Best ONE X Camera App?

Hi Guys,
I know there are similar threads, BUT the ONE X does have a very special camera, and I was wondering if anybody has had any luck with any specific Camera Apps yet?
Here are a few that I've tried so far, but nothing too special to be honest:
1. Camera 360
2. Paper Camera
3. Stock Camera App
So far Camera 360 is probably the best, but I've heard good things about Camera FV-5 and Camera Zoom FX?
When you say camera 360 is probaly the best, in what way?
Lower compression would be great, but I wonder how much the imagesense chip will restrict this and can third party camera apps bypass this process. I have tried camera fv-5 and there does seem to be a little less compression, which allows for slightly more detail, also you can save in png, but there is no zoom function.
All third party apps bypass ImageSense. I love Camera360. Way less compression, and the available filters are pretty cool too, better than Instagram~
I use now Camera ICS.
This one can disable the compression (at least it says so) and indeed the files get much bigger (100% in jpeg mode instead of 90 or 95%)
And since it still is JPG, you still can use the EXIF info.
I tried some others, but they did miss options or did also compress or the lighting was worse, or .......
I've tried a lot of 3rd party camera apps and, honestly, I find the stock HTC app to be the best.
Camera FV-5 is very good though.
Camera360 was great until some background process started to overheat My HOX, and I uninstalled it..

Stock HTC app has the best UI, but the worst image quality.

Hmm, can't say I've ever had this problem.
You may find this of interest, I have done a quick comparison between these camera apps.
1. Camera 360
2. Camera ICS
3. Camera FV-5
4. HTC Camera
You may find the results surprising, please visit the following link to the HTC ONE Users Group at Flickr http://www.flickr.com/groups/htc-one/discuss/72157629696073156/
Ive just been using stock ive had no problems with it
Stock is better than camera zoom fx, that thing may have bigger files but it is grainy in low light and over exposed everywhere else (unless you like that).
I can get better pictures using stock and the opening gallery and clicking that edit button.
If you click edit > effects then edit at the top you can manually edit all the filtering

Thanks for taking the time to upload the comparison photos, Radiognome! Really appreciate it!!

The thing about the camera apps is that you can control exposure way more than you can with the stock app. If you were serious about taking pictures on the HOX, you'd be fiddling with every setting there is Stock camera definitely has the better metering, but I still believe that image quality wise, there's still way too much compression. I'll try to do a comparison some day.

Best camera app that allows taking pictures/flash below 5% battery?

What is wrong with Samsung? I found out the hard way the other day that I can't take a picture in the stock camera app when my battery is at 5-10%! I remember this was on the SII as well. ugh.
There are other apps I've tried like Sensor Camera which allow taking pictures at below 5% battery..not to mention loads of "flash light" apps that work and I'm sure drain the battery a heck of a lot more than snapping a photo! Any ideas?
Sensor camera and a few others I tried didn't quite offers the feature set the stock camera app offers (something I can actually say I like for the most part). Would like to be able to switch between video and photos in same app, iso control & exposure, etc.

Not sure if it's 100% compatible with our device, you can try it, though.

[Q] Best third party camera app?

Anyone have recommendations of third party camera apps for our phone? Running CM 10.1 and really dislike the quality of photos taken with the stock camera.
I have Camera Zoom FX and it is pretty good. Anyone have recommendations of a different third party app that works well? I am looking for the best quality picture with everything set to 'auto' as I am by no means a photographer. Thanks!

Try LgCamera: It was simple and very fast for me and sometimes people don't want 400 settings, filers, moes, etc.

