I have a HTC One X which appears to have T-Mobile UK firmware on.
I would like to know...
1. Is it possible to de-brand the firmware to a standard HTC One X one?
2. How do I know if my handset is locked without having to switch sim cards. If the handset is locked, is there a way to unlock this for free?

As far as I know it mentioned in the bootloader. Hold power and volume Down buttons for 10 secs.
Yes, it is possible to debrand, just flash custome Rom.
Although I haven't heard about SIM locked hoxs, but it wouldnt be possible to unlock it since we don't have s off

Hi all,
thinking of buying the onex in Australia.. the phone is locked to Vodafone, but i am a telstra user.. does anyone know if the one x will work properly on the telstra 3g network at 850mhz once unlocked from vodafone??
Also is it hard to do a rom flash ,as i havent been able to do this on an android phone(not real tech savvy) as i would like to remove any "inbuilt" vodafone apps/links/features from the phone completely!!
Yes. Provided your phone is not sim locked.

Im being told that it isnt sim locked by person selling to me!!
some will say all sorts just to get a sale!!
I'm using an HTC One X from Optus and it works great on Telstra. I'm not sure if Vodafone sells them unlocked but I believe you can get them unlocked by Vodafone.
Got mine from Allphones.

Yep, buy outright (SIM unlocked) and you'll be sweet.
I also bought at AllPhones and am running LiveConnected (cos Telstra bite big time ). I still get the Optus boot screen, but it's not a big deal, only pops up for a second.
Today i bought a one x from orange romania
When i put vodafone sim in it the phone asked for unlock code

Hi Z51. I'm Newbie tonight, seems great site and glad to find it. I've just bought an HTC ONE X + . Phone locked to Orange, though still waiting for a micro sim card from my Provider for years with Cable & Wireless then carphones charles Blunstone bought us over years with them.
Now Talkmobile who uses Vodaphone network equipment. This is an unwanted upgrade from thye seller and although I will try, I don't hold much hope with Orange for unlocking code. Please PSM in lieu of receiving a new sim.
I'll give you my number through there.
Anybody else for help, plse welcome to it.

All HTC Vodafone handset I have owned ( desire, desire hd ,sensation, one x ) have all came factory unlocked

Hai, In order to unlock your mobile you can use unlock codes. If you want unlock code for your HTC one x mobile you can get it from Unlocking4u.com . Here you can specify your mobile model, imei, network and country. Then they will send the code to your mail along with instructions.
No MTP or PTP options available
Hello, I am new to this form. I flashed with AICP - 3.5 - KK 4.4.2_r2 rom today. and noticed that I do not have MTP or PTP options available. I got to Settings>Storage and couldnt find the 3 dots menu which will have the USB Computer connection settings menu. Please help.

Press off and volume button down. Then check what is written on the top locked or unlocked...

I guess he means SIM unlocked, and as far as I know the only way to check it to try some different SIMs in it.

Yeah, they used to call SIM unlocked iPhones Factory Unlocked. i.e Put any sim-card anywhere in the world and it will work.
But if op wants to know about bootloader then like *elmo* said, hold the power key & volume down for a few seconds, you'll see the bootloader.
Hey, I own a HTC One X and my service provider is Virgin Mobile Australia.
My bootloader is unlocked and I wish to return my phone because of the WiFi adapter issues. WiFi signals are usually very weak unless I press my phone near the camera. So, I presume that there is a hardware fault. If I return my phone, will HTC/Virgin Mobile fix the problem free of cost?
I know I should restore my stock nandroid backup, flash stock recovery and re-lock the bootloader.
Still, when I go into the bootloader mode, it says re-locked and not locked. I have no doubts that HTC will know that I've tampered around with the phone. I've had this phone for about six months. Please, please, please help me out with this. I know that I'm a total noob.
Help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Sent from my HTC One X.
I think you have to bring it back anyway to try fix your Wi-Fi issues. If they notice and care they'll just charge you for the repair.

How much will they charge me approximately?

i guess no more than 80$ which is a lot!
i also have the one X (but it's on AT&T in the US), and want to unlock the bootloader to root it... it will always say relocked, and if i ever needed to return it, i would take that up with HTC, right? not AT&T?

Yes it will say relocked, bit you are in the wrong forum. This is the international HTC one X forum, not the at&t, rogers HTC one xl forum ....

This is pretty standard, my HTC Sensation wasn't locked and neither is my One X. Tends to be mainly PAYG stuff & iphones which are locked, although stock can be taken from contract and sold for PAYG from time to time as well
I got a HOX on Voda no bloatware my wife got one too and hers has the Voda craps on it.
When i first got the phone had all of vodafones crap on it but a custom rom solved that problem and i have a voda cid as well just thought it would of been locked to vodafone
Vodafone and orange don't sim lock their phones anymore but still come with all the crap on them though
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Here in Germany, I haven't experienced sim lock on contract phones except t mobile. O2, Vodafone, eplus, all they give unlocked phone with bloatware.
P. S. If your phone would be simlocked, you won't be able to unlock it flashing custom Rom. So it was apparently unlocked

Thanks for all the info guys filled in the blank gaps

To sum it up, if you get the phone direct from Vodafone it will more than likely be branded which means it will have their Crap on it and you will have to wait for their updates if the h-boot needs updating but it will be SIM unlocked so you can use any SIM.
