[Solved] Bluetooth connect/disconnect loop - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys.
I just bought a new Motorola hx550 bluetooth headset to replace my jawbone icon.
Everything seems ok, but I constantly see a bt connected / bt disconnected message, but the headset remains connected the entire time (I.e. No breaks with streaming audio).
I get this pop up every 5-10 seconds and it's annoying as hell.
Has anyone experienced this problem before? Any solutions?

I seemed to have solved the problem.
I had "secphone" frozen in titanium backup and when it was defrosted, the constant connection pop ups went away.

[Q] Bluetooth issue?

Is anyone else having issues with the bluetooth connectivity with Nexus? It pairs with MW600 or Delton no problem. However, after disconnect by power off earpieces, they can not be paired again in most of times.
In that case, if I disable bluetooth from menu, it also cannot be enabled again. I have to reboot the phone to make it working again.
My Nexus is on AOKP milestone 5 with Franco milestone 3.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Sometimes when I get back in my car it won't recognize the bluetooth, so I'll try turning it off and on again on the phone, and it will just hang on "turning bluetooth on" until I reboot
I'm pure stock, no root.
Mine doesn't work with skype and gtalk although connected and works flawlessly on phone calls and music playback.
...I'm using promate pro harmony BT headset on stock 4.0.4

I have the same issue, but instead of rebooting phone you can try to turn on and off Flightmode

Problem with 2 simultaneous bluetooth devices

I have been having a problem with using 2 bluetooth devices simultaneously and was wondering if there is a problem with my phone or bluetooth devices or if this is normal/expected.
I have bluetooth in my truck (2012 GMC 2500HD) that only works for phone calls. I also have a bluetooth adapter that I plug into the cigarette lighter for music. The adapter is capable of playing music and working for phone calls, but I have the headset profile turned off in my phone for that device so only the headphone profile connects.
On their own, each device works fine, but with both connected the vehicle bluetooth continuously connects and disconnects. Has anyone seen this before? How can I go about troubleshooting and fixing this so I can use both?
I have a stock GSM Nexus on 4.0.4.

In my Camry I use built in BT for phone calls and plug in a BlackBerry Gateway into AUX port to stream music. So 2 BT devices are connected at the same time. All is working well, meaning when music is playing and the phone call comes in, Nexus switches to the correct BT device. The only issue I'm having is that sometimes I have to manually connect to the Blackberry gateway.
Thanks for the reply. I was kind of afraid of that. Unfortunately it seems like it is the vehicle bluetooth that is the problem, the one that I really can't replace or do anything with.

Thanks for the feedback. I will do some testing with other bluetooth devices and my wife's iPhone to see if I can mount enough evidence to convince the dealer it is a problem with the truck and not my phone.

Bluetooth/car audio problems

I'm having trouble getting stereo audio to work correctly. I had a SGSII and it worked fine until I upgraded to ICS. At that point, it would only work with my car until I shut the car off and then I'd have to re-pair it. I tried CM9 experimental for the SGSII (which brought it up to Android 4.0.4) and that worked except I needed to turn bluetooth off and on again every time I got in the car. Due to other problems with the build I just decided to heck with it and ordered a Galaxy Nexus.
Here I am with the same Bluetooth issue I had with the CM9 build. It works, so long as I turn Bluetooth off and on before I get in the car and turn it on or shortly thereafter. I have Tasker, so I'm wondering how to get this fixed. Is there a permanent fix, or can I engineer some task that sees my car pairing, turns off Bluetooth, turns Bluetooth on and then doesn't repeat the task again until at least, say, five minutes?
FWIW, I'm running the stock Android build from Google.

Not sure if this will be much help but I've had similar issues. When it screws up, i get a phone connection but not a media connection. My solution is not ideal, but it works. When i press the pause button on my car stereo, it will then connect to media and one more press of the pause starts the music playing.

I gave that a try, thanks. Unfortunately for me it doesn't help. The media app (doesn't matter which) reports it is playing, but there is no progress through the file. If I simply turn off Bluetooth, it starts going. Then I turn on Bluetooth and after a few moments it starts coming through my car stereo.
I have a cheap belkin receiver which I experience the same thing with. I'm glad to hear that it might be a software and not hardware issue.
When I get into my car I have to start the pairing from the belking device or the bluetooth might hang. Which I get around by either reboot or toggle flightmode onn/off.

Same problem with my stock 4.0.4 ICS Nexus.... but with a twist. I was able to toggle bluetooth off/on to get it to work until last weekend. Now no matter what I do media audio doesn't work. Tried un-pairing/re-pairing, rebooting the phone, and toggling media on/off.
So at this point, calls work fine on my stereo but playing media through the speakers doesn't happen. This bugs me to the point that I'm considering going back to my old HTC incredible with CM7 on it until the issue is fixed.

