Is there a way to get Samsung Dive enabled on the Tmobile Note 2?
I followed the set up instructions on samsung's page, but the remote control option is not in my security settings.
cheers!

Supposedly, "ink" is enabled in the current Microsoft OneNote app.
My question is how to enable it.
The only way I have found to write on the screen with the stylus is through the S-Pen window, and this creates a screen capture to edit.
If I open a OneNote page and attempt to write on the screen, nothing happens.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
New to the device, so hopefully it is something simple I am missing.
Hi,
I came across this article and wanted to share with you all. I did post this under Android-> Security Discussion but I still wanted to share with this community. Mod's please close this thread if you think it's not required here.
http://www.informationweek.com/secu...rt-android-backdoor-discovered/d/d-id/1127675
Highlights of this article:
Attackers can remotely exploit a software-based backdoor -- present in at least nine different models of Samsung smartphones and tablets -- to steal files and location data or surreptitiously activate a microphone or camera.
Radio modems on some Samsung devices can execute remote file system (RFS) commands.
This program is shipped with the Samsung Galaxy devices and makes it possible for the modem to read, write, and delete files on the phone's storage," he added. "On several phone models, this program runs with sufficient rights to access and modify the user's personal data."
The backdoor could be used by any remote attacker -- such as criminals or intelligence agencies -- to turn the devices into remote spying tools. "The spying can involve activating the device's microphone, but it could also use the precise GPS location of the device and access the camera, as well as the user data stored on the phone," he said. "Moreover, modems are connected most of the time to the operator's network, making the backdoors nearly always accessible."
List of affected devices:
According to Replicant, so far it's identified nine different types of Samsung devices that have the vulnerability. It cautioned that more devices may be affected.
Nexus S
Galaxy S
Galaxy S 2
Galaxy Note
Galaxy Nexus
Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
Galaxy S 3
Galaxy Note 2
Fix/Workaround:
There isn't any for now but you can follow some basic safety measures.
1) Keep SE-Linux mode to Enforcing
2) Do not install applications from untrusted sources. This is configured by default under :Settings->Security->Device Administration->Unknown Sources.
3) Always verify the permissions the application is requesting.
4) Av's help in atleast verifying the apk's and there are applications to detect adnetworks like (Lookout,Symantec,TrustGo Ad detectors, etc).

Samsung Backdoor May Not Be as Wide Open as Initially Thought
Gee, that list of measures is a big cold wet blanket.
Thanks, Samsung! You're the best!

So.. Since SElinux is set to permissive to use aosp roms, the user is indeed susceptible to this security risk, correct?

Correct, but too early to say.
Any updates on this?
1. Was using the Galaxy Buds purchased with Note 10+ to listen to audible and realized that to skip back 10 seconds I have to triple tap the bud.
I thought that there must be a customization option in the Galaxy Wearable app using which I can reprogram single tap on left bud to skip back and single tap on right bud to skip forward for Audible app.
Again I searched and found that they do not allow any such app specific customization.
I mean the possibilty is there, they made the hardware and the software but still are limiting the user.
2. I recently transferred some files to Download folder on Note 10+ and then opened the My Files app.
Clicked on the Downloads option in the middle and couldn't find it. For a while I thought it was a bug only to realize later that the Downloads button shows files downloaded via the Internet directly onto the phone and does not point to the Folder names "Download".
So now to check the files I have to go into My Files and open the folder.
3. There is the option to Double tap to Wake up but no option for double tapping on empty area of Home screen or Notification bar to turn off phone.
4. The Secure Folder app allows user to create a clone of every app in a secured area.
And Dual Messenger allows user to clone messaging apps without needing to create and enter a passwors protected space.
However I wanted to make a clone of Youtube as I use two account but can't do that without using third party unstable solutions like Multi Parallel.
If I want to do it Samsung's way I need to enter the Secure Folder every single time.
I mean they have already created the solution and put it on the phone but by implementing their own rules they are making the feature less or non usable.
Please note I'm not saying the phone is bad or anything, far from it, it is probably one of the best phones out there and I totally like it for what it is.
It is just that I switched from a Zenfone 5z and even they had the features mentioned in points 2,3 and 4.
I was having higher expectations from Samsung switching back to them after being a long term Note 3 user.
I hope someone at Samsung R&D reads this and improves upon these things in future software updates.
1. third tap and hold?
2. app harmony problem
3. nova launcher

