If you hold down the back button, (bottom right) of the capacitive buttons, it should bring it back.

Hello to eveybody,
I have installed the Gingerbread on my TP2, it’s working well. I am very satisfied with it.
I only have one annoying problem; when I installen the Froyo bundle, I could close the app en go back to the home screen, with the END CALL button. Now on the Gingerbread, the same button, closes the screen. It have now the same function as the power off button, at the top of my phone.
Can I change the function of this button? I want the function back, that closes the app and go back to the home screen. No I need to use the BACK button, to close the program en go to the home screen. But this is’nt usefull, sometimes I need to use this button 4 times, until I get back to the home screen.
I hope there is somebody who can help me.
Kernel version 2.6.27.46-01276-g6a6a1c1
Build full_msm-userdebug 2.3.3 GINGERBREAD engbryan.20110311.162413 test-keys
Addition on my post above..
With the end call button, i mean the button at the bottom of the phone, not a button on the screen but below, next to the GO BACK hard-button.
I didn't use Gingerbread but did you try the newest kernel and rootfs. Does it work on Gingerbread? If it works, you may get your home button back then.
Go to your AndroidApps folder on the SD card. then go to Others. copy the SPareParts.apk and paste it in the ANdroid Apps folder. that will allow you to change the mapping of the end button
Hello All,
I've conceded the fact that the phantom presses from capacitive buttons occur and cannot be stopped so I rooted my device (and commented the use of the search and menu button to be benign / vestigial). I am realizing home much I need to use the menu button. I attempted to use a program that put up a on screen menu but I just disliked it. I also to use launch key, but it only impact the long press of the search button which is already turned off.
Is there anyway to remap the longpress of home to act as a menu button?
Best,
Norman
I have replaced the screen on my Optimus G (E975k, Telstra) and the menu button works whilst the back is off, but as soon as I put the back on, the menu button doesn't work... super annoying!
I'm not sure if my clumsy attempts to replace the screen have damaged the synaptics ribbon and the cover going on puts pressure in the right spot to stop the ribbon cable making the connection for that button or what, but I'm looking for help getting around this.
Is there a way to make longpress on back arrow to open the menu, if so then 90% of my problems are solved, I can force the onscreen nav buttons to show up and that is great but it seems like a waste of space if I can work around it with a back button long press... I tried a few key remapping apps but they do not seem to be able to do what I want to do... if there is a custom rom that would support this then I would just flash that I guess.
Anyway, help from anyone would be appreciated
Thanks
EDIT: Okay so I edited /system/usr/keylayout/keypad_8064.kl
changed
Key 115 VOLUME UP
to
Key 115 MENU VIRTUAL
This allows me to use the volume up button as the menu button, so I'm out of trouble, but I would still like to map back button long press to the duty rather than lose my volume up button.
Hey man, if ur on stock i think u can use xposed modules for long press behaviors and custom button actions.. Usr gravity box etc.. If u like custom rom, many offer custom button actions

Hi All,
My unit is the 7" double din with the captive touch buttons on the left (Power, Back, Vol up & Vol down).
I was going through the factory settings and played with the touch calibration settings. I was attempting to remap my power button to something else, but all I have managed to do is remove all mapping for these 4 buttons.
When I go in to the section to re-map these, pressing the buttons has no effect.
I saw a couple of videos where after re-calibrating the touch screen (top left then top right) the mapping page for these buttons comes up, this doesn't happen on mine (maybe because Android 8?)
Can someone please let me know what I have to do to get these buttons back to how they were?
Cheers,
Kris

Maybe I was getting that second screen and just going straight to "save exit".
It was very late by the time I got to this point. I'll try again soon and report back.
Thanks.
The above worked. Thanks again.
