[Q] How does one open S-note files directly from Google Drive? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone can get S-note to automatically open when you tap on an .snb file in google drive. Essentially, I want to create a file using S-Note (on my Note II), sync it to Google drive, then open drive on my Note 10.1, find the file, click and have it open in S-note. I had this working at one point, but I think when I installed Gmail downloader, this app became the default for .snb files in Google drive. Now every time I click a file, Gmail downloader opens. Gmail downloader isn't set as a default. I uninstalled Gmail downloader. No change. I uninstalled drive. No change.
The note 10.1 is still on ICS so S-Note cloud sync through Samsung account is not yet an option, despite being available on the Note II.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thank you kindly

I write SNotes on Note2 and Note 8.0 and sync between the two using DropSync ... works perfectly (you don't need to use Google Drive)
- On Note 2 Phone : two way Dropsync from phone's SNotes folder to my SNotes folder in DropBox
- On Note 8.0 Tablet : two way Dropsync from tablet's SNotes folder to my SNotes folder in DropBox
What would be perfect would be to find an SNotes viewer that worked on Windows (not Windows 8) .... anyone ????

Sync Camera Photos to Google Drive

I want to do something really simple with google drive.
I want to setup a permanent sync so my phone camera pics are synced with the google drive. So whenever i take a pic it just appears in the drive without having to do anything.
I am damned if i can figure out how to do it!
Can it be done?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
This can't be done (yet). But Google is pushing Google+ hard so I think they might keep that feature separate to get more users there as what you want can be done via the Google+ app
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I am not using G+.
Maybe folder sync may appear in the future on GD
I can still manually select images to upload for the time being.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Drop box does it

If you want photos to go to google drive i dont wee what you wouldn't just use google+. It saves unlimited amount of photos to Picasso/google+ and you dont have to use it as a social network. No one is going to talk to you if you dont talk to them. You want get any alerts about anything. Also you can edit photos right from the web. But if your concern is to not be in the cloud but on a local computer, like mentioned above...Dropbox is the best for that.
Camera photo sync
Dropbox is the best way to go.
Just use google+ on your phone. Then it will autokatically upload your photo, everytime you yake a photo it will ulpoad it. Your uploaded photo won't be published unless you do so. Hope this helped you.

I'm trying to do the same thing so my photos on the iphone are automatically sent to google drive. I have google drive synced with my work and home computers. I am envisioning all my iphone photos immediately available on all my computers google drive sync folders. I think I will try the photosync app. It looks like it will be the bridge I'm looking for until the google drive app for iOS is released.
Update: Tried photosync by touchbyte. Works well with google drive but lacks automatic syncing. Autosync has been suggested by many on the touchbyte support bulletin board.
Note: I have jailbroken iOS 4.8. Don't want to move to iOS 5
+1 for Google +, it works great! I have it set to upload when on WiFi and charging. It has never failed me yet.
If you don't want to use G+, then you could use a folder sync app and sync your DCIM folder with Google Drive...
I use this app for the same reason, and other uses:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.tacit.android.foldersync.full
the problem with G+ is that it scales your photo's, which is probably why they are trying to use google drive.
I wanna do the same thing. any new word on this now that google released the sdk? I would assume something exactly like dropbox will turn up soon i hope!
Yes, there are 2 issues with G+ instant upload:
1. Photos are downscaled to 5 Mpix, not sent as original files.
2. No sync to desktop like Goole Drive or Dropbox.
It can be done!
Another thing you can do is use Google Drive and Dropbox together. This works really well! Just install Dropbox on your phone and computer, but on your computer make Dropbox point to a subfolder somewhere within Google Drive. Then set the option on your phone to always sync your photos into your Dropbox. Have both sync clients running on your PC simultaneously, and the following will take place:
1) You take picture with your phone.
2) Dropbox app uploads your photos to Dropbox automatically.
3) Dropbox client on your PC downloads photos locally, saving them within the Dropbox subfolder of Google Drive
4) Google sync client on your PC spots new local files, uploads files to matching location on Drive.
5) Viola!
It's not perfectly clean but it gets the job done well!
There's a simpler way

Or you could just use this app:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gallery.drive.sync.pro
There is also a free version.

[Q] How do take notes in s-note and view from PC in web browser?

How do I do this?
- Samsung sync seems to backup only? No web access
- Google drive sync seems to be doing nothing.
- Dropbox... the s-note is not letting me select sync with drop box.
It should be so simple! Am I missing something easy?

