Stock jb...... - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I wanted to know if I accept the stock jb update do I need to unroot? If I dont need to unroot can I flash a jb rom on top of the stock jb from sprint? Also if im not feeling jb too much would it be hard to go back to ics? I was on jb before with cm10 but it had alot of bugs. So I flashed an ics rom (strong steve odexed blue rom) to get back to 4.0. Since ill be on the stock jb would it be that easy to go back to ics from stock jb?
show me something worth my attention

Why not fash the JellyBean iteration of Odexed Blue, v1.2? It's an excellent JB ROM, and it's based on stock.
ROM - strongsteve's Odexed Blue LJ7 JB 1.2 Holy Grail
Baseband - LJ7
Kernel - Agat's custom TW JB v0.3.2

If you want stock, yes, you'll need to unroot, as the OTA requires stock recovery. Additionally, you'd be better off flashing a jellybean tw rom; as they're all based off official stock now. Just make a backup and flash.

Thinking about trying a ICS themed ROM.

I want to try flashing a rom with an ICS theme. I'm rooted with CWM5 installed.
Thinking about flashing that ASOP looking ROM then the ICS theme to go with it.
Is there any reason I shouldn't do this? My phone doesn't seem to suffer LOS at all. Can I flash the ROM then flash a stock kernel?
Most of the roms available support most kernels. There are at least 3 custom "stock" kernels available that would be your best bet at avoiding Los. Bubbys stock w/cwm, rogue stock, chris41g's new stock kernel...all would be fine to flash in cwm after you've installed a rom, I would suggest calks rom, or starburst as they are both compatible with ICS theme and are updated regularly

Better yet, just wait on the real ICS port being worked on. I tried the themed launchers and they were ok, but there's nothing like the real thing baby.

Need TouchWiz Stock Rom ICS theme

HI, I have a rooted EL29 version Epic 4g Touch, I like the touchwiz stock rom but wanted ICS theme is there any way to get it without actually putting on a custom rom ?
The ROM has to be deodexed for the theme to work or else it would be bootloop of hell. Might as well flash a custom ROM to avoid problems.

You could always flash a stock rooted custom ROM, such as this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1429243 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1433101
Stock EL29 Kernel with CWM to flash the theme http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24014670&postcount=2
Is this what you're looking for, it's for builds EL13-EL29 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1528063

[Q]need back to stock rom for ICS upgrade?

hi guys,
we all now ICS is coming to DHD soon..
and my DHD, is rooted so i need back to stock rom for ICS upgrade??
Yes and no. If you wanted the stock pics from HTC will release you have to go back to stock or install the ruu.(end with the same result). Or the better option install a custom from based of ics either aosp or something sense which ever you prefer

[Q] flashing new rom from gb to ics rom

i use arconium 7(gb) as my present rom but i want to upgrade into modded ics 90.2 lrs(ics).. im wondering if its ok if i just flash it directly to my phone or do i still have to flash stock ics firmware? any suggestions please?
you can directly jump from GB to ICS without flashing ICS firmware..but make sure you clean data and cache before installing ICS ROM

But i think it's better to flash the stock ICS first for better performance and compatibility.
its doesnt matter... flashing an custom ICS ROM from GB is the same thing as flashing the stock ICS from GB, performance and compatibility will be changed in that ROM as well with other features.

[Q] Stock ICS to Custom 4.1 ROMS

Hey guyz got a very noobish question, didnt find any answer any other place...so im posting my question here...
Could i just flash any custom 4.1 roms like miui, aokp, cm10 and im on stock ics, rooted witch franco's kernal..? is it possible or i must have stock jelly bean inorder to flash these roms..?
Provided you have unlocked your bootloader. You can flash custom jelly bean ROMs from stock ICS..
I have a Sony Ericsson Neo V. I flashed Polish Blood Aosp ROM from Stock Sony ICS without any issues.
You can flash any version you want. It makes no difference what you currently run. Just wipe like normal and flash your day sired ROM.
As long as you wipe cache and data everything fine!

You do not need stock jellybean in order to flash a custom 4.1 rom like miui, aokp or cm10. All you have to do is pick a rom you like, make a backup, wipe the stock ics on your phone, flash the custom 4.1 rom/gapps of your choice, then restore your apps.
