Hello, lately I installed the Jelly Sandwich Rom for my Arc and I think I made a mistake somewhere for the first time.
My Arc don't want to read my sim card, 2G/3G etc and of course IMEI is unknown.
I've tried to downgrade Arc to 2.3.4 but during the flashing I get something like this:
17/033/2012 12:33:33 - ERROR -
17/033/2012 12:33:33 - ERROR - Error flashing. Aborted
17/033/2012 12:33:34 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
17/033/2012 12:33:46 - ERROR - Drivers need to be installed for connected device.
17/033/2012 12:33:46 - ERROR - You can find them in the drivers folder of Flashtool.
I did install the flashtool drivers for arc but it goes that I made it probably wrong too.
I would be glad if someone could help me fix my phone cause it's very important for me.
Thank you, cheers.
Maciej.

Step:
- plug the phone to PC(windows) through USB cable.
- format SD card to NTFS (not perform quick format)
- formatting take a long time, i lose my patient, then i press cancel anyway.
Observation:
- internal memory not recognize on both phone and windows (i mean 32Gbs was disappear)
Question:
i'm using CM9 and got some problem about usb driver to use ADB with the phone Xperia S. i know that can use ADB to re-partition the internal memory but any one please give me the detail [HOW TO]
i very appreciate for your help !

Problem solve.
Step:
- install newest flashtool (i use 0.9.9.0)
- download .ftf from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1912983 or any that you can found
- use flashtool to flash .ftf to your phone
- now the phone back to stock sony ROM,and it ask for format the damage internal storage.
Try!
01 - If the Device shows Sony Screen when booting and the booting animation but DOESN'T fully BOOT
Run Sony Companion (Google it if you haven't got it)
Click on Support Zone
Then look for "phone software update" --> click start
then click repair
FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS FROM THERE
WARNING YOU WILL LOSE YOUR DATA IF NOT BACKED UP
02 - If device fully boots , and stays on.
Plug Device into PC , and REFORMAT into Default format (think its FAT32)
if still same - follow step one
03 - If Device doesn't even show Sony screen
you have possibly hard bricked your Device and may need to purchase new device
i had a similar problem with my Xperia S , my phone had crashed and the SD card was unavailable , i had to Folow "Step One" to fix it , lost all my apps , but i got access to my SD card back. also most apps had to "Force Stop" because they were not working it was very annoying
I hope this helps , and i am sorry for any mistakes. english isnt my primary and im still unsure about some things

That happen when you connect your cellphone to the pc before that the software (flashtool) ask you, besides you have to connect your cellphone while your press volup (or down accord with the function that you need) until the green or blue led is on. Try reinstalling flashtool or download the last version (do it again if you already have the last one).

Thanks jhodax... i tried all your suggestions, but realised my mobile was softbricked...
finally after a lot of searching on this forum, i landed at this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
and boy, the feeling of actually opening up my Xperia S to reset the battery!!
Anyway, finally its working now and i was able to flash XZX2 once again...
Hi everyone.
I was having a problem regarding usb debugging connection of the Xperia ZL C6502. I was using Win 7 64-bit. My problem is that under Device Manager, it shows C6502 (refer to attachment below). I uninstalled it and let it reinstalled, but still windows was unable to find ANY driver for it. I already installed the Google Drivers and ADB Universal drivers, even had Sony PC Companion installed to latest version (to date) too. Even that do not help as it was still unable to correct the problem. But strange thing is, when connected with usb debug off, it was working with proper driver installed, displaying as Xperia ZL in Device Manager. The same with Flashmode (SEMC Flash Device) and Fastboot mode (Android ADB Interface).
I was wondering if it could be the fault of my Windows system or that there is some solutions that I've overlook. Hope any devs or gurus could help me with this. I really need to solve this problem ASAP. Thanks in advance guys!
Edit:
[Device specs]
Sony Xperia ZL (C6502)
Android JB 4.2.2 | Firmware 10.3.A.0.423
Umm.. Anyone? I have searched high and low in the other threads even I tried Google, but still I can't seem to solve this problem. I've even brought myself into the solutions for Nexus devices, I tried the solutions but it seems that my problem is not solved. Oh please don't tell me I have to send it over to Sony
RE: xperia zl usb driver
I think that you have not done enough research...
anyways I got in the same problem today..
to solve the issue follow this steps:
1. download usb driver from this linkit is same for Z & ZL) [remove spaces it is not allowing me to post link]
h t t p : / / developer . sonymobile . com / downloads / drivers / xperia - z- driver /
2. unzip the drive file
3. right click on C6502 in device manager select update driver
4. n from that select file from my computer & select the driver folder...
5. go to eclipse -> window -> open perspective -> devices n check
Okay, I've did like you suggest, but Windows was unable to find any driver.
I've started up eclipse and do as you said, but (refer to attachment) I was unable to find the "devices".
What am I doing wrong? Arghh... I really need to root this phone, so that I can unlock the tracking feature or some security stuffs so that I can retrieve my phone when it got lost or stolen. Anyway, thanks for you help aks0020
re:ZL usb debugging
to see the devices you can also go to DDMS...
but first u need to install that driver successfully...
I suggest you to retry the driver installation keep phone connected with usb debugging & Allow mock location options on
After successful installation u should see new driver in device manager as shown in attached snaps....
Problem Solved, or so it seems..
Okay, stayed up whole night reinstalling a clean copy of Windows 7 64-bit, finally I am able to make Windows 7 recognize my Sony Xperia ZL (C6502) when connected in USB Debugging mode. Yup it is connected properly now, compared to earlier. Just a little patience and some determination
Apparently, I've followed aks0020's suggestion to turn on Mock Location as well, and perhaps having a 'clean' Windows 7 installation helped to correct this problem. Maybe earlier my Windows 7 has faulty drivers database
Anyway, problem is solved, I can finally root my Xperia ZL. And for those curious, can refer to the attachment below :victory:
Hi, i am absolutely new to this mobile modding stuff. I tried to install a Ultimate HD 5.0.1 ROM and i used eRoot to root my phone, everything was going fine until i used CWM to boot, after that i did restart and im stuck on Sony logo. I have tried using PC Companion to repair but it doesnt work. Update Service doesnt support it anymore and i even tried to flash it without any success, need help.

