Almost 18 months ago I made a mistake and bought the LG optimus 2x. It had a horrible stock rom (so much lag) and a very bad battery life. Thanks to CM it is much better now. My contract is ending soon and I don't want to make another mistake like the last time.
I read a lot about the Samsung Galaxy note 2 the last couple of days and it has so many positive stuffs but I still have some questions about it
1: Some people are saying that the battery life of the note 2 is very good but I also read on this forum that some people are having bad battery life?
2: If you install an app does the note 2 lag? (yeh the lg 2x does:angel or is there any lag at all when using it?
To be true I don't see anything bad about this phone, I did read that the screen can break very easily if you let it fall but yeh that's a risk you always take.
Thank you!
1. Great battery life, don't think you can get better battery life with any other handset. You can get 6-8 hr screen on time with browsing and video playback.
2. I have over 200 apps installed and it naver lagged evwn for 1 sec.
Close your eyes, buy it and remember me in your prayers for giving you a good suggestion

1. I get anywhere from 5 to 8 hours on screen time. This is the only phone I've ever had that I didn't have to worry about bringing my charger with me.
2. Installing apps doesn't slow this phone down at all. I have several installed with absolutely no lag.
Just to add, this is the best device I've ever owned. I usually switch phones every 2 to 3 months, but I really believe this device will hold me over until the Note 3 releases.
Thanks to both of you! 5,5 inch will be so awesome!
What can i say, i ordered a screen protector and i am gonna order the phone tomorrow. I still don't know which case i should get because the flip cover doesn't protect the edges at all.

I just got mine 2 days ago. I am absolutely STUNNED by the battery life on this thing! Yesterday I was running some N64 games while watching some tv shows at the same time and the battery levels were only crawling down. I will say it takes a while to get this thing to a full charge but man oh man is it worth it.. I went to this from an Infuse 4G and it blew my mind, you will not be disappointed with this phone! As for the screen covers, I always clutch onto my phones and work in a low pace environment so I don't have to worry about dropping it, the Samsung OEM screen cover is really nice and keeps the screen from getting scratched while in my pocket, and makes the phone just look that much more slick!
I have got mine... my battery life is a day. Gaming useage and emails. Currently on 9%. Love everything about it... the TouchWiz with note orientated features. I also have a 2X which i really loke running stock ICS from LG.
However, HTC Droid DNA or the international version looks tempting.

Thanks!
I did check the HTC Droid DNA but the battery of that device doesn't make me look amazed at all. I ordered martin fields screen protectors but it will take a while till i receive them so it's great to hear that the Samsung OEM screenprotectors are good. The only thing i am still worried about is which case i need to get. I think i will go for the flip cover of samsung.
Ordered a white Galaxy note 2! Should be here in 2 days , Thanks everyone for the advice and help!
Check out the flygrip. I'm using it on my S3 and it makes the phone so much more comfortable to hold and use one handed, I can't wait to use it on my Note 2(if Verizon ever releases the damn thing). But yeah, it actually comes with a pretty nice(free) case that covers all of the edges.

