I have a strange problem with CM9 . I noticed that when i use the phone until the battery is too low , less than 10% , then leave it with no use for a while the battery percentage increase .For example it was 2% and suddenly it became 5% with no charging .
P.S : Just flashed CM9 with no changes, mods ,or tweaks.
Thanks

hi,
i had that problem too, it was just the battery being on the way to it's death. first, there was the thing you described, then, after a while, i noticed that the battery bloated up a little. i continued using it until it eventually didnt fit in the case anymore and bought a new one then. i was using cm9 b3 at that time and i still am, since it's not a cm9 issue, just bad quality of the battery. so, consider buying a new battery soon

Hahahaha, it's very common, I'll try to explain it to you: If you are using your smartphone quite hard (games, internet...) it starts to calculate how much time rimains using battery (specially when it's under 15%), and it changes the percentage, but when you stop using it, the mobile phone recalculates again how much time it remains and change again the percentage, but it improves because you are no longer using it so the battery will work for more time.
Sorry for my bad english, I hope you will understand.
Thanks guys , so is it the battery dying or just the phone calculating how much my battery will last ?

Do bump charging instead of battery calibration. Search it on google.
-Charge your phone to 100%
-Use this battery Calibration app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration&hl=de
This app needs root
-Then let your phone discharge until it turns off itself
Notice: in this time you're not allowed to plug the phone to the pc or to the charger again until it turns off
-after it turns off plug the phone to the charger and let it charge without breaks to 100%
-Done
I recall that battery calibration was bogus, there was a post which explained why it was bogus in detail. In other words, don't bother, but charge your battery around 50% if you want a healthy battery.

http://bit.ly/KZdfJJ - Why cant you just google it like he said?
also you can go to recovery and select wipe batterystats.bin
Calibrating your battery does not give you extra battery life, just improves the battery level indicator. Android calibrates battery itself anyway (when battery info change to a few seconds)
batter calibration is of no use i have tested it many times on many roms. our ace has not a good battery. so follow common steps like brightness to 0, application background off etc etc.

There is a way to get good battery life in miracle v4 but it took me about 5 days now I get 16 hours off battery with heavy use and about 22 hours for normal use
How I did this
1.let your battery totally die
2.leave your phone off and give full charge
3.still with your charger pluged in boot to cwm recovery
4.now select advanced then wipe battery status
5.now still with with charger pluged in reboot you phone
6.when your phone is fully booted remove charger(you will notice the battery will drop to about 86% in about 10 mins the first time but will get better each time you repeat all these step)
NOTE:I have done this on my wife's s.g.ace with rom miracle v4
And on my Sony Ericsson x8 with many different Rom's
And on my friends Sony Ericsson x10i with many different rom's
YOU MUST USE MAINS CHARGER NOT USB FROM P.C OR LAPTOP AS USB WILL ONLY TRICKLE CHARGE.
If this helped hit the thanks button

And samsung say no update to ics but there are working ics Rom for ace so are Samsung thick or are the devs here from menca ie. People with a IQ of 200+ also was it not google that said android would be lag free from 2.2+ and if that's the case what is the point in developing faster rom's of which all rom's here

according to the miracle v4 developers the battery indicator doesn't indicate about the battery properly ...will charge now to the max even after 100 % and will let you know what happens
I know battery calibration is useless, but how can ace have better accurate reading. And my problem is that whenever my phone deep sleep for a while and i start to use, the battery decrease rapidly after screen in for a while. Its like the battery is leaking even in deep sleep. Is this a common problem for ace user?

Calibration does not improve or increase battery life. It would just help in getting a more accurate battery level reading. Or so i read somewhere.

