My battery seems to drain very fast.
The phone is brand new, and I'm not able of getting more than 12 hours with one charge.
I'm using lowest brightness possible, wifi ON only when needed, 3G on only when needed (The rest of the time it stands connected by EDGE, updating whatsapp and checking emails and twitts each 15 minutes), bluetooth off, gps off and autosync off.
When I'm sleeping it dischargues 3% per hour!
I have installeed juice defender, battery calibrator and battery graph.
Is this normal?
Any help?
Battery reaches 100% at 4,2V
Which Rom, kernel, etc do you use?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
Thats not normal.
Maybe you should look for some apps installed, which dont let your phone fall into deep sleep....

I had an app once called android assistance r something like that and it killed my battery. I went to bed and battery was at 94% and when i woke it was at 2%. Unistalled straight away lol. And like matdroid says, what rom u using coz sense roms aint battery friendly.

I have been testing with differents roms.
That test was done using stock 2.2 rom . Could it make that big difference?
Have installed leedroid, oxygen, sandvold 0.8 and CM7 RC2.. But haven't had time to test them properly. I hope the reason of this battery drain is the ROM .
The only program (I think) is running all the time is Whatsapp. And it works fine with EDGE. Twitter and emails are set to update each 15minutes thanks to JuiceDefender.
I`d recommend to try with a different battery, see if there is any difference.
U could also look into trying a different kernel, most roms these day come with a choice of a few kernels.

Here is the status of my battery.
Let me know if it's ok.
This was using Oxygen COS GB (17-04-2012 built)
It's in spanish (Pantalla) is screen and voz is voice.
Are you happy with that drain?
Obviusly I'm not happy. But what can I do? I have tried almost everything.
Please help.
Please post the time the display was on plus your brightness-setting.
Dear friends,
Here are the stats again,
This time it lasted more time because it included the time when I was sleeping.
See attached pictures.
The battery still drains fast.
Best regards.
I have also the same problem. Today it lasted for 8h.
I bought a new battery 2 weeks ago, so it can't be that. I've cleared battery stats with 4EXT Recovery and done also clean wipe when changed the rom to RSK 7.4.3.
Before that I had RevolutioN 4.0, but when i updated from 3.0 to 4.0, the battery problem started. I don't if it's just a coincidence. 3.0 worked perfectly, and it's a shame, that i haven't got this work ever since =7 "If it works, don't fix it"
On RSK, what i have now, i use snq kernel (installed the kernel on RSK installation).
//EDIT:
Oh yeah, and also done all the tweaking with Deamon Controller, like on the instructions what RSK wrote on first page.
My phone lasts 12 hour when I don't use massive data.
I tried different kernels and finally found that the ManU is the most battery friendly for me.
I don't use any optimization app, which I find quite useless, I just use two profiles in setcpu:
screen on: 1152 Mhz, governor performance
screen off: 422 Mhz, governor powersave
I prefer a more responsive phone than a longer battery life.

First, try to turn of data connection when you're not using it.
Then try to do this:
-use your phone until you drain the battery
-turn of the phone and connect it to charger and leave it to charge 10-12 hours
-disconnect the charger, turn on the phone and use it until the battery falls down for a few percents
-turn it off again, reconnect to charger and leave it to charge for about an hour
-disconnect, boot into recovery and wipe battery stats
-turn the phone one and use it, you should notice the difference.

I red that thread before and I know what you wanna say, but my point was first part with charging, not deleting battery stats. It just has some connection with the structure of Li-ion batteries. It is also recommended to completely discharge the battery and recharge it with the phone turned off once a month.
Thanks for your answers.
Screen is on a lot of time (in the screenshots I posted you can see).
But I use lowest brightness possible, between 10 and 20% when I'm indoors and only high values when the sun hits the screen.
pieru, can you post the ManU kernel link?
I don't know what kernel i'm using, i installed Oxyged cosed (I think last version) fropm roalex. How can I know?
Thanks nlooooo.

Hi guys im wondering who else have a really really battery life, it drops so quick :S
i have brightness low,and seems its draining fast. i tried stock for a little and seems it drops not so fast but still fast, i compare with my old evo and wow was a beast it can last tooo long before drop 1% and htc one X its giving me so much issues i tried insert one coin, and im now on leedroid (seems better) i have to get juice defender ( i never have to use) using hard my old phone (EVO 3D) drops like 50% in 4 hours of Hard use, 2.5 hours bluetooth headsetplaying music, some browsing, whatsapp, twitter and facebook. sometimnes drop 60% its not so bad, perhaps yesterday in almost the same time and doing a lot less drop from 70% to 0% idk what happening or if this is normal because screen? anyone has this issue?
or maybe we can do a "test" maybe playing a video for 30 min or something wifi on, just to test.
Maybe could be my radio? im using HK htc one X in mexico, the 3G works great perhaps could drain more battery?
Any help i will apreciate thanks a lot, i love the phone but this sucks
Regards

screen on time?
Drain the battery completely and then charge for at least 8 or more hours, use the phone as normal and let it drain completely again and then charge for a minimum of 3 hours, after a couple of days it should last longer and if you can or need to upgrade to the latest OTA then do so.

