ROM, but I think I prefer CM9. I've got the latest ICS radio.
Any thoughts what might be causing the CM9/AOKP issues
Thanks.
Has anyone ever tried to go from viper to cm7 then to cm9 ?

If you are running stock rooted 4.1.2 UVMC6 on a SGH-t989, pull out your battery while the phone is on. Now, can you get past the 4G screen? If you can, is everything now FC on you?
This is frustrating. It seems all runs SO PERFECTLY. Until I pull my battery on the stock rooted 4.1.2. Then my phone will not boot or will not boot properly.
Anyone else have this?
*edit* Jamison's Infamous CACHE wipe fixed it. I ran the cache wipe script under TWRP. The phone rebooted itself. I waited a few minutes and it worked!!!
Get the script here!

I'll try this next time. I'm tired of restoring my phone just to have it randomly die. A few days later.
This time I restored with the stock rooted deodexed rom and not ODIN. Maybe it'll keep working...
Funny thing though. The ODIN stock for SGH-t989 works GREAT (minus one wierd FC ridden boot that fixed itself) on my wife's SGH-i727 Skyrocket. WiFi calling and all.

Why are do doing a battery pull? You can't power off normally? If the phone is freezing just hold the power button in for about ten seconds, and it will do a reboot no matter what it's frozen on. Then when it reboots you can do a normal reboot or power off.

Thats where it runs into problems. I get to the 4G screen and 99% on the loading bar. Then it just stays there no matter what. Battery pull. Power button reset. Nothing. Oh well. I am hoping someone can help me ASAP as I am about to go out of town. I was trying flash Death Star V 3.5 and V3.6. I was previously using Wicked. I did a full wipe then flashed V 3.5, then the V3.6 update, and also flashed Ktoonz kernel. It is booting up fine but it force closes on the 1st settings screen and I cannot get past the menu. I have tried doing it 3 different times and also tried without flashing the kernel just in case that was the problem but nothing helps. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thanks in Advance.

Flash the 3.5 ROM first, set up, then flash the 3.6 afterwards. That's how I fixed it, and I'm loving this ROM. Screen off plus v6 = .08 battery loss an hour!