Are you on a custom rom or stock? If custom what rom/version? When you go to System Settings/Cloud what does it show is syncing and is Dropbox listed there?
SNote will let me share to Dropbox and Drive sync works fine between my tablet, phone, and PC. Something doesn't sound like it is setup properly or something has happened.
Need more info.

Thanks CCallahan. I'm fully stock, android 4.1.2. The cloud setting shows
Code:
Content sync (with Dropbox)
[email protected]
Storage usage 10 MB / 2.5 GB
Pictures Sync enabled
Videos Sync enabled
However when I go to S-Note -> Accounts, I only see "Samsung, Google Docs, and Evernote" listed. So my questions are:
1) How did you link S-note to drop box?
2) Once you do sync to drop box, how do you see the notes from your PC? It is the raw snb file? If so how is that useful to you? I'd really like to see the a PDF or JPG of the image so I can see it clearly.
Thanks much.

I don't think you can do that with sNotes snb natively, at-least not of now. (I have gone through the internals of s-notes file for other reasons) and it's unlikely one could make use of them easily, unless someone writes a viewer/editor for them.
My Best Bet would be to just use the share via (preferably) or export option on the s-note app to save as pdf. and find which works best for you.
Now if you need some editing. Then some PC/Android App with OCR could be quite useful.

Well, I want it to be automatic. Otherwise it's useless to me because I'll forget to sync.
Man, I can't believe I can't do something so simple: write a grocery list on my Note 8, see it instantly on my phone (S3) then cross off items while I'm in the store.
- S-note: doesn't work on S3 without touchwiz (I'm running CM 10.1)
- Papyrus: doesn't support sync yet. (their cloud backup thing will NOT do sync)
- Gnotes: doesn't allow you to write like a piece of paper. When you write it's large, then it gets placed onto the page.
- Evernote / Skitch: writing with the s-pen is pretty bad with skitch. It can't seem to keep up.
EDIT: I just found that "GNote" is different than "GNotes". Trying Gnote (not in play store) now.
Am I missing any other aps that get sync right?

If you don;t necessarily need output as a hand written text, you could just use handwriting recognition in note 8 (which works quite well once you get used to it) and use whatever app you prefer. that way.

It looks like GNote + DropSync will do what I want.
Now if only I could push after saving rather than trying to check every 5 mins. Hmmmm.

[Q] How to remove Dropbox account from Cloud?

When I first bought my Note 8.0, I added my Dropbox account to the Cloud sync under Setting>Personal>Cloud>Contents Sync thinking that it would be kind of cool to have my dropbox contents downloaded on my Note 8.0 without needing to wait for the download when I need them. Since then, I've found out that the Cloud function downloads my stuff into a file called "cloudagent" on my internal SD instead of my external SD and it's not really as useful as what I thought it to be. Plus, I discovered that Dropsync does the job that I want it to do excellently.
So my question is, how can I remove my Dropbox account from the CloudSync? I positively remember adding my Dropbox account manually and it wasn't something that was there automatically after logging into the Dropbox app. Thanks a lot, guys!
You should be ableto unlink the device through dropbox`s settings or go into android settings and remove the dropbox account.
If you get foldersync or dropsync you can sync any folder you want o you sdcard. I think the free dropsync allows one folder.

Yeah I unlinked the device from dropbox's permissions, so at least I know that it's not going to start downloading stuff into my internal SD. Problem is, on my device side of things, now that I've revoked its permission to access my Dropbox, the "space used" section just keeps on loading and loading and when I click on my account, there's a button that says "Sync all" and nothing else. No "remove account" or anything of that sort. It's been like that for a week now and it's finally eating on my nerve.
I got the paid version of Dropsync while it was on sale and it's a great app to use. Anyway, thanks for your time. I guess I'll just bear with that annoying loading until it finally realizes that the reason it can't load anything is because it doesn't have the permission to.
Mine has remove acct at the top of the acct screen. Odd it's not on yours. I running civs rom if that makes a difference.

go into settings-->cloud and disable both pictures and videos completely
it's a useless function and dropsync is absolutely amazing....i never buy stuf, but I def bought the pro version

[Q] What app to use to sync data between the Note 8.0 and others?