well that is not really helping him is it. no point you telling him you getting that kinda of use of out the battery..it is like rubbing it in his face
but anyway 3g does drain battery specially if the signal is low and it is trying to find the best possible signal for you. only use it when you need it. same goes for wifi. for wifi i would have it to sleep when screen is off.
have a look in the battery stats thread and few people give tips in there on how to extend the battery life mate.

if i was you i would not let it drain completely..let it die down to say 5% i would then fully charge it like overnight. then go here install that apk and once you have fully charged let the battery drain again. once it drains to say 15% check what wakelocks you have. that will help you see where the issue lies and the battery gets drained..better explanation on the thread i gave you the link of mate

if your carrier still shows that you have updates then i would say do that as well mate. radio as far as i know we can not flash just as yet as we need s-off to do that so your best bet is the OTA if you are not on the latest firmware
Wait & see what the battery lasts like after a couple of days of charge & discharge, mine was poor on the first day.
I always try to charge mine up over night & my battery lasts on average 40 - 48 hours now.
The other day i had wi fi on & gps on read some of a book, 3 or 4 calls 5 messages & used a gps app for a while had just over 2 hours of screen on time & after 14 hours still had 60% battery left.
There is no reason why your phone wont get that after a couple of days, hope it is the case for you
Estoy orgulloso que tenemos mexicanos que tienen un One X
Hopefully as updates come, battery life will improve
I´ve been using the HOX for 5 days and it does get better after you run some cycles, but I still find it´s not as good as the battery life on the GS2 I used to have (I was running the Illusion rom).
With the GS2 I would leave the brightness at full blast, I would watch about 1 hour of video, I would use the calendar a lot, I would make a couple of calls and by 19h when I got home my battery would be around 80%. I do the exact same things on the HOX and I get a little less than 70% at the end of the day.

Is this possible on phones with clockwork recovery? My phone turns on automatically when it's got some charge
Hi, now that i have your attention!
I have cm7.2 democracy on my gio
I barely use it for wifi or gaming now because the battery is S**t.
I had 2.3.6 GB before and battery could take out 2 days on games and music. Now suddenly after switching to cm7.2 i need to charge it twice a day without using any app or game. just some texting like 10, 12.
I use ondemand governor and max freq is 806 min is 245
Also a couple of times i have seen that when my battery is at 30% and charge it then within 5-10 minutes it showed 100% charged. Unplug the charger.
Any suggestions or something on this? I really need an answer guys. Thanks

No one has found a solution 'till now?I'll try to use ODIN and go back to stock version, maybe that will help. Has anyone had those battery problems before using a custom ROM?with stock my battery used to last 2 days with games and music etc, now I can only use it for 5 hours without any games or music or internet. It also charges from 0 to 100% in 30 minutes , maybe less. I'm still hoping someone found a solution for this problem because it is useless to have a phone without any battery.
Try to get a new battery because huge draining problem is not caused by roms it caused by battery damage.my battery runs on stock rom over the 10days without using anything but on cm9/10 roms it drains faster but still runs more than 3days for me.
so no one got it?
Thank God I am not the only one here
But guys, I have been using stock GB for an year. Its been only a week on cm7.2 democracy and nightly.
Both have same battery issues and non of this happened in stock
It's not the battery issue.its something else. I'm sure
Have you tried going back to stock version using ODIN?I think that is the ultimate solution before sending my phone to service(I still have warranty).

