Alternative theory for delayed screen wake - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I noticed that I barely have any screen wake lag, but when my sd card is in the phone, I have noticeable screen wake lag. Every time I take my sd card out to test my theory, the lag is gone.
Can anyone else reproduce this?

I had a sd card that was going bad that play3d havoc with my first note 1. So bad I took it back and had 5he phone replaced. Only to have it happen again with the replacement. Pulledncard and replaced and never had a problem again.

well my card isn't causing any problems.. it works fine and i can access everything on it fine.. i just notice the screen lag when its in and not when its out.. simple as that.

Yeah was able to th a t with mine too. Not saying it is your issue it just happened to be mine and related it you as something you might try as pulling your card out fixes your problem.
Is it always present with the card in?

[Q] SRF 1.1.0 SD card issues?

I'm running SRF 1.1.0 and my SD card becomes unmounted randomly throughout the day. I restart my phone and it comes back, but again it will come unmounted after an undetermined amount of time. Is my SD card going bad or is it the rom?

Havnt had this problem but you may want to try and backup your SD card than reformat it than copying your backup back on to the SD card. Sometimes reformatting it fixies SD issues. Just a thought. Worth a try may fix your issues.

Definitely will do that when I get a reliable computer again. Desktop has a fried power supply and my laptop's HDD is failing. Hopefully maybe someone from ACS will take a quick peek and throw an opinion around

This isn't the ROM, it's a loose physical connector.
Thanks k0nane, I figured it might be something like that. Any way of going about fixing it? Or do I need to flash stock and bring it to the store?

For now, eject the card and firmly insert it. If it continues, yes, you need to exchange it.

Do any of the current kernals reduce/eliminate the wake lag?

Anyone know if the slow to wake problems have been eliminated on any current kernal/rom? I took my sd card out which helped a little but its still pretty bad.
What exactly is the wake lag? Are you talking a out the two seconds after pressing the power button?

I think that's what he's referring to.
Sent from the future.
That is due to the SD card check that the phone performs apparently. It's just the way samsung's phone works. Try removing the card and see if there's a difference.
And no, there is no fix for it ATM.

yeah i have the same issue, taking my sd card out made it speed up a little bit. it seems to be slower sometimes and faster others. Perhaps it's part of the cpu throttling for sleep mode? What ROM are you using? I know Calkulin's has battery saver script that throttles the cpu down pretty far for sleep mode.
Put your sd card back and flash Blazer. No lag!

[Resolved] SD card removed or blank

Occasionally, when I wake my device up I get this notification. It usually resolves in a few seconds. But twice now I've had to reboot the phone.
Anyone else seeing these messages or have an idea why I'm seeing them or what I can do to address them?

ATT exchanged my SD card. and so far problem has not reoccurred.
Seems kind of a mundane resolution, especially this card worked fine in my S3, but 24 hrs and I haven't seen the messages again.
Have you tried to reseat your card? If it's an older one, are the contacts dirty? Are you using a stock rom?

Stock rom
32gb sandisk card
Reformatted in my Note 2
The behavior is like the card is slow to wake up when the phone does.

[Q] SD Card unmounts when screen off

Does your s4 randomly reboot?

My gf got an s4 and it has randomly turned off and rebooted. She exchanged the phone once already for other issues but she says both phones were rebooting like this. She said it happens even with no apps from store installed. I thought it would be some kind of incompatible app causing an issue but maybe not. I have this phone and I am not experiencing this problem. Anybody gone through this?

Only time mine did was when i was tethering and charging, not to mention it was approx 85+ degrees. I forgot to put my icepack on it but other than that no i have not had any reboot issues. If you can easily re-create the issue, take it to a Corporate store and show them.
Has happen once with mine while i was on instagram for a bit

My wife's s3 has.this issue. Doesn't matter which ROM. Kernel from ktoonz seem to fix the reboots

I now have experienced camera failure and my gf has too.. She is in love with the phone but experiences so many problems now.. I also have pink hue on bottom half of screen.. Loose creeky frame and both original and exchanged.. She has random reboots several times.. On both her s4s.. This is getting a little out of hand..