Hello guys...I am new to this community as i recently registered to XDA...but i know maybe a bit about our phone Galaxy W GT-i8150....That could prove useful to Starters......
Now...mostly Users have problems with battery when they flash new ROMS....the reason is....their battery stats...for example if a person flashed a new ROM with 60% of battery....the phone will detect 60% as 100% and battery will drain quickly.....but You guys don't need to worry as i have found some ways to rectify this problem....Battery Callibration...yes u need to callibrate your battery in order to get long lasting batteries....there are some ways of doing it...most easy is through an app found in play store....Battery Callibration by NĂ©Ma...you just need to charge ur phone at 100%....and go to app and click 'Callibrate' (with charger plugged on!) ...and this will reset ur battery stats....it is recommended (not necessary) to drain out all the battery after callibration and Charge ur phone from 0% to 100% without a gap....
As i am a newbie...so i cannot post outside links...however if anyone needs to get more of it...he/she can PM me at any time and i ll try my best to help...!
I hope this post would prove useful to all of you.....! :good:
I have that app. Never really used it lol what happens if I calibrated it like a 50 wouldn't that mess it up?? So technically it is necessary.. idk lol I'm def no noob but I don't quite understand this app. Batt life seems the same after I calibrate battery (last time I tried)
Anymore info!!?!?!?!

You shouldn't uncharge your battery to 0%.
For calibrate your battery just charge it to 100%, shut down your phone, let it charge to 100% again, go to CWM, advanced, wipe battery stats, before wipe unplug USB cable.
I realize that..I'm just confused about this battery calibration. Doesn't make a difference for me..and yes I agree I never fully discharge me phone. Bad idea
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
I don't know about the ROMs the op flashes, but if my battery is at 50% when I flash a new ROM it doesn't go to 100% more like between 47-50%.
Besides the fact that battery calibration has been explained away as a myth, I can also state "calibrating" battery has never increased my battery life.

Hi, now that i have your attention!
I have cm7.2 democracy on my gio
I barely use it for wifi or gaming now because the battery is S**t.
I had 2.3.6 GB before and battery could take out 2 days on games and music. Now suddenly after switching to cm7.2 i need to charge it twice a day without using any app or game. just some texting like 10, 12.
I use ondemand governor and max freq is 806 min is 245
Also a couple of times i have seen that when my battery is at 30% and charge it then within 5-10 minutes it showed 100% charged. Unplug the charger.
Any suggestions or something on this? I really need an answer guys. Thanks
I can tell you that you can't charge your battery within 10 minutes.
Charge it at least 2 hours, 2.5.

No one has found a solution 'till now?I'll try to use ODIN and go back to stock version, maybe that will help. Has anyone had those battery problems before using a custom ROM?with stock my battery used to last 2 days with games and music etc, now I can only use it for 5 hours without any games or music or internet. It also charges from 0 to 100% in 30 minutes , maybe less. I'm still hoping someone found a solution for this problem because it is useless to have a phone without any battery.
Try to get a new battery because huge draining problem is not caused by roms it caused by battery damage.my battery runs on stock rom over the 10days without using anything but on cm9/10 roms it drains faster but still runs more than 3days for me.
so no one got it?
Thank God I am not the only one here
But guys, I have been using stock GB for an year. Its been only a week on cm7.2 democracy and nightly.
Both have same battery issues and non of this happened in stock
It's not the battery issue.its something else. I'm sure
Have you tried going back to stock version using ODIN?I think that is the ultimate solution before sending my phone to service(I still have warranty).

Try to "recalibrate" your battery; in cwm theres an option "wipe battery stats". some say its nonsense, some say it really helps; i would give it a try.
No idea if theres an option with stock roms, though.....
I'm calibrating now...Will post the result in a while. (Tomorrow i guess)
I still couldn't solve this..I flashed the stock firmware with ODIN and still no luck, I'm starting to think it is a hardware problem, maybe I will send the phone to service now that I have the stock firmware back. Has anyone found any solution?
Hey, i found this article
For the users who like to try out new ROMs very often or by default Android receives updates to Android very often. These updates re constantly pushed to the users to provide the better experience to the users. For those who flash their mobile handset with custom ROM they are advised to charge their handset to 100 % battery life and then proceed with the upgrade processor. That is advised because if you have 50 % of battery life and proceed with firmware update, the new custom ROM will consider 50 % battery life as the full battery stats and this will provide half the battery life then earlier as specified by your phone manufacturer. In those cases you need to go with the battery calibration to gain 100 % battery backup as specified by your provider. There is complete procedure on how you will calibrate your phone battery is mentioned by us and if you would like to make the process very much easier then you can make use of a specially designed application which calibrates your battery. (Battery Calibration)
Okay so i flashed a new custom rom with 100% battery but no luck on battery issue. Its still draining the same.
then i calibrated my battery with this app with my battery at 100% which of course is 50% as said by this article, the app said "Your battery has been calibrated by 6%". Don't know what that means.
ANY HELP? DEVELOPERS PLEASE GUYS!
Try to calibrate it too.It may fix it.