[Q] Xperia M video/still camera questions (blueish tint)

Greetings, Xperia M, Build 15.1.C.2.8, Half-rooted (unable to do the full root, I don't know why so I can't do the RW thing)
Like most of you have probably noticed, the stock camera firmware has a bluish tint problem. The camera works great in the daytime, really good actually. But doing some camera app testing in a darkened atmosphere I took some pics in my bedroom with the flash, and the pics look really BLUE. My walls aren't blue, they are yellow haha. After testing with other android camera apps such as ProCapture, the pics look as they should (no blue walls). So it's obvious that it is the stock sony camera firmware that is at fault since other camera apps make the pics look normal.
So saying this I went ahead and froze (disabled) the stock camera app so I could launch ProCapture with the hardware shutter button. But now I have no video recording app ugh. So two-fold question please:
1) Is there a way to make our hardware shutter button open up a different camera app such as ProCapture? If so, how please? (Like mentioned above I was only able to half-root it, the full root instructions just haven't worked for me no matter how many times I tried)
2) If not, and I do have to disable the stock camera app so I can launch ProCapture with the hardware button, can you recommend me what video recording app I can install that can takeover just video recording duties? I think it would need to be for video recording only otherwise I may run into problems with the hardware shutter button again. It has been remarkably hard to find a video recording app on the app store! I have no idea why this is.
Thanks much for your help. BTW, I like the phone. For the price, I think it's really good. And more importantly, the size and shape fits me perfectly :fingers-crossed:
For your 1st question.... I'm not really sure on the x m but when I was still using an mtk phone I was able to change the camera button to open any app I want in android.policy.jar or was it framework.jar (cant recall).. Cant remember which smali it was but I stumbled on it via search for text using notepad++ ... I searched for com.android.gallery in our Xperia case you should search for semc.android.camera (not sure if thats the correct package name for the stock camera app) and change it with the package name of the camera app or whatevar app you want the camera button to launch

try this lg camera : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1677645
Thanks for the replies. As far as LGCamera goes, it seems to not have been updated in almost two years so I left that one alone. Did find an app called "A Better Camera" which also has video recording in it. So I disabled the stock camera and have just been using A Better Camera and it also launches from the hardware button. Better pics too in the dark with the flash. At least my yellow walls aren't blue
Edit: Okay, I have found a way to be able to launch a third party camera from the hardware button WITHOUT freezing (totally disabling) the stock camera app. This then will allow you to use a third-party camera app such as ProCapture etc (that don't have a built in video recorder), allow you to switch between the third-party app and the stock video recorder, but then also launch the third-party app using the hardware shutter button. In other words, the best of all solutions.
You need to at least half-root the Xperia-M (many threads found here how to do that) then get the AutoStarts app from the play store: (not allowed to post links yet). Just search AutoStarts from Michael Elsdörfer
Once you start AutoStarts, scroll down and find "Camera Button Pressed". Select Disable for all the cameras EXCEPT the one you want to use the hardware button for. You're done now. All the camera apps that you selected disable for will still work when using their icons, the one you didn't disable will be the one that starts with the hardware shutter button.
Note: I also tried the app "Default App Manager Pro" and set ProCapture as the default camera. But that didn't do anything, no effect on the hardware shutter button (still opened the stock camera). So far the AutoStarts method is the only one that has worked for me.

[Q] LG G4 Stock Camera app replacements

Hi all.
So i have to firstly say G4 is the best device to date i have used. Camera is great.
I have been using a S6 for a few months prior to the G4. The Camera App on the S6 was good. The plus side of the Software modes for quick set up for stunning shots.
Does anyone know of any Apps that would have the same set of modes or a better app full stop ?
Suppose you are looking for an app that allows saving of presets. Something that should have been available in the stock camera.
There are three 3rd parties that make use of the camera 2 api.
camera fv5, manual camera by vipek and freedcam. The fv5 app wont slow shutter beyond a second.
Whether they 'better' than stock and in which way remains to be answered.
Camera F-V5 lags some features and is limited in its use for the power of the G4.
Manual Camera doesn't work with the G4, already mailed the author of the app about it. App crashes without any warning back to drawer.
freedcam is okay, but is limited in its use and doesn't use every feature or better the full feature set of the G4.
Actually the stock camera app is the best app for all features of the G4 camera, if you need scenes and modes, try another app like CameraMX (No raw.), Camera360 or one of the other million camera apps out there. For full raw power with modes, well, we have to wait. The modes of the S6 won't work until someone will port over the S6 camera app to the G4, but don't expect too much, since Samsung broke/closed the raw stream in their software, so we won't see all features of a ported app that the G4 is capable off.
