Real simple
Change your DPI to 213, or what ever you want. I'm at 280. I get the nav bar, status bar stays at top. I prefer a home soft key.that bottom is different.
Add these 2 lines to the bottom of your build prop
Save and exit
Reboot
Bam

I found the png's, they're right there in in SystemUI.apk\res\drawable-xhdpi. I'm working on a light blue to match some themeing i've done. I'll upload them when i'm done if you want to take a look.

I found that the extra screen size that can be saved by removing the nav bar and using an app such as LMT to navigate, really got me used to having more screen real-estate.
I was wondering if any of you guys have had any luck in figuring this out with jellybean?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I don't use this mod but there's a line to add to your build.prop that removes it.
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
This tells android that your phone has hardware keys and disables the soft keys.

Worked, a little slow to show at first boot but works now. I can't help but not make a request though, can you upload a version without the center clock and change the date color to the original white/gray looking? It's a little hard to see the date at first glance especially with low brightness. Plus I personally have a lot of ongoing notifications and of course they overlap and ruin the look of the center clock. I would love a version where the clock could just be to the right like normally but still blue.
Works good but can you make the date white and the notification area black and the slide down bar thingy at the bottom darker gray?
I'm being picky, maybe I should just be thankful.

Samsung should have made the capacitive buttons work with the s pen. I have a few times tried hitting them with the pen only to feel like a idiot.
I am not 100% on where I found this, but with a easy build.prop edit you can enable the on screen buttons so that you can use the s pen.
I'm not responsible for what happens and all the usual disclaimers, and have a back up.
Using a root explorer app, go to system and long press on build.prop to select text editor.
At the bottom, add (without quotes) this line:
"qemu.hw.mainkeys=0"
And to turn them off, change it to:
"qemu.hw.mainkeys=1"
Or simply delete what you orginally added.
Enjoy!

The quick answer for the menu soft key is Google disabled it. Apps should have a menu button in the UI, and when it doesn't is when it shows in the soft keys.
It can be made where it is always there, but it takes a ton of coding and would require it to be done for each themed ROM. I might mess with it one day, but it doesn't seem worthwhile as it knows when to enable the menu soft key.
Sorry, but if I do it, it would be for my own ROM. It's hard enough to have time to work on that, let alone touch others to enable something that many wouldn't use
sent from my awesomely huge Note II
This isn't necessary
Just draw a "^" or a "<" anywhere on th screen (pressing the spen button) and it will either bring the menu or take you back, just as the capacitive buttons. Its explained on the spen help section on the settings.

I could resize it so the icons are smaller, but again that requires a framework edit. I would have to do it for every themed rom, or I need a morph zip. If someone knew how to make a morph zip, that would be the easiest way.

Mod, are you planning on doing one for the Official AT&T JB? :fingers-crossed:
Question about toggle choices.
I am guessing this mod has come from other phones besides the SGS3, but I am curious that I have never seen anyone integrate the "power saving" mode that the SGS3 has into the the toggle choices. For me, I like the addition of the data on/off, but miss the loss of the power saving mode on/off.
In the end, most custom roms I have seen integrate this mod, but we still lose out functionality. I can only assume that I am the only one that misses it, and thus in the end, if I want both, I need to do it. However, I bring it up to see if perhaps I am not alone, and maybe there is a demand.

What does this do?
Gives you a bunch of toggles (15) on the top of your phone when you pull down the notification bar.
Please search before posing.
Just to let you know, I don't appreaciate you f-ing up my phone
On another note, this really did f-up my phone. It keeps giving me a SystemUI.apk FC error. I now have no status bar... Any way to revert this without restoring my system?

....the file I put the toggles in is my personal package installer I use for testing, I didn't bother to change it like I should have since I was in a hurry
But, yes there is, pull out the systemUI.apk from your ROMS system/app folder in the zip and replace the one in my installer (in system/app) with the one you pulled from your ROM, and then install

I feel the same way about the blocking mode toggle. It's on the Note II and the Canadian release of jb.

Yea, I haven't used that as much as I just installed JB, but I like the idea of including that as a option as well.
Fixed the titles of the Toggles being off center, uploading a new revision now

This is a small theme edit to the stock theme which makes the status bar black and the quick settings background black.
I've also modded the SystemUI to include the MIUI Battery bar mod. Which can be turned on and off through the battery bar settings app in the zip.
Battery Bar Features
Hide / Show
Selectable Colors
Static Color
Auto-Magically Color (Low Med Reg Charge)
Auto Detection of screen Width ( Bar works in Portrait and Landscape Mode )
Selectable Height
Charge Animation options

What "other" deodexed roms? Just install this on any deodexed rom. I'm currently on Adri's Lifeless and it works perfect. Makes for a much cleaner look! It bothered me how there was two different shades of gray from the notification bar to the pull down.

All the deodexed ROM are based on the zv9 shark boy and I put out anyways. So you can flash it on any zv9 based deodexed ROM.
Very nice work sir. Don't use the battery bar too much but the black status bar looks sweeeeet.
I'm being a little OCD in saying this, but why is there a 1px thin white line at the top of this? It annoys me to the point that I don't use this. For me it really throws the whole clean feel of this off, especially since the line doesn't even extend all the way to the end of the bar but cuts off about 70% of the way for some reason.
Was it an intentional design choice? If so, may we have the option to remove it?

that would be the battery bar. thus why its only 70 percent. to take it off go into your apps menus, click battery bar settings and uncheck show battery bar

Finally I was hoping I could get the black status bar. One small step for my home screen one large step to looking like vanilla ICS!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for the quick reply. I just hope some dev gets it to work with JB. This is the only thing missing (in my opinion) from JB.
