No thanks in OT - About xda-developers.com

Why is the thanks button gone?
Sent from a 2.8 inch screen

Because it shouldn't have been there in the first place and is being misusued in the OT section(not that I agree, this is what I saw)
I got transformed into a potato while writing this post..

How was it misused?

New XDA video. What do you think?

What do you think about the new XDA welcome video guys?
Here is the link for the NEW video.
Here is the link for the OLD video.
I added a poll to gather the opinions of other members.

Old one was better in my opinion.
They showed a link in the upper left corner of a page to a "guide for new users", yet I can't seem to find any pages or links like that. Never mind, I found it by logging out, going to the forum homepage. Not my guide.
I also like the old one better, but this one is made to welcome new users instead of scaring them away.

The welcome video is for guests that have never been to XDA before...we wanted to show them how to use the site before using it. We'll also continue to link to the original "you are a Noob" video. :highfive:

I think it is a good idea sir. To give new or aspiring members the sense of welcome ness to join XDA and contribute what they are capable of.

Just a little idea, make the video private so that only those with the link can see it, then put the link in the 'You are a noob on XDA-Developers' video. That way, they have to watch that video before seeing this one
And yeah, preferred the old one obviously.
@ emphraim
dude new one is good but old one was quiet better

[REQUEST] Note II's Multi Window feature

Hey guys,
just saw today a short clip with the note 2 in action. And the phablet got rocked the **** out of it
The guy using it just made a swype and a bar on the left side appeared, that contained a lot of shortcuts for some apps like video player etc.
So, there were two apps running at the same time. Just looked awesome, really awesome.
It would be great if some of our devs would be able to port this killer feature to our beloved phone. I think there is almost no limitation expect the 1gb ram -.-, but nevermind it will be okay.
In regards,
alex.

hope will be up soon..
+1 and link to that clip please
they are both same resolution.
it could work right?
to OP:
please change your thread title to [REQUEST] Note II's Multi Window feature. Every android phone have "multitasking" capability, not just Note II.
+1 wouldn't mind this either, always a bonus to have more

I think we can make our CPU to work at 1.6Ghz and not 1.4 without heating as Note II.
I believe the processors are same.

Topic changed to your title I just couldnt point it out as good as you But actually only 2 devices in the world can do the multi window feature Note 2 and Note 10.1 But this is imo a step further to real multitasking. Cause the "multitasking" we have on our phones at the moment isnt even comparable to the one of windows... If I hear MT, then I think that a lot of apps run at the same time, but when I just got out of the FB app with Home-button and then go in again, the **** reloads -.-' thas not really what I imagined...

Air touch -note 2-Now use your touch screen withought touching

Hey ..was just looking at the spen how it functions and all that stuff got a new and my first trick n post for u all and its just amazing just go on reading and plzz contribute for me by thanking.
Ok now let me start ..
Soo now let me tell you how s pen actually works .
It's touches works only when its nib is pressed by a force .if the nib is not pressed it simply means it is in air view mode .just observe it deeply.
Now you can use your spen for touching screen withought actually touching it yes..u read right . You can say it AIRTOUCH .
So to use airtouch feature just press the nib of your spen with finger or by sticking tape. On it just press the nib and keep it pressed and use it on the screen keeping ur pen in air u'll be suprised for sure.. its only for note2 and series ..
So now if u are done and got result just help me ..as am new n posting for first time ....
Your welcome..

um... english please? lol I understood where you were trying to get at with this and although I appreciate the effort this method has already been discussed, not to mention your punctuation and grammar is just all over the place.. You should always try to be as proper as you can be, especially when you're trying to share an idea for the first time.

Look at the very very bottom left and see what theme you are on.
You can select XDA 2013 Beta which is the latest "modern" looking one.