Am i using the wrong .tft files to flash it or what am i doing wrong ?
-Edit- I also read somewhere to install flashtool drivers, but installation fails all the time, i am using the latest flashtool
1. The fact that "processing loader.sin finished with errors" means your ftf file is corrupted. Go and download it again.
2. Since you can connect your phone in flash mode, it can't be driver problem.
3. Do relevant research before flashing a custom ROM. If you don't understand what you're doing, don't do it.
4. USE THE SEARCH BUTTON! These questions have been asked so many times I lost count of how many there are. Search on XDA or Google for your solution.

Thanks for the reply.
I have used 5 different .tft already. I also installed older flashtool version and it still gives me an error.
I've been googling for solution since yesterday but nothing seems to work, hopefully someone here has a time to help me out

Yes, but it doesn't recognise it. Im out of solutions. Weird is that none of the .tft files isnt working, even tho green LED is working and flashtool connects it
Use PC Companion, don't connect your phone, but use the method for when phone does not start up. It will ask you to connect your phone in flashmode and then it will reflash firmware.

Can anyone help me ?
I have used over 10+ firmwares already, thought i just had bad files but i still get the exact same error every single time. I am running out of ideas already and i really need to use my phone since i dont have secondary phone. Help please
Can you get in fastboot mode?

Can I get some help guys? My phone got bricked after I stupidly installed Chainfire3D, the phone is in a boot loop state for now.
My phone's firmware version is 6.1.A.2.55 and I have an unlocked bootloader, my CWM was gone after flashing 6.1.A.2.55 before but my phone is unlocked and it's USB Debugging is turned ON before I bricked it.
After 2 days of researching, here's what I've got (and tried):
My phone's vibrator is not functioning so I don't know how many times my phone vibrate when I hold Power + Volume Up.
My phone's USB port is faulty, it charges but it can't be recognized on a computer then I found a guide here on the forum about cleaning the USB port using a toothpick, and I think it's working fine now.
I am using Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit and I found out that there are issues regarding the ADB drivers, I tried some solutions I found online but my phone is still not detected.
I installed a bootable Windows 7 SP1 64-bit on a external HDD and tried to use Flashtool there. I installed the Fastboot, Flash Mode, Xperia Acro S drivers from C:\Flashtool\drivers and still my phone is not detected.
I tried to install Flashtool again from my girlfriend's computer, Windows 7 64-bit, my phone is detected in Flash Mode but can't stay there for long, it will exit Flash Mode then goes to charging, unlike in Fastboot wherein it stays there.
Tried installing Flashtool again from my mom's computer and borrowed her USB cable, it stays in Flash Mode then I tried to flash LT26w_1265-3909_6.1.A.2.55_GENERIC-user_CUST_1266-3278_R4G from there, but it stops with an error Error processing loader.sin, again I did some research about it and then I tried flashing it again, but this time Flashtool didn't gave me an error but it stops at Checking header right after Processing loader.sin
I also tried to flash only the kernel.sin on Fastboot mode but the Flashtool crashed.
Again, from my mom's computer, I installed Sony PC Companion, it was detected as Xperia Acro HD but my mom's computer don't have internet so I wasn't able to try to repair from there.
I also have another question, could it be that my USB port is not functioning? Are there any other methods to make my USB function again aside from bringing it to a service center?

Instead of trying to install rom, try installing cwm, then if cwm is installed and working, you can use that to flash zip through sideload from pc.

Okay sir I will try your suggestion, thanks. Can I install CWM using an SD card?
By the way, I brought my phone at the Sony Service Center here, they told me that they can not repair my phone since their computer couldn't detect it and the phone's problem is the motherboard. My phone has dents on it, so I'm pretty sure that they used it as a reason. And also, they told me that my phone was rooted. I was so frustrated because I know that my phone's problem is the USB since the phone charges and goes into bootloop after installing Chainfire3D.