Hey guys,
Just got the mugen extended battery in the mail. Their regular shipping somehow took longer than 3 weeks and I still have not received the item, so I asked them to reship using FedEx. Guess what, it took 2 days to get to Richmond Hill, Canada, which is just north of Toronto.
Anyways, just though I'd upload some high quality pics with measurements so if any of you guys are planning on buying it, you guys have a sense of how things ll look when you get it.
Feel free to update this with your own pictures.
Update 1: More pictures of battery on phone. Post #10
________________________________________________________________________________
After using this for some times, I believe I can give a rather full rounded review of this case
Make and Looks:
After looking at the pics below, it is definitely safe to conclude that if you cannot stand additional bulk to the galaxy nexus, this extended is definitely not a recommended, as it does double the thickness of the phone. Also, this battery is not for those who are seriously concious of the way their phones look, as this is, to be honest, not the best looking extended battery pack out there.
HOWEVER, if you are like me, and enjoy funtion over form, it would be my pleasure to say that this battery is definitely recommended. The back casing of the Mugen Power battery mimicks the back of the galaxy nexus to provide users with enough grip so as to reduce the slipperiness and possibilities of drops. Also, the battery which is rated at 4000mah does add some weight to the phone, which to me is a great addition as it just feels that the phone is more secure in my hands with the added weight. The battery, when installed on the phone, depicts the resemblence of a humpback whale, which not to say is ugly in anyway, it is simply Unique. The kickstand is a bit flimsy, but that is just an additional use of the new backing to watching movies and videos, so can't complain there.Lastly, the camera holes are perfectly cut out for the 5MP camera, it does not affect picture quality in anyway, but does take away from the original good looks of the phone.
Usage
To be honest, the GNEX isn't among the top performing android handsets in the battery department. Getting through a full day with my full usage has always been a problem, no matter what brightness setting I set. Battery times for me has always been 13-16 hours with 3-4 hours standby, and that is already after using franco kernel and aokp.
Now, with the Mugen Power battery, I can say this: I have a GMAXXXXXXXXXX. The battery after 3 - 5 charge cycles is AMAZING! Unlike other cheap extended batteries, I would say that mugen lived up to their name, as this battery is more than what they described as double my battery life. With it, I get by two days with super super super heavy usage including a ton a gaming, videos, and auto-sync and wifi on 24/7. That is around 2 days 3 hours with 7-9 hours screen on with the screen at around 50% brightness!!
Would I recommend?
Yes, I would definitely recommend this extended battery to anyone out there. If the price of said Mugen Battery is within your acceptable budget limit, there is no other battery that compares to what Mugen is delivering. And as the old saying goes, "You get what you payed for".

The seido doesnt even look good on it. try the SGP Neo Hybrid, cut the back flap off, so the battery sticks through , and that way, it looks sexy and it provides the functionality you need
Also, a fellow xda member has posted a picture about how it would look

What's with the lip around the back? is it because of your cut? BTW, whats the material on the back of the seido? it doesnt look plastic..is it matte or something?
Yes it's because of the cut. I could probably cut a little more to make it more streamlined.
The seidio with NFC has a soft touch battery cover. It matches the case and feels great in the hand.

Better yet most other phones now seem extremely small. Friend of mine has an iPhone 4s and I realized last night how much smaller the screen really is. I feel spoiled now and and do not feel like I would want to go back to a smaller phone. I use this thing as my Netflix device all the time too simply because of the enormous screen size. Truly a phone of its own kind in the marketplace today. Even better it's already picking up steam with support. I am now running the cmenard ROM with multi-window functionality among all the apps. Buttery smooth and battery life is awesome as expected. Sorry, just expressing my happiness with this phone. I paid full price like most everyone else but I feel it is totally worth it!! :good:
i noticed that too after about a week of having it. when i had a vibrant the sgs 2 and 3 seemed huge compared to it, but after having the note 2 you are completely right that it feels like a normal sized phone and just makes others seem overly small in comparison.
It's funny you say that cause when I first got it I was thinking about taking it back cause I thought it was too big. But now when I hold an S3 or something similar, which I thought was the perfect size now feels so small. Go figure. Next step I'll be holding a Nexus 7 to my ear. Lol.

Yeah, me too, when I hold my GSIII it feels like a different phone lol like the mini version or something...
Funny thing is just last night I told my brother the phone does not feel so big anymore. When I held his S3 it felt like a tiny toy, and my girls iphone4 felt like my ipod touch.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Agreed, it doesn't really feel that big... until i step back and realize how large it is in my hands, but the screen is so stunning... I don't even care
This makes my old samsung precedent look like a wristwatch lol
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
I've been saying the same thing myself. The Note II feels normal to me now and every other phone seems tiny. I don't think I could go back to a smaller phone at this point honestly.
I do also like that the Note II is still somewhat slim in the width and (to me) shaped like a phone. The Note I looks a bit wider and more like a small tablet to me.
I ended up in a few Apple stores last week during a business trip to DC. In each store, my friend and I asked an Apple Genius to take our picture next to the iPhone 5. Both of the genius' were happy to snap the pics. My buddy and I both held our Note 2s next to the iPhone 5 and smiled... and watched the Genius grumble as he snapped the pic. *snicker*
Just wanna jump on the bandwagon and say that after playing with my Note 2 for a couple of week it now feels natural. The other day I went to open the casket of my GS 4G and I thought that the phone shrank, but it was actually still the same size as it was before. Haha! There is now way I'm going back to anything that is below 5.5.
Hell yea. I'll contribute. All I've ever had are relatively big phones. It started with the Motorola Droid. That was big for it's time. Then the Droid x which everyone knows was one of the first 4.3 inches of android. Then the galaxy nexus which I thought was big as hell opening the box. But now the note 2 is the biggest jump yet. 5.5 inches is a night and day difference to anything out there. I honestly feel like it's perfection. Watching movies, Playing 3d games, Drawing pictures, Browsing the web, and anything else is so much better on this phone. When the note 3 comes out I'm dropping 700 easy on the damn thing

