Hi,
I flashed this bricked kernel on htc one x ics version phone. After flashing it is not booting into the system. It is stopped at the htc logo white screen. Using pc I go to recovery and reflash ARHD v9.7.2. Even then also after flashing complete it stops at htc white logo. Please anybody help me.
Sounds like the kernel should have been repacked. There is a whole thread for repacked kernels for ARHD.
Flash another kernel over it.
Take faux for example, flash the boot.img in fastboot and flash the modules from recovery and you are probably good to go again !
When testing a new kernel/boot.img there is a fastboot command that flashes the kernel temporarily: fastboot boot boot.img (omit flash)

This is the link to the repacked kernels for ARHD ROMs ... Download the kernel's boot.img and modules which you desire and flash boot.img then flash modules in recovery . The problem you're stuck in htc logo is because you didn't flash the modules . Or maybe the kernel is not repacked for ARHD .

Ok so I just went through the steps again but with the venom flasher aswell
1. flashed stock kernal using latest venom flasher
2. fastboot flash boot.img taken from the viper x rom itself
3. fastboot erase cache
4. aroma installer installed rom
stuck on HTC splash screen, any ideas???
Did you take it out of the Rom again, just now, and then flash the ROM and boot.img?
Or are you using one you prepared earlier?
2. Fastboot flash boot boot.img then erase cache then in recovery wipe data cache dalvik then install rom from recovery

No, flash ROM from custom recovery first, then the boot.img from fastboot. Use a custom, not stock, recovery (CWM, 4ext, or TWRP).

I have no idea what you're trying to say. What recoveries have you tried to flash? How have you tried to flash them? How are you trying to flash the ROM? What is "cyan," ClockworkMod (CWM) or CyanogenMod (CM)? What is a "stock recovery .boot img"? You can't flash anything from the stock recovery. You can't flash the stock ROM's boot.img with a custom ROM. Recoveries do not have boot.imgs that you need to worry about. I am saying that you need to have a custom recovery, like CWM, 4ext, or TWRP, installed. You do that through "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img." You then need to download a ROM zip, boot into recovery with power and volume-down, factory reset, and install the ROM. You then need to extract the boot.img from the ROM zip you just flashed and flash it from the computer with "fastboot flash boot boot.img."

You are using wrong command to flash the kernel.
You are using
Code:
fastboot boot boot.img
but you must use
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
If you miss the 'flash' part, you will hotboot the kernel, that means this kernel is used for first boot after the flashing, afterwards the kernel on phone memory is used.
