I bought this dock, knowing it would be a crap shoot as to whether the usb audio out would work.
EZOpower
I am unable to get it to work.
I can't find any settings to try to invoke the usb audio out settings. I can't find dock settings, etc.
Can anyone help?
Thanx,
Ron
Go into settings, then scroll down to accessory. See if checking any of these boxes will help. I don't have a dock, so I'm unsure if they work with a non oem dock. But it's worth a shot.

Thank you!
Audio output mode did it.
There is some trash in the signal, but otherwise it works good!

Even better is using an external usb dac. Am using an ODAC with mine in the car and when at my desk. The sound is pristine, as good as any source I've ever head, seriously.

All that I'm interested in is accessing external storage. Would this work?

From what i understand you need to get that Micro-A version not the B version. I THINK
No it does not work.

That cable specifically, or I have to use a MHL cable?
This one claims to work with GSII

Won't work either way.
That and most cable will work with Galaxy S2 but it won't work with Epic 4G Touch Galaxy S2. Although they are close they are not the same phone.
USB OTG is disabled on the Sprint version of the SGSII. MHL is only to split the USB data from the HDMI stream.
Do you guys know when it'll be enabled? I asked in a development thread for ICS to see if it could be added in the new kernel they are developing for it and got flamed by Jerdog.
I would love to have this as I use it a lot on my Xoom.

It is a really nice feature I use on the zoom as well. It would be nice to get it enabled.
Can anyone verify if the MHL cable works out of the car dock?

That certainly is a bummer. I assume car dock would be the same then. Thanks for answering!
I bought an MHL (micro-USB to HDMI) cable for my GN and it works great, however the default behavior is to lock the orientation to landscape when the MHL cable is connected.
I need to record some graphics and applications from the device but I need them in portrait mode, however I cannot find any setting to make the change. If I remember correctly, the SGS II worked in portrait mode when doing HDMI-out.
Is there any way to make the GN do the same?

ehh... thanks. I was hoping that it's there but I just can't find the right setting. What I'm afraid of is that it is probably the intended behavior so I wouldn't expect a fix from Google. Maybe one of the modders will figure it out...
there is mod for it in the developers section. Unlocked bootloader is required.

I know, the thread is old, but could you please point me in the right direction to find this mod? I can't find it in them developer section of the Galaxy nexus forum.
So now that Axiom 2.5 supports NFC tag writing, I ordered several tags(from Tag stand) and have written a few. Pretty neat...I wrote one for my car dock (which doesn't supper the docking features of the Nexus) that puts it in car mode, turns on Bluetooth, connects to my car audio, and turns off wifi.
I'd like to hear what you all plan to do with them. Ideas? I'm a geek without much creativity, so let's help each other out!

Did you put it in your dock? If so, how does it behave if the phone is constantly next to the tag? I am going to make one for the same purpose...just not sure where to put it.

Actually, I haven't tried it yet. I'll let you know after tomorrow...haven't thought about that. May have to put it on the dash then out the phone in the dock.

I have the Da-e650 which is essentially the same minus the vacuum tubes and have no problem connecting my Note 2. Did you install the app needed when actually docking the Note? You don't need it just to connect via blue tooth just when docked. Link follows...

FYI... I can also play music direct from my pc via Media Player's play to feature. Very handy for annoying my wife
.... I have to return some videotapes....

I'm a bit late here...but anyway:
The DA-E750 does not suport audio playback from USB dock audio, strangely enough. It does, however, have full iPod support. If you want to use it with an Android phone, it'd have to be through Bluetooth, auxiliary or WiFi.
Hi guys,
I'm interested to know if there's a cable that can do everything that the smart dock does as I don't like the fact I can't use the smart dock in landscape mode.
I want to connect the Note 2 to a screen via HDMI, keep it charged/charging and have a female USB port so I can connect a hub/PS3 controller/Memory stick etc.
Also, I've read online that I may need to root to get all this functionality working?
Sorry if this has been asked before, I'm new to the Android community, just finished using BlackBerry.
Thanks
That's the dream. For now an non existant one...