I have some applications, like finance app, in both the Galaxy Note 8.0 and Galaxy S4 Active. Is there any app out there that can sync these 2 data, now that I have TWO devices??
I want something like this:
1). In Note - open finance app, make changes, close
2). In Note - Run <some app> to sync the data to Dropbox
3). In S4 - Run <some app> to sync the data from Dropbox
4). In S4 - open finance app, changes sync
I tried to use DropSync or something similar, but it does not work because:
1). Many app does NOT have a backup/restore feature. Thus there is no "backup" files
2). For those that do have a backup/restore feature, it is very cumbersome.
Otherwise, what is your strategy to sync data between 2 devices?
Helium will work. You would have to backup data on on and restore to the other. I'm not sure of an automatic app that would work.

Is this what you use to sync data between the Note 8.0 and you're other device?
foldersync can sync system files and databases. i was going to do it with anmoney to keep db's synced across devices, but at 3MB per sync i find it easier to just make a backup.
it should be doable.
Well maybe not. It will allow you to backup app data and restore to another device via the cloud but not sure if it will do exactly what you want. Just try it and find out.

Also check out datasync on the play store. It allows to manually sync devices on the same network without going through dropbox.
It can be set up to sync automatically if you pay the license.

Same here, it's driving me insane.
I need to browser on my PC thru all of my notes and I just can't seem to be able to.
- No PC app for Samsung Notes (although there is one for S Notes...)
- No GUI for Samsung Cloud, meaning it's impossible to merely view what's on there.
- No connection to Evernote.
- No mass-share back from Samsung Notes to S Note (you can do it but only one by one, and worse, it's imported as a picture)
Haven't been able to find the folder or, in better words... I have found "a" folder in Phone\SamsungNotes\SNote3... But all of that is empty, so there must be another place.
If anybody has a clue... I would very grateful

I just found 2 interesting folders under :
Code:
Phone\Android\data\com.samsung.android.app.notes\
One is "cache" and it's empty. The other is "files" and it has (??) a JPG copy of all of my notes.
It's a start. But I still cannot find where is the editable file.

samsung messed up notes app.. the only real advantage over snote is its lag free 90% of time.
Yeah I want to use S Note full-on, it is the best notes app no question and I have tried damn near every notes app in the Play Store, have had an Evernote premium account for years, etc. But to make it a proper notes solution they need to have a PC app and web app. I installed S Note on my Win7 PC, and I synced but nothing showed up. I tried live chat support and emailed Samsung, the response I got was this:
Thank you for contacting Samsung Customer Care.
From what you've written, we understand that you have installed S-Note software on your Windows PC and looking to view notes created on your Galaxy Note 7 phone.
We certainly understand your requirement by reviewing your email, however would like to inform you that there is no possible option available to accomplish that.
We can create notes and sync them on the software and restore them back, however there is no option of viewing them on the software on the device.

Which makes me want to stick with Evernote even with their 2-device limit (I stopped premium a while back) I can at least add stuff while on my laptop then see it on the phone, of course, and vice versa. That's a basic necessity if they want the notes deal to be taken seriously.
You need to be rooted
The folder is that same name but under /data/data/.......
Smart switch

Smart switch for samsung phones will let you put the notes from Samsung notes onto your sd card or pc etc.. the note in Samsung Notes are kept on the cloud not eithin the phones storage.
I think the "Samsung notes" are stored on the s8 internal storage and not elsewhere because when you run out of room on the internal storage the samsung note app won't save unless you delete sometging off the inturnal storage.
Where are they stored??
I also prefer to back up manually!
Does anyone know how to delete the cloud back ups of Samsung Notes? I've used smart switch to back them up and restore them, but, I cleaned up the 175 notes I've taken/made over the years down to 28. If you import from cloud you get all the ones that are there, including all 175! Samsung don't know how to either.
Thanks!
EASY!
all smsmsung note files are stored in 2 folders.:
data\data\com.samsung.android.app.notes\SDocData\
data\data\com.samsung.android.app.notes\app-attach\
just backup these 2 folders if you want to restore it (on a different phone with the same app)
sdoc data contain .sdoc files (container files, so if you rename to .zp you can extract mps3s(voice msgs) and text in raw data)
in app-attach are the drawings as .png
remember, when erasing a note in the app it is still in the 2 folders , just not visible any more in the app. very bad from a security and data savings perspective...
also with this regard i dont recommend (any) cloud backups - the (few) smasmsung apps i use dont have wifi/internet access anyway (AFWall+)
