[Q] NO Volume for any app - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I have t-mobile galaxy note 2 fr a week and today all of sudden, there is no volume from speaker for any app
like
key toch tone,
booting screen, shutdown screen music
play video on video player or you tube
ringtone when somebody calls
I attach headset,i can here voice but without that no volume for any app.
I also tried with and without WIFI - volume setting is all ok ( keep max or change to mid - but no luck)
I already try hard reset but no luck. It is NOT rooted.
any input will be great - last i will try to get replacement for this

When you hit volume up, then hit the settings cog next to the volume sliding bar, can you manipulate the sound there?

thanks for reply. that give same option to configure sound.
no luck
I feel it is speaker issue ( hardware)

I would try a master reset, if that didn't work then it's time for a trip to TMo for a replacement.

Let us know what the problem was when you figure it out.

Music Player / Answer Calls

I've been playing with my Defy for a while, and I've not found any Mp3Player that can do play/pause/next with the included headset AND ALSO answer calls when they come in with the same button.
I used to have a Nokia 5800 which had an awesome headset with play|pause|next|previous|stop|answercall buttons.
I've been unable to find something like that for Defy (android really), is this an "issue" or does it have a solution?
Thanks in advance to whoever helps
Can't say for sure they work as mine haven't arrived yet but Zagg Smartbuds are suppose to be able to do that using multiple presses and long presses & an analog volume control

Thanks for the answer, can you post your results when you receive them?
It's funny cause MY headset on a Galaxy S with Winamp configured exactly the same, actually goes to the next song with double press, but not in my defy.
Hope yours work fine =) I want to be able to at least skip songs and also answer/hang up from the headset=)
Got my ZaggSmartBuds today and had a chance to play with them. At 1st I wasn't real happy with them as all I could do was pause the misic and if I did anything else like long press or double press it would open up the other players I had installed. So I started gettting rid of them one my one, I had Mixing, Songbird, & Tunewiki, plus the stock music app.
I don't remember which one I think it was Tunewiki with nothing else installed when you douple clicked or long clicked it would bring up the voice command app. Didn't try answering the phone as it didn't work the music apps well. Un-install all of those and installed PowerAmp and now I can answer the phone, music pauses when the call come in, answered it by pressing the button on the headset. Music returns at the end of the call when the party hangs up or you press the button again.
Long press and it will skip the playing song and go to the next one. There are some options in PowerAmp to set the button to Double/Triple click, so you can go forward or reverse didn't try that option.
The SmartBuds came with 2 sizes for foam ear pieces and 3 sizes or silcone ear pieces with a nice little hard shell zipper case to carry them in. I liked the volume control inline even though it was analog I didn't have to adjust the volume on the phone from it's normal setting yet I could still adjust the volume or mute it. I didn't have to turn the volume down for the call as it was to loud but was able to do that with the inline control. The buds have amazing sound. It takes a little practice to inset the buds in my ears as they are angled once I got the hang of it they slipped right in.
Hope that answered your question
Hi,
As gramps50 wrote above, with PowerAmp you can set up in the option to : play or stop the music with the handset button, when a call is coming, the music stops and you can answer with the same button. When you finish your call, the music restarts automatically.

Thanks both for the input.
I'll give that a try. It still amazes me that a BASIC functionality like the Nokia headsets include, does not seem to be available on this phone! it's really weird!
App called Handset Button Controller maybe help you.

[Q] Volume stuck on call volume.

My volume buttons will only adjust the call volume, even when I'm not in a call.
Yesterday I was listening to music and tried to adjust the volume from the lockscreen, but when I did the phone adjusted the phone volume instead. So I went into my music player app and tried there, same result. I pressed the volume again, and this time expanded the volume panel, and was able to adjust the volume from there. I then started playing around with the volume to see what it would do. I toggled vibrate/mute and the volume panel showed no change in the phone volume. It was after this that I noticed that the label on the volume panel next to what was normally the ringtone volume read "call volume" instead. I figured it was a weird one-time glitch, so I rebooted. No change. Pulled the battery, success! But a few minutes later I had the issue again. Hard reset again, same result. So it seems my phone thinks it is always in call.
I can only adjust music volume from the panel and only adjust ringer volume from the sound settings.
Any ideas as to why it is doing this?
Problem solved!
Apparently having www.weavesilk.com open in my chrome browser was causing the problem. I closed the weavesilk tab and my volume works just fine now. Weird.

HELP!!! Low Volume problem on my N7?

I have a problem with my N7 2013
All of sudden the volume doesn't work, well is working but the volume is very very low when I go to YouTube the audio is very low and the dock and keyboard sound I can't bearly hear it. I just check in setting and the media and other volumes are at max and I did a reboot and nothing.
Also when I press the volume button it shows a phone (picture down below)
All of this happens today. I don't know if this have to do with a Bluetooth keyboard I bough today (minisuit keyboard for the N7)

Help With Volumes
When you are turning the volume up, tap that small icon on the right and it will bring up the other volumes and then just slide the volume bars to the volume you want.
If you want to turn up, main volume the one with the speaker icon is the one you want
The screenshot you have attached, bares no relevance to volume. As you cans see, that is the volume for incall volume or ringtone. Have you recently installed an app for texting or making phone calls? As above, you need to make sure you are changin your media volume, not your "phone" volume. If you have an android phone, use the volume buttons on the home screen, it will display the same slider bar in your picture. Open a game and press the volume button and it will change to the slider bar for audio output.
Yeah try hugelife advice and you see that dock sound in the screen try ticking it and trying again.

Skipping song changes volume instead

I have a US Cellular G3 and I play a lot of music. The most annoying problem I've come across is that when I hit the skip button, it just raises the volume, as if I had just hit the volume up button. And the skip back button lowers the volume. I've been using Rocket Player but I noticed this morning that it does is to the stock music app too. I've looked all over online and I haven't seen this problem pop up anywhere, so has anyone come across this problem and is there a fix for it?
Thank you kindly!
Edit: I forgot to mention that it only happens in the lock screen controls, or on bluetooth. In app works fine.

Volume Change

Hi all, I need your help!
The easiest way to change the call volume in Lollipop is to press the volume buttons. You then can change volume and vibration.
When I play a game and press the volume buttons, it changes the media volume. So far, so good. But when I leave the game and press the volume button again, it stays at changing the media volume - no chance to change call volume or vibration!
The only solution is to close all recent apps.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any way to solve it...?
Thank you!
No need to answer this anymore, I went back to 4.4!
Beside this problem the battery drain was too much. Messages in WhatsApp or Threema arrived about 30min too late. HeadsUp sucks!
I'm happy now with KitKat, won't update to lollipop anymore. I just hope for a stagefright-fix for KitKat.
