Not sure if this is the right place to post this - sorry in advance.
I'm looking for a flashable MMS.apk or .zip that would give me the stock ICS messaging app with SMS splitting that works.
The only ROM I know that has this working properly is Apex. Every other ROM I've tried either doesn't have the option to split, or does have the option, but it doesn't do anything.
I've searched the forums and could only find themed mms.apks to use. It looks like a few others are looking for a solution to this as well. Has someone posted on this before? If so, please send me in the right direction.
First off it works on codename and it works on markVis's super charged roms, and this should be in general not development, sometime you have to go to settings in messaging and turn SMS split on

Was on CNA for weeks, and a few different versions at that. It was brought up in the threads there, too. Currently using AOKP right now. Will check out markVis's, so thanks for that suggestion.
In my OP, I was saying that some ROMs have the option, but it doesn't "do anything," meaning that the app will still work as if it wasn't checked in the settings. I've re-wiped, re-flashed, and the whole shibang.
If a moderator can move this thread, that would be cool. I'm still (relatively) new here.
The ones in this thread work fine for me. They're based on the one originally posted in oics.

Is that the stock mms.apk from the rom or from a theme you installed? I haven't used codename but the problem reported by the user is something reported on aokp and being that a lot of roms will use features from others I would suspect other roms could easily have the issue. The only mms that has properly worked for me is the one originally released with oics.

if you were on two different roms and it didnt work on either, then it probably is safe to say its not the rom.
try the link to denverg's mms.apk's they have saved me in the past when i didnt want to mess with the 160split problem. but over the past couple of months, i have been on CNA and AOKP almost exclusively and have not had any problems with split. make sure you dont restore data the next time you flash a rom. flash it and test the split, then restore whatever data and see if that breaks it. that will tell you if its the rom or your data. my 2 cents fwiw
oICS is the only rom I've used where the split actually worked. Its the reason it took me forever and a half to leave that rom lol. I'm a big texter and its annoying as hell not having the split, specially when the option to turn it on is laughing in your face lmao. Btw I'm as well on AOKP b28 and would love to see this actually work.

It'll work with the ones from the link. I keep not wanting to flash the zip. I hate seeing the setting and it doing nothing, as well.

I saw these earlier, but thought that they were all themed? They all say "Inverted" on the .zip files. Do I just download the ones that say "Stock", too? And GI or BI (wut?).
They are all inverted. Probably the only place to find the white background would be in the oics thread by aosp. Gi or bi just indicates the color of the icon. Green or blue.

That wasn't what he was implying, for me it's worked on every Rom I've used except for one, and I'm a flashaholic I flash a lot of roms , it could simply be an issue of not doing a full wipe or something
Thought I'd mention split also broke for me on aokp, option is there but no dice. Worked like a charm in oICS..

It says you only have one post. Did you make an account just to post this? That's AWESOME.
Will test this tonight when I get in from work.
Why is there a 10 recipient limit of sending out SMS messages?
I regularly send out SMS messages to 30+ people and on the S3 I am forced to send out the same message 3 or 4 times to all my group contacts.
Is there a mod i could flash that would remove this limit? I prefer not having to use a 3rd party sms app.

That method is not going work. What I want to do is send a mass text or picture to more than 10 at a time. I want to open my mms app select every contact and not see that annoying you reached the 10 recipient limit message
Apple just give up the IPHONE sucks deal with it.
On tw based ROMs go to system/csc in root explorer or any other file mgr with root permission. Open feature.xml and find the line that says <cscFeature_Message_RecipientLimit>10< change it to whatever and save changes. Reboot

There might be a third party app that allows this? Gosms? I'm guessing it is a anti spam prevention method or a network limitation thing. Just a guess though.

Gah! I just ran into this on my GN2 that I've had for barely 1 week. My old S720C running 2.3.6 would allow up to 20 contacts per group msg. Now, I'm limited to 10. I have at least 20 in a group I need to send team updates to, but have to break it into two different group messages to send. What a PITA this is.
How can I work around this on the stock rom?

I was also having the same problem with this. I did the feature stated above and mine was already set for a 1000. So I went back to verify and it still did not work. I was hoping to avoid a third party app for this issue, just so that I do not used up necessary space. When I had the Moto Droid, I think I used Handcent, but after root I was able to do it without it I think? Its been a while since I have used that phone.

Did you uncheck that setting in gosms or the stock messaging app?
Even though you are using gosms ill bet the messages are still affected by the stock apps settings since when theyre received they are still probably stored in the stock apps database.

I'm curious what build you guys are on. I remember hearing about this a few times but it's been quite a while ago. I know FreeGS3 is based on UVALG1 which was one of the two out of box builds.

Its happened on FreeGS3 as well. Though its been a while. The thread linked in another post says it happens on sonic and stock.
So on wicked it happens no matter what app you use for sms?
Does it happen to a lot of people or just a few? About how many sms and mms do you have when it happens?

This has nothing to do with Wicked. I've seen many posts where it's happening on other custom ROMs. I've never seen a complaint about it happening on stock ROMs tho. I've never used a custom SMS app, and it's always happened to me on average of once a week. I've also had it happen to me twice within one day!!! Seems to be completely random. I'm using Wicket V.5 With UVLI8
Okay, once I rooted/unlocked my HTC One V, before I even installed a custon ROM, I noticed I now received video messages split into two files both audio/video and majority of the time the split file ends up being bigger in size than the original sent file. This only started happening after unlocking/rooting my phone, and reinstalling a RUU/installing a custom ROM has never fixed the issue, do any of you have this issue at all, or can offer any advice on a fix? It does this in any SMS/MMS app like stock/SMS Pro, but with pro it plays the files in unisome instead of one after the other.
Now along with the unlock came a wipe, and for some reason that wiped out my APN settings, this is were the trouble began, I was able to manually configure my APN settings through finding the settings by doing a Voice Search, as the APN configuration is hidden on my phone. And my MMS works now for sending pics/audio/video, but the video gets split and this all started when the wipe wiped out my APN configuration.