The Galaxy Tab S7 series was updated to One UI 3.1 last month but Samsung hasn’t stopped working on developing new features for its flagship tablet duo. In fact, the company is now getting ready to release a follow-up firmware update for the Galaxy Tab S7 series; one that will introduce a handful of new S Pen features which will likely be appreciated by productivity-oriented users.
The update will make the S Pen usable in more scenarios and allow for handwriting in more text boxes that are usually serviced with the on-screen keyboard. For example, once the update will be applied, Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ owners will have the ability to use the S Pen for handwriting in address boxes. They’ll have options to insert punctuation marks, and the text will instantly be converted into digital text. The same S Pen to text option will also be added to Samsung Notes, and it will be available in over 80 languages at launch.
Scanning documents just got easier
The Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ already give users the option to scan documents using the Camera, but the upcoming update will bring this feature more to the forefront.
This isn’t as big of a change as the S Pen to text addition but, following the update, the Scan option will be found under Attach, right next to the Image, Camera, and PDF options. Once a document is scanned, the user will be able to start jotting down notes on the document using the S Pen.
Samsung claims that the next Galaxy Tab S7 firmware update with the S Pen to text feature included will be released by the end of February. The rollout will commence in select markets though, so it won’t be available everywhere at start.
Once you’ll have the update running on the Galaxy Tab S7 or Tab S7+, you’ll find the new S Pen to text feature by opening Settings and accessing S Pen under Advanced Features.
Galaxy Tab S7 S Pen feature update is live and it brings Dolby to DeX
Samsung has promised us that a new firmware update for the Galaxy Tab S7 series will go live before the end of the month, and the company’s keeping its word. The Galaxy Tab S7 series is now getting a new S Pen feature update in Europe, and it happens to include the latest March 2021 security patch.
Galaxy Tab S7+ owners in Germany — and possibly other countries — should now be able to download firmware version T976BXXU1BUBB from the Settings app, and the firmware will also be available for download from our archive soon. The rollout began with the Galaxy Tab S7+ but the base model shouldn’t be far behind.
New S Pen to text feature is live along with Samsung Free, Dolby for DeX
The latest firmware update for the Galaxy Tab S7 series adds a new S Pen to text feature that lets you use the S Pen in more areas including address boxes, and it makes scanning documents a little bit more convenient as the feature is easier to reach.
In addition, the new update introduces Samsung Free, as well as Dolby support in DeX mode and improves the platform’s stability. The fingerprint scanner should have also improved but no additional details were included in Samsung’s official changelog. If you happen to notice any changes, feel free to let us know in the comment section below.
As the title says, I have a Galaxy Watch Active 2 and a Galaxy Buds Live which was connected to a Samsung phone I had before. I bought a OnePlus 9 Pro today, and tried connecting both via the Galaxy Wearable app. None of the two devices are going past the first stage, where the error says "Not able to install required Plug-Ins" for both. Is there any fix for this? They're not getting installed via apkmirror too. The apps not installing are:
1. Watch Active Plug-In 2
2: Samsung Service Accessory
3. Galaxy Buds Live Plug-In
Is there any fix, or will my samsung devices not work with my OP ever? Please advice me, thanks!
I don't have the Active 2 anymore, but it worked with my OnePlus 8 & 9 Pro.
Maybe some info over in the watch forums, here's sample:
Tutorial for Connecting JioEveryWhereConnect to Samsung Galaxy Watch/Watch 3/Active Watch 2
So its the time to share the tutorial of connecting Samsung Galaxy Watches LTE mode to Xiaomi/Redmi phones (applicable to whoever using custom skin android like MIUI, OneUI, Colors OS etc). We searched alot of youtube videos and forums about this...

Thanks for the reply. But it seems like this method is to setup the LTE version. Mine is the Bluetooth only version which is not getting connected.
