here is a good place to start......
i always delete ANYTHING that says the word "widget" in it. with the exception of your google search widget
all the live wall papers
all weather crap
all yahoo crap
kies
the stock browser - i hate it
the calculator
s memo
other small things i can't remember. but those are all safe to remove

How do you all uninstall these?
I mean what is the best practice methods... I'm guessing Freeze then Uninstall using Titanium?

I've heard titanium is the best way to uninstall because it will get rid of "unnecessary" directories.

You can delete with a file explorer and then wipe the dalvik cache

Cool, that's what I thought and have used.
Good post, I was curious about what apps are "safe" to nuke myself.

Removable bloat ware ICS

Now that we have achieved root in ICS , shall we start a safelist of stock apps we can remove without ill effect?
feel free to submit your list. crossix you might already have a safe list and would love it here if you see this thread
I just rooted today but am at work so I will edit my post later with my list once I can take a closer look.

Why not just use ICS built in disable app functionality? I have disabled a number of apps and it seems great!

well i always have been more of a fan of using titanium backup to completely get rid of bloat. also i dont believe you can disable a system installed app even with root. titanium can delete anything :-D

I didn't think there was too much bloat on the A100, even with the ICS upgrade, apart from Aupeo, Acer Media and a couple other apps I barely notice them. Nigh on a stock build, thankfully
What apps did you uninstall and how did you get them uninstalled? I just uninstalled several of them with Titanium Backup, but when I rebooted they were still there. Some of them I was not able to uninstall, error message Cannot remove system app. Failed to locate the apk file.
Use Root Explorer and delete the applications contained in the location: /Flexroom.

Bloatware

I'm going to be rooting mine and my girlfriends phone in the next few days. I wanted to see about removing the Bloatware on the phones once they are rooted. Is there anything special I need to download to be able to remove them? I have most of them disabled but would like to totally get rid if them. I searched all over for an answer but was unable to find one.
Thanks in advance.

Titanium backup. Just download it from the play store and that will do the trick. Search the forum to see which apps are safe to remove tho.

Titanium backup. It allows you to uninstall anything. If you are not sure about a program, you can freeze it, which will not allow the program to run, then if no problems occur it can be uninstalled. if you search, you can find an ongoing list of programs safe to delete
Thank you guys, I ended up getting the pro version and will search for that list of apps you talkrd about and go from there.

Thanks, I didn't know I could do that with tb gonna try it

You can't do that with TB. Find these bloatware-free ROMs in the android dev forum.

Root explorer or ES file explorer and delete apps you don't want in /system/ app

Mind you, for system apps you will need root access.
Titanium backup and root paid version just freeze them.

What bloatware do you think is in your Nexus 7 anyway? Just disable them using the built-in mechanism, no need to remove anything.
Yea I've compiled aroma installers just for removing bloatware but this is usually carrier related garbage or touchwiz/motoblur/sense stuff. None of that exists here so I wouldn't even spend the time creating that. I don't think there is any bloatware here just maybe "unwanted" apps. which once rooted can be easily removed or just frozen/disabled.
where are bloatwares in a stock jellybean rom?simply deactivate what you don't want\like..no need to cancel..for example a rom like bamf has built-in the tool to deactivate system\apps.very usefull for a person in yours position..
As a matter of interest what apps/files can be frozen via titanium? Anyone got a list of which are safe to remove?

I'm interested in this too. My device isn't yet rooted. You can force stop apps from settings but I believe they start up again at reboot which is annoying. Maybe time to root my device!

NO! There is a Disable button on the same screen with the Force Close that disables apps since ICS.

Just disable them in the APP Manager, view all, find the one you don't want, click on it, then disable it. it won't show in the app drawer either.
it's part of JB.
:silly:
Yeah same here... reset phone bang back those 2 apps, time to root and remove

I froze them just fine with TB...Did you try "Chuck Norris mode" because mine is enabled?
also battery life is not bad. I dont notice a difference from stock rooted ICS to stock rooted JB. Almost 2 days with low/moderate use...still have 8% remaining.
edit: they came back after a few minutes. Lol... Idk.... Uninstall them?

[Q] De-bloating OTA 4.3

Hello Everyone,
Since it looks like I will be stuck on OTA 4.3 version for awhile,I might as well play with it for awhile... I was just wondering what would be the best way to de-bloat this sucker? I am rooted already and have CWM 6.0.4.3 installed. Has there been a script developed already like Ashman's for this new version?
Thank you in advance!

I haven't seen one yet but you can definetly delete carrier apps like my account etc and google apps like google maps safely.
Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
Also, make sure you make a nandroid backup before you delete any system files with titanium. There is no other way to go back if you delete the wrong app and/or softbrick.

I haven't seen a new list or script. An old list I came across has a post to a docs spreadsheet for the SGS3
docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?pli=1&key=0AqTvctlW89DtdC1qVUlLeVFTV3ZOdUtDclpBdVRQOUE&f=true&noheader=true&gid=0

Please understand that I am not vouching for anything on that list, even the things I have frozen with TiBu
Thank you all for your help with this. I got rid of a bunch of apps I didn't want and things are running smoothly

I have found as others have if you turn off Paper Artist that Gallery force closes when you attempt to share a picture. Not sure if using Tibu will cause the same issue, I haven't re-rooted yet. You may want to test if you got rid of Paper Artist. Just a thought.

I uninstalled a bunch of stuff and was getting a bunch of force closes. I then decided to switch to quantum room and kernel for the debloating they did and the speed and reliability
