Consider downgrading to Gingerbread (if not already), I remember playing Temple Run on my Arc (GB) totally smooth but didn;t try on ICS.

[Q] Problem with games...

Hi @ i am using an Arc S with JJHybrid Official Rom.
If i flash the ICS Doomkernel or the Arc Night Kernel plants vs zombies does not work. If i flash the stock kernel with cwm it works...
Do the kernels have a problem with this??

I'm also experiencing the same problem
For games always use stock kernel, i had a lot of troubles with some games using stockplus or doomkernel. Backstab was running terrible, asphalt had some weird stuttering etc.

I don't believe any work. Gameloft as a company sucks (had issues with MC3 and they took over a week to respond to each reply) and probably will not update for ICS for a while after the official ICS is out. But I have tried stock, KA12, and ICS++ and none worked.
I don't have problems with their games (at least not downloading them). I'm on FXP's CM9 (117). If you want a guide to install: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1600833
(Totally not obvious self-advertising )
i think im going back to gb.. gaming on ics really hurt me
for cm9, maybe the game not compatible with the phone(experienced that on cm7)..

JJ Hybrid is smooth for gaming...
I'm a Temple Run nut and the only ICS ROM where it runs smooth and without accelerator issues (i.e. tilt works properly) is CM9. Anything based on stock seems to be problematic for this particular game in my experience.
With the Temple Run the problem resides on the kernel, jimbo already told us about this.
@spaagetaboutit JJ's Hybrid or Xperia Pureness would be my bet

[Q] Best Rom For The Xperia play

Please can anyone tell me the best custom Rom For The Xperia play . I want a Rom that has a nice layout with no bugs. Also one which is perfect for gaming. Any suggestions???
One more thing can anyone tell me the best kernel to suit that Rom. Thanks...
NXT Lite or NXT 1.3 are the best.
NXT with Doomkernel imo.
There are lots of threads about which rom to choose already, by the way.
signature tells all.