I'm using an HD2 right now, and thinking of going to the Note 2 (need the bigger screen for these aging eyes!). If you don't mind me asking, how did you move your telephone contacts, text messages and browser bookmarks from your HD2 to your Note 2? I'm using the stock HD2 ROM and the Opera browser. Thanks in advance for your reply!

Stock as in WM6.5? Holy WOW...my HD2 was on Android since it was available...i use Gmail to backup all the contacts but that's the only thing i'm ever worried about, i never backup texts or bookmarks, sorry...
Haha, I thought this thread was "pointless" until I picked up my Sensation last night... it literally feels like a toy now... so cute compared to my Note II
I'm on the bandwagon too, I was initially worried about the size but liked the idea of not having to carry around two devices and a sketchbook. I did a review of a case* earlier and I was taking pictures with my old Amaze...let's just say my Amaze felt tiny, I mean really tiny. My Nexus One feels even smaller. lol

I can agree. Went from my Moto Photon to this and now it seems small. I compared it to my Samsung moment which was my first android device and I can't even use the screen on it anymore because it's so tiny.
Oh man how do I start? Well I just wanna share to everyone how I feel!. It was almost a month of researching on forums, internet, videos etc on what should I get, either the note 2 or OGPro. Note 2 was my first choice because of slighlty better battery life, but I realize that OGP is just way better on every aspect .Very smooth UI, no lag, and the display is awesome!!
I already got some accessories for my OGP. I got the external wall charger from ebay, the Hyperion slim battery from amazon, and this awesome flip case with stand! Name of the flip/stand case is Nilkin btw, I just checked amazon and the only thing available now is from china, coz I ordered one from a Us seller and got it really fast like 3 days after I ordered it.

I was in the same boat as you, and man i ditched the note 2 idea the second i actually held the device and played around with it. Instant sell right there, its a shame its not promoted out the A like the galaxy series is. I get slightly annoyed when someone says oh wow a note 2! lol
Mine should here next week, and I can't wait either. I want to see how it will compare to my Note 2. The screen does look much better than the Note 2.
A bit diffrent here, i was choosing between S4, htc one or optimus G Pro..and found g pro suit my preference...and I love it. Having played with S4 for a while...I like this one better

Well my original picked was htc one also, then I went to atnt to check it out and I felt the screen is too small now, plus I dnt think I can live with it since i like phonea w/ removable battery. Then it came down to juat note 2 ans OG. If i picked note2 im gonna pay $200 while ill grt oGpro for free since my s3's trade in value is around a 120. Plus coming from s3 to note 2 wont feel anything different except bigger screen and the stylus.

You gonna love the ogp. An excellent device all the way around. Great clarity and detail on 1080P screen and very powerful processor.
I'm especially loving my device now that I got my new ZeroLemon 9300mAh extended battery. I'm still on my first charge cycle. I have over 12.5hrs of on-screen time and still have 12% battery left. This battery won't die. Likely at least 2-3 more hours of on-screen time left. Unbelievable and it will only get better I I go through more charge cycles. I've been trying very hard to burn it out so I can plug up for next charge cycle. So it'll be ready when.I go to work.in the morning. I highly recommend this battery. The little extra thickness is nothing compared to this battery life I'm getting. Phone still fits in my pocket fine.
Great phone. I've barely used my tablets since I got it.
Omg op I love you like a fat kid loves cake!
I have been looking for a leather flip case that doubles as a stand like I had for my note and that's exactly it..

I just got one myself! I have one question though. Does the OGP support wireless charging natively? Or do you have to get that flip cover? LG hasn't marketed wireless charging capabilities at all, so I just assumed it didn't have any...but there is a QI charger for it...