Try to "recalibrate" your battery; in cwm theres an option "wipe battery stats". some say its nonsense, some say it really helps; i would give it a try.
No idea if theres an option with stock roms, though.....
I'm calibrating now...Will post the result in a while. (Tomorrow i guess)
I still couldn't solve this..I flashed the stock firmware with ODIN and still no luck, I'm starting to think it is a hardware problem, maybe I will send the phone to service now that I have the stock firmware back. Has anyone found any solution?
Hey, i found this article
For the users who like to try out new ROMs very often or by default Android receives updates to Android very often. These updates re constantly pushed to the users to provide the better experience to the users. For those who flash their mobile handset with custom ROM they are advised to charge their handset to 100 % battery life and then proceed with the upgrade processor. That is advised because if you have 50 % of battery life and proceed with firmware update, the new custom ROM will consider 50 % battery life as the full battery stats and this will provide half the battery life then earlier as specified by your phone manufacturer. In those cases you need to go with the battery calibration to gain 100 % battery backup as specified by your provider. There is complete procedure on how you will calibrate your phone battery is mentioned by us and if you would like to make the process very much easier then you can make use of a specially designed application which calibrates your battery. (Battery Calibration)
Okay so i flashed a new custom rom with 100% battery but no luck on battery issue. Its still draining the same.
then i calibrated my battery with this app with my battery at 100% which of course is 50% as said by this article, the app said "Your battery has been calibrated by 6%". Don't know what that means.
ANY HELP? DEVELOPERS PLEASE GUYS!
Try to calibrate it too.It may fix it.

I have the same issue, I am using CM10.1 RC0 by Olddroid but I think my problem is the charger. For the last month I charged my Gio using the usb connection from PC. Now, if I use the charger the battery drains faster than charging with the usb connection method. I am gonna buy a 1500 mAh battery and hope to solve this problem.
I've searched the internet for that problem and found nothing so I'm trying my luck here.
My battery precantages is not linear at all.
When I'm discharging the phone from 100% to 0% the precantages drop really quickly until 5%-9% (Disabled battery saver when cross 15% of course) and then the precatnges seems to stop draining and every precantage last longer and longer until it gets to 0%.
From 100% to 0% I've got 2:45 screen time in my last test but between 100% to 5% it was only 2:15 screen time!
Meaning that every precent lower than 5% last 6 mins vs. every precent above 5% last 1.35 mins.
It's very annoying and happened to me also on unrooted ICS and then on unrooted JB and also on every rom-kernel combination I ever tried after I rooted my phone. (ARHD, OrDroid, Maximus, CM10.1, Renovate + NCX, XM, Komzik and stock of course).
Do you think its a hardware issue? Do I need to replace the battery? Or it's a common problem of HTC One X?
It's not a problem, it's a feature.
Why does it irritate you?

How's that a feature if power saver is off? Don't get the idea. I prefer that every precent will be equal. It decreases screen time alot if you don't reach the last precents. By half an hour! That's absurd.
Every precent can be 1.65 mins of screen time and by the time I will reach 10% I will have 2:28 screen time instead of just 2:10.
If it's really a feature so it's a bad one, How I can disable it?

So if it has nothing to do with my problem what does? I already installed various of roms with various of kernels and the problem persists. I have already full wiped everthing for too many times. Maybe it is an hardware fault of the battery indicator or somthing like that?
A ROM or kernel won't change it, the battery itself indicates what's remaining. I guess the lookup table or whatever is not well calibrated for the cells in your battery.
Get over it, it's not a big deal, you can't fix it other than replacing the battery, but that's not guaranteed.
To me, any HTC One X that lasts about 6 hours with 3 hours of maximum screen time has a hardware issue.
I have similar problem ever since I bought the phone last May.
Just by looking at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2156311 makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with the phone itself.

Yup! Turning off all sensors, GPS, data doesn't help.
When one turn off the screen at eg. 70% then turning back the screen on after an hour of sleep time, it will drop to 65% or worse. Always made me mad when that happens.
Even any battery saving guides like getting rid of wakelocks doesn't help.
I usually get 5 hr screen time but depends a lot on what you do. 3G data drains battery faster than WiFi, GPS doesn't drain battery unless an app uses it, etc.
I've been having this problem for a while and I thought everyone with the G3 had the same problem until last night I was doing a little research and figured out that most people get 1 or 2 % drop on their battery over night whereas I get, from close to a full charge, 100% battery loss. It's frustrating me now because I want to set an alarm for the morning and it wont stay on to go off. And according to my battery usage I get barely 3 hours on a full charge. on my girlfriends G3 the line for her graph goes almost straight across off the page.
Also; I'm using two batteries for this phone and a battery charger that I got when thIs first started happening. The second battery for my phone is a 4,500 mAh that I swap with the default 3,000 mAh when the battery dies so I don't have to constantly charge my phone. And even on the 4,500 mAh I still get about the same usage, around 3 hours and 20 minutes.
Is there a fix to this ? I'm on verizon.
Any help or comments are appreciated. Thank you !
( I was going to link a photo from tinypic but apparently I can't do that until 10 posts lol )

you need:
1. root your device
2. install a custom recovery (TWRP)
3. Flash compatible kernel with your device.
In "g3 general" section you will find guides to help you
Do you have root ? I would suggest you try installing BetterBatteryStats to see what's draining your battery. Search here on xda and you will find the free download link. Post the results here so we can help.