Bluetooth connection problems in car

My Note connects to my car (2014 Nissan Altima) but it does not work properly.
My Galaxy S3 worked perfectly fine. The music played, titles of songs showed, calling and phone book features worked, and connected every time automatically. Now it is a completely different story with the Note 4. At first the only problem was that the titles or any information about the song did not show up on the dash. But now I can't even make a call. Even if I manually go into my phone and call someone I can't hear them and they can't hear me. The only thing that works is the music plays through the speakers.
Is anyone else having this problem or, most importantly, know a solution?
I posted about this too, I have the exact same problem in 3 different cars from 2008 all the way to 2015 and everyone says to try and update the cars firmware for the new bluetooth but that did not help. The funny thing is, I had it working fine for a bit then out of the blue it just stopped and now the phone acts like my stereo is a bluetooth headset.

I am having the same issue with my Note 4. My truck has the Parrot MKI9200 bluetooth. With my Note 2 and my wife's S5 i can make a receive calls with no problem. With my Note 4 I can play music over bluetooth, but if I try to make or receive a call I can't hear the person on the other end and they cannot hear me. With one exception. I have found that if I was listening to music over bluetooth then I can make/receive calls with no issues, as long as I let the phone app stop the music playback.
It is driving me crazy.
Note 4 bluetooth issues
I am having issues with the bluetooth on my Porsche PCM when on calls it sounds like there is a bunch of paddles prattling for a few seconds every 10 t0 20 seconds and then the call will sometimes drop. Any ideas?
Hopefully some new firmware in the future can fix these silly problems

So I think I may have found a work around. This morning I went into the bluetooth settings on my phone and I unchecked the Call Audio box and the Media Audio box for my truck. I exited settings. Then went back to settings and checked the boxes. After that my bluetooth worked perfectly for calls and media.
Suckage...

Mine worked with this work around one time. Then back to the old situation. I have a Note 4 and am driving a 2014 Nissan Altima. I'm hoping that with the new Lollipop 5.0 update coming out to the Note 4 that it will be resolved. We shall see. It's very annoying. My old S4 worked flawlessly in my car.
I have constant pairing issues with my 2012 elantra.

I have the same pairing issues in my 2011 Kia Soul - it will pair fine and work - until I shut the car. Then it is a constant pairing failed. If I stop and unpair and re-pair it works again - until I shut the car.
Check under Bluetooth for your car, hit the settings icon next to it, is call and media checked?

Exactly the same issue here. Maybe there is a firmware issue that can be addressed by the dealership.

Easy fix for car Bluetooth issues.
Iny car I would repeatedly get pairing failed issues and would have to unpaid/pair every time I got in the car....
I disabled smart remote and have not had one issue since.

have had the same problem intermittently on my Ford Edge with My Sync connects fine once then the next time connects but wont answer calls or volume drops, only solution i have found is to unpair the device forget it and start over (this happened with my S5 on android 4.4.4 as well)
To disable it... Just long press the icon (in the app tray) and drag it to the top... There is an option I believe 3rd from left that allows you to disable it....I disable all the bloatware I don't use.... I didn't disable smart remote thinking I would use it....
How did I figure out that would work.... I have no clue... But I was having the pairing failed every single time I got in the car... Had to unpair and remove device every time.... After disabling... Haven't had an issue once...

new Ford Edge and same thing paired and worked once using this fix then back to same ol' crap.
I too tried this method of disabling the smart remote but did not have any favorable results. I have tried to sync my phone to two different vehicles and will not even sync one time. Tried on a Ford Sync system and on a 2013 Altima with no success. This is the oh problem I have had with this phone and it is driving me nuts! If any good fixes are found please post for those of us who are having this vehicle Bluetooth problems. Take care.
I also disabled smart remote. After a couple of days it started giving me issues. I have a 2012 Hyundai elantra.

Nissan 370Z, no bluetooth connection issues with me. Every once in a while after start up, the initial song title doesnt show on the screen, but once it goes to the next track it's fine. Note 3 never had that issue.

Car bluetooth disconnect/reconnect during call

Hi,
My phone gets successfully connected to the car bluetooth and I've no issues playing audio over it or accessing the phonebook from the car display.
The problem is that during phone calls it occasionally disconnects and reconnects automatically in about 5 seconds. I couldn't find any pattern with this issue - with some calls this doesn't appear at all, with other calls this happens multiple times.
I haven't had this kind of a problem with any other phone.
Any ideas how to solve it or how to collect additional details (logging, etc)?
Car: Honda CR-V 2013
Phone: Galaxy S4 Mini plus (GT-i9195i), stock firmware
I'm sorry. I can't help you. I don't have car and I have never used Bluetooth in any car.
I hope somebody can help you