The US variant supports Qi charging out of the box. The flip cover also has an inductive charging coil built in. I can't say with any level of certainty whether any non-US variants support Qi without the cover.

Holy mushrooms batman! I just tried it before reading this, and it works! I used my old Lumia 920 charger. That's sweeetttt! It's not even listed as a function on the LG website. Super weird that they don't market that more. There are only a few devices that do that straight out of the box (Lumia 920, Nexus 4, and OGP). NICE!
Omg!!! Finally got my OGP today!! And let me tell you this..THIS PHONE IS SO UNDERRATED!!! I mean what not to love about this device!?? The Display is soooo Gorgeous!! Battery life is awesome, the build quality is nice. Lg took the customization to another level, folder colors, the keyboard, the ringtones, wallpapers etc tmtm! I have to say I've been through my share of phones and a lot of different brands but the galaxy note 2 by far is the best phone ever in my opinion. From performance to the size of it its just great all around. Most people see and and say "its way too big" but when you hold it in your hands especially if your a guy its the perfect size. I can't see myself going to a different or smaller phone so I cannot wait for the note 3

Military grade durability would be sick. What comes to mind is something like an outterbox type of housing

And the phone still works great! Here's a sad but funny story which I can laugh about now about durability about two years ago I bought a ipaq 200 off Craigslist I checked it out thoroughly before I bought it from the seller, as soon as I got home I dropped it and the screen cracked and couldn't be viewed.

A woman I work with once got a Droid RAZR Maxx. She was always so smug about it like she had a better phone than me...I had an SGH-I777 Galaxy S2 at the time. I am "the phone tinker-er guy" to many and she thought she was hot stuff "out-doing" me with her phone. Droid this, Droid that....whatever.
Of course, being the way I am about my phone, I bought an extended battery that was a couple of mah more than what the RAZR Maxx had. I don't really know why I did it - - it was petty of me.
"Sadly", she wouldn't use a case and "sadly" she dropped her phone and shattered the screen.
Before all this she would throw digs at me about how cheap and plastic she thought Samsung phones were. She ended up getting an S3 - - remember I had an S2 - - because all the commercials said it was the best of the best.
My upgrade came up and my wife got me my Note 2 (I love her so much! - not just because of getting me my phone, of course).
This phone is the best, hands down. I don't care if it doesn't have a 1080p screen or if the screen doesn't go edge to edge. The battery is phenomenal and it's more than fast enough for me. I am not sure I need any phone bigger than this either. Perfect for me!!
I want to thank all the talented devs that continue to make my Note 2 the best to me.

Exactly... More battery drain for something that isn't even visible tbh..
I have used phones with a 1080p display and couldn't really tell the difference, aside from the hit to battery life
Yesterday I noticed my phone hot and noticed the screen was bulging trying to separate from the phone body. I placed in my apt AC vent and most of the swelling went down. So figure time for a new phone but not going with HTC this time. I have had HTC since the droid incredible and figure time for a change.
My question to you is go for the galaxy S6 edge or the Verizon nexus 6. I am looking for a good camera and sorry HTC has let me down on many of the previous phones I owned. I will keep my old M7 as still workable but that just in case as don't want to be without a phone. This had been a great community with many great ROMs except that darn Google one that my phone seemed to not like as it would only send one text and no more lol.
So guess this is kinda farewell but never posted much in here lol. So let's see what all you guys and gals suggest. Not looking for a note as it has to fit in my works shirt pocket lol. Less chance of breaking there than in my pants pockets.

The Nexus 6 is bigger than the Note but its also available for $299 new right now if you don't mind a phablet phone. There are two new Nexus models available for preorder from the google store, the 5P and 6X. The Droid Turbo2 is supposed to come out later this month but Moto updates have been slow lately. I would also look at the LG G4 right now.
My buddy has the S6 Edge and he likes it but says the curved screen doesn't really add anything to the phone. I've also read some complaints about strange reflections due to the curved edges. If I had to get a Samsung today I would probably grab a used S5 off eBay in good condition for about $200. You get a sdcard slot and removable battery with the S5.
I currently have a Droid Turbo and like it but I just grabbed a M7 off eBay for cheap last night because I missed this phone. Also the wife has been complaining about her Moto X a lot so I will probably give her my Turbo to shut her up. Good luck with your new phone whatever it may be.
