Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Perhaps a change of heart at HTC after too many ROM's with ICS and Jelly Bean making them look stupid?
I must say after a Jelly Bean upgrade (Thanks Randomblame!) my DHD has never worked so well.
I hope HTC would wake up and finally give at least ICS

well i have heard there were kernel issues with putting ics on the dhd but as we have seen in the custom roms its possible so maybe htc will actualy listen to the developers and do something
htc are in such a bad place financially right now, i dont think that they are going to dedicate any resources to updating their old phones :crying:. But, with a such amazing devs, the dhd has life in it yet
Why are they in a bad financial crisis? Cause they fooled their desire HD customers for 6 months promising ICS kernel and then made a public announcement that desire HD is good as it is. What about everyone who bought desire HD believing it would receive ICS?
Almost all desire HD customers upgraded to something non HTC.
Well that's true.
Thanks god for randomblames jellytime! I am so content with his Rom! Install it! Its the best for your DHD.

I just noticed today on htcdev.com I you filter for "other" in the downloads, they've released the ICS RUU for Desire S, Incredible S and Rhyme because some people were happier with GB so they made the upgrade optional now - no via OTA.
I don't get my they just didn't do the same to DHD, then again they did promise a TB update but just decided not to ever mention it again!

Not for CDMA. Lord knows when 2.2 is actually going to be released to us. Supposedly it was supposed to be by the end of this month, but you can obviously tell that it won't come that soon.

I'm hearing of some unbranded UK Desires receiving an OTA update to Gingerbread, has anyone else seen this? Nothing on mine yet, and since it's unbranded I imagine it's not a staggered rollout.
Anyone know what's going on, or are my sources false?
I've not heard anything to maybe a fail. I guess if you find HTC's RUU then it will be rolling out soon. About now is when it's rolling out so maybe so.
Well after some checking I can confirm that a desire, possibly on TMob got a system update a couple days ago, but can't confirm whether it was 2.3 or just a pre update of some sort, also not sure if the desire is branded or not.
unfortunately the phone is a work phone that my friend doesn't have currently so can't get any more details at this moment.
Nothing here. Unbranded handset :-(

HTC Official Update
I received the following email today from HTC Customer Care in response to a question as to when they will fix the widely reported Google leak (potential security flaw in Android).
In regards to your last response, in order to to get the security update when it is being issued, you have to have a base of the 2.3 Gingerbread update on your handset, in which case will be released this summer for devices such as HTC Desire.
Currently we do not have a specific date as to when the 2.3 will be released for other handsets as at this time the update is only being issued to HTC Desire HD and HTC Incredible S.
summer? geeez... I thought it was going to be anytime soon this month... Bit fed up of waiting...

Check my sig. I can't say I noticed something actually does not work, which I can say for some other roms people swore are rock stable, but it drains battery and there is obvious lag especially with alternative launchers and animations. That said, I can cope with some lag, but I can't cope with memory leaks, bootloops, ads etc.
So you can't just yet say it is as it is meant to be, but it comes to that this actually works. Not extra smooth, but it does.

Hi everyone
Over the next few days I am going to be uploading every WFS roms and kernels including CDMA roms and I will be posting an application that will notify you on an update instead of you checking the threads all the time .
If a dev wishes I do not upload the roms etc to my server just send me a pm and ill skip your item/s
I will also be putting up tweaks that can be flashed via recovery so in other words its going to be a WFS repo do to speak so if users want to make use of this run this program to add the application and build.prop line.
Application being made
No link yet
If I do not get a request from a developer not to put there items up then I will go ahead and upload there items.
Thanks
Eoghan

Great idea,
Tipp: add a download counter and a visitors counter to see how much people visit this site
PS. You can add my Rom
Model: Wildfire S A510e
Recovery: unofficial CWM
Rom: JxMatteo_ROM_V1. 1 with Link2sd - OC - Rooted
Need us to login & upload &/o provide fields for display (name of rom | developer or team) or.. sort (ie aosp, sense, custom | or 2.3.4, 2.3.5, 2.3.7)? A (pertinent) sorting feature (down the road even) would make it even better than the ones that won't support our devices.

More informations, mods, roms and so on will result that more people will buy this device, and with the new people will be more dev and more test and mod user. It will get popular
This is a very good idea.
I only ask that you include kernels aswell!
And remember to put who they were made by lol.

How about porting from HTC T329W RUU?
That device is also called Proto, which will be released soon and its hardware is similar to Desire. It's running on Android 4.0.4 with Sense 4.0 on WVGA. I believe its RUU would release soon, and that could be the better base to port. In terms of porting/deving, I'm afraid I can hardly help except for testing it after work.

Hi!
I am trying to get EAP-SIM for my phone (an lg optimus 2x), but it seems that it is not been activated on the drivers...
And I just found out that the HTC Desire Z has the same Wifi driver than my phone!
Also, that the HTC Desire Z with CSI 4.0.4 from htc_wwe release (HTC normal ROM) has the ability of getting the Eap-Sim connection!
So I was wondering if some one would be kind enough as to send me their file of wpa_supplicant which can usually be found at: /system/bin/wpa_supplicant
So that I can test with my phone...
Thanks!
Are you sure that you mean the desire z ? Not maybe the T-Mobile g2x ? The DZ doesn't have official ICS from HTC.

Well following the information here,
It states: HTC HTC Desire Z 4.0.4 htc_wwe 2/2
Meaning that HTC Desire Z with a 4.0.4 htc_wwe works with EAP-Sim
But since I don't own one... I can't be sure of this
Must be a typo cuz there are newer HTC phones that still only run gb
Sent from my GT-P3110 using xda app-developers app

But you could try it with a bin file of a custom ROM. If you want one I can send it to you.
