Need help getting AT&T Isis on phone - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Alright, here's my issue. Att is offering 25 dollars credit on Isis when you sign up for it. I've looked through posts for info but have not found it about Isis, only Google wallet. Because I'm aokp the att Isis apk, in the play store, is saying not compatible with device. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Isis is only available in 2 test markets, and for it to work you need a special sim card. The card is free, but you get it from Att.

I'm in the salt lake market and have the sim card for it. Problem is the I'm on a custom ROM and it won't recognize it as an att phone. So, can't load the program from Google play. Thus the problem I'm having.

Looking at what Att says about Isis, it sounds like what you need is built into the LH9 rom update. So, unless a custom rom has the needed files built in it won't work.

I did get AT&T to provide me the Sim needed and am able to use ISIS Wallet in the Orange County at all the same places Google Wallet works, CVS, MacDonalds, Wallgreens, ect. as well as vending machines. LA area has not gone live yet but it works. Just wanted to pass the word, I am using a SGS3 on AT&T Stock 4.04. Only thing that really sucks is that you need to reload the ISIS prepaid card or have a Chase Bank account to add the Card, I would love to be able to use Google Wallet since you can put any card on it. Just my input
Do you live in the launch markets or call in and have them mail you an Isis sim?

Yeah, seeing the abysmal list of supported cards really turned me off considering ISIS. I was willing to give it a shot, but once I found out about that it seemed like too much of a hassle.
PS, @BarQsRB1966, there are instructions around here on how to get Google Wallet on this phone. I followed them and am very pleased.

I download the APK from here and want to try Isis on my Nexus 4 however I can't get it to install. Anybody have a link to another one? I am on Tmob and yes I have an Isis Sim card. Does having Google wallet installed jack it up?

Do you still need this? I can post it if you tell me where to find it.
I've just encountered this issue.
I recently flashed LiquidSmooth ROM 4.2.2 and now the App Store tells me that ISIS Mobile Wallet is incompatible with my device.
I believe this is because the unique user ID or phone ID is switched, hence it's not the stock T-Mobile branded ROM.
This sucks, I don't want a TouchWiz ROM but I just might switch back because I live in Salt Lake and can benefit from ISIS in many ways.
Unless, we can switch something in build.prop or another file that will identify the phone as T-Mobile?

Anyone in Austin or Salt Lake City try Isis Wallet yet and able to give a review?

http://www.t-mobile.com/discover/isis.aspx
T-Mobile's launched Isis where we can use NFC on our phones to pay for things, but so far, "the Isis Mobile Wallet is offered in select cities only. Locate a participating store in Austin or Salt Lake City."
Anyone gotten a new Isis SIM card and tried it out? Was it hard getting the card? Does it work well?
I live in Austin but have not tried it. May give it a shot.

Did you just walk into any T-Mobile store and ask to swap sim cards and that was it?
Any idea how it's detecting root? Wonder if it'd work on CM10 with root disabled.

All the articles about Isis says you can't have root and even on the play store where you download the app.

I just walked in and told them I wanted the new Isis compatible sim card and they gave me a new one. Didn't have to pay or anything. Oh yea, you have to be an authorized member to make changes on the account.
No idea how it's detecting root. Just waiting for a dev to make it work on rooted phone.

Build.Prop edit to Make Google Wallet Work

If you want to force the Google Play version of Google Wallet to work here is all you have to do.
Edit your /system/build.prop file and find the line that says ro.product.device and change the value from ls970 or whatever your phone's value says to say maguro. Reboot your phone and make sure to clear Google wallets data before opening. It should then grant you access.
Edit: It has come to my attention that not only does the cell your on need to be forced to cover this app but your cell network must already provide coverage for this service. Granted your cell network allows Google Wallet, you should have success with this method.

The importance of this BTW is paying with NFC for those who feel left out.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using Tapatalk 4
Unfortunately for me and my e971 this did not work. Glad to hear at least the LS970 users are getting some use out of it...
(I've tried editing build.prop and the MoDaCo Toolkit, nothing works. Oh well ).
Did you clear the app data and reboot? Vital steps

I did. I've tried before and couldn't get it working then either. It always just hangs on "Setting up Wallet, this may take up to 5 minutes". 15 minutes of waiting yields nothing.

Try it on WiFi. If you got to that screen you were successful. And yeah setup can take a while

I think its probably need some special DRM-like keys.
In other words, wont work if the phone is not from sprint or at&t.
Something similar in korea, you cant use nfc payments unless you running stock rom.
Ahh very true. It only works on certain cell networks. But if you have the right cell network and wrong phone this will set you up regardless of ROM. One thing that custom ROMs can do to change coverage of this app like mention before this is to change the device name, seeing as that is what Google Wallet verifies.

Thank you for the information.
However Build.Prop file edits are not really development. And definitely not original development.
This edit has been talked about all over XDA device forums.
Thread has been moved to the general section.

Sent from my LG-LS970 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Neither. It's the Canadian model from Rogers, AKA E971.
EDIT: Of course, I'd be using Market Enabler, as it wouldn't work with my current Network provider. I just need (want, really) to know if the new versions of wallet will allow this, or (since the new Wallet can be installed on all phones) if I could just use Market Enabler to make this work now.
Nope only those networks support it
Sent from my LG-LS970 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Hmm, Ok.
I was able to use Wallet with Market Enabler on my Galaxy Nexus, also on Rogers. Just for knowledge, what is the difference between the two phones that won't let it work?

I read recently its caused by a check for a secure element for wallet purchases on your network. If you have the SE on your SIM instead of built in to the phone there are methods of making that work i believe. If you want to try something else then change the model and network provider in that file also. Ive heard of it working.

unlock tmobil s3 problems

I have an s3 that i was selling to mother in law to use on consumer cellular. T mobile provided an unlock code that does not work. They are supposedly investigating this. I tried to pay an online unlocker for a code, I told them the code t mobile provided that did not work, They were unable to generate an unlock code ,
What is is going on. T mobile sim locks phones and then cant provoide correct unlock codes??
What other option do i have?
This seems like a bunch of BS on tmobile part.
Selling to MiL ? I'd give for free if I were you.
Seriously speaking, you can take the phone to a T-Mobile store for further investigation. If the code does not work, don't try it repeatedly. The phone will lockup for good.
If the code did not work, make sure the T-Mobile Rep has taken down your IMEI correctly. Make them repeat it to make sure its correct.
There are other ways to unlock. But in order to try them, I need to know what android version you have right now. Its listed in Settings > About.
Its running stock rooted 4.3 with stocm recovery and some bloat removed. Have verified t mo has correct imei. Have tried 2 old centennial wireless sims and an old at&t sim. No luck.
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
Since you are on 4.3, the other way to unlock is out of question. Please take the phone to a T-Mo Store after you get the new unlock code.

I am having the same problem.
I just got done with TMO online chat and they said to make sure the WiFi is off before you do it.
I am going to try this when I get home.
Check out chainfires Region Lock Away app on the play store or here on xda. Its built for the note3 on 4.3 firmware, but ive seen claims it works on the S3 and others. I suggest reading the thread to be certain, but it may be a viable option for those running 4.3 rooted.
