as changing imei in this country is ilegal mate dont think you,ll get any answers on that question mate think its against forum rules to even talk about it
It's illegal in many countries, for good reason too. OP has no need to change their IMEI just because they got their device in another country. If their network uses the frequencies the phone uses, it will work.

Well if you say so then can you answer my other question?
This is illegal and no need for it, if u want to use ur phone in another country just flash the International unlocked stock rom or ur phone country stock rom, thayeof course if ur phone hardware supports it...

Not in every country. For example in Turkey you have to register your imei(for a fee of course) to work within the country. Imei's of phones sold in the country are registered by importer.

Hey XDA!
I am very new here on XDA, only just registered!
I have a very bad problem (well for me!)
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100)
It has stock firmware and a custom kernel, Note2Core.
I can't seem to connect to my local carrier, the root of this problem is yet unknown!
Only thing I have so far is that in:
Settings > About Device, right at the bottom I there is United Arab Emirates and a TRA ID and a TA!
I do not know what this means but it looks like my phone is registered to be from the UAE! I personally bought it here in South-Africa and it worked fine. Until recently I was running CM10.1-Nightly but wanted the capability to overclock! I downloaded the stock firmware for my country, 4.1.2, and flashed it via odin. Please help as I am unable to register with WhatsApp or use some of my other features!
Thanks in advance,

I downloaded the firmware from Sammobile.
I don't know if that's the correct firmware, but I am under the impression that I can download for any country actually?
Yes, I wrote down the IMEI number before all of my flashing! It is still the same.
Thanks for the welcome, I already feel like part of the family!

None really, just the fact that I can't connect to my local carrier. I have to put roaming on.
And this has nothing to do with your provider/sim card? Did you try another provider?
Hello, how i can see how much internal memory i have? 16gb, 32gb, etc... when i go to the apps there's only about 10gb but i think the minimum is 16gb so i'm confused.

Yes, They are unable to support me, since I used a custom rom beforehand. My local sevice providers are pretty useless anyway!

Hey Mars, (or is that your location?)
I believe the avail storage depends on your rom, kernel ,ect. I also only have about 9.6 GB avail in stock but about 12GB in CM10.1.
The missing storage is your device rom and/or system apps I think, might only be the system apps.

Firstly, use search!!
Second, Creating multiple topic does NOT make people wnat to help you.
Thirdly, Changing IMIE is highly illegal in most countriesand not allowed to be discussed on XDA.
Mod Edit
As has been mentioned , imei changing is illegal , and must not be discussed on XDA.
Also , May I remind you of the XDA RULES # 5

Hello friends
I just got a NOTE 2, and try to determine its actual origin in order to install TWRP & root it.
The problem is that the informations (screenshots) are contradictory to what I read on the forums.
Sprint U.S's Bootloader
Asian Stock ROM
Verizon's Product ID
Can you help me please ?
PS: Any SIM card (carrier) works on it & there is LTE connectivity choice in Settings

CDMA Tool is probably the best software for stuff like this. I'm not going to type up how it's done though. Haha
Just check out some tutorials on it. That's how I learned to use all the features of the software.

CDMA Workshop will "repair" the ESN/MEID on CDMA phones and the IMEI on GSM phones. It works with CDMA/WCDMA/GSM/HSDPA/UTMS/LTE phones. I know v3.9 works.

One of the things we ask here at XDA is to not do things that can get us into trouble... We neither condone nor advise ANYONE to change their IMEI numbers... It's illegal in most country's... Closed

I have a note 2 bought from Saudi Arabia and brought to Turkey. It's not registired to passport but I can use it with the "clone imei". It's rooted and its android version 4.4.2. I want to install it cynogen mod lollipop or marshmallow. If i install one of that roms, is it possible for phone to lose service ? If it happens, can i make it work again with using clone imei ?
For those who dont know what clone imei is; it's a method that used for android phones to work in other countries. They assign some other phone's imei to your phone.