I have the same issue, I am using CM10.1 RC0 by Olddroid but I think my problem is the charger. For the last month I charged my Gio using the usb connection from PC. Now, if I use the charger the battery drains faster than charging with the usb connection method. I am gonna buy a 1500 mAh battery and hope to solve this problem.

Yeah check the battery status. I had the same problem 3 months ago. I was forced to buy a new one.
Re: Please help with my battery problem..>.<
Your problem is NOT ROM related. The poor battery is a common issue with the W. I had my W for just over a year, and when it was claimed by my Son, it was on it's third battery....and I can confirm that I was experiencing similar performance issues to you.....the first battery failed while I was still running stock GB, so again I say your ROM has NOTHING to do with it....
Even if your battery isn't bloated, the fact that it's giving such poor performance is a clear indicator that it's time to replace it......

I had exactly the same sort of problem recently, especially the inconsistent battery level, although for me it showed up most often when taking photos using the flash.
The bottom line is that the battery is totally stuffed and needs replacing. I spent weeks trying to sort the issue out and no matter how many re-flashes of the ROM and full calibrations of the battery I did, the only cure was a new battery.
As soon as I had a new battery fitted and fully charged all the problems ceased straight away, I now get 1 - 2 days of use from a full charge and no random shut downs.
The old battery had started to swell, but was barely noticeable unless the battery was laid on a hard, flat surface which highlighted the bulge that had started to form near the bottom of the battery.
that's why unless you need to travel or are expecting a full day without access to a power plug, charge your battery to around 60-70%. This will reduce stress on your battery and it will bloat in a much later time xD!
on a side note, current rating of chargers will only affect the charging rate of your battery and will not cause any problem to its battery life. so high current charging is good ! (by high i mean 1A or 1.5A instead of the current 0.7A ones that Samsung gives us)
So I use CM 10.1 BUT
it eats the battery in 6H to 15% and down in 6H and about 40mins
is it NOT fun.
How i can improve my battery live.
Please Help
Reply at XDA app on SG Gio S-5660
CM 10.1 eats my battery to i think you just have to live with it ) Well you could try the basic stuff , no overclocking , try not to use to much wifi , data or gps because they eat the most , also not to much gaming so basicaly if you use it for calling / sms / music / picture taking and whatever random stuff , it should last through the day. You could also try calibrating the battery if you didn`t do that yet so charge it overnight , preferably in off-state , calibrate the battery and use it all down to 0% , then full charge again and you`re good to go. You can calibrate the battery with many apps from playstore. Also be careful what apps you install , some can stay in the background and use up cpu/ram/battery. I don`t think there`s a problem with the rom , just that Jelly Bean isn`t really made for 800 mhz phones so it stays a lot of time at full CPU speed hence the battery drain. Hope i helped.
Did you know any good app to control that all

Same here , but still after that 90% it doesn`t go down that fast , still bearable. It seems that my battery life degraded a lot since i bought the phone , maybe to much meddling around with it. I can barely use some wifi or play some games , no matter the rom. Still CM 10.1 seems to eat more right now . If you use CpuSpy you will see that it stays much of the time at full CPU speed , maybe that`s the issue.
I know my CPU is all time fastest it can be because I need Overclock it (min800-max902) because i don't vant it lags all time
