Is anybody else having problems with Gmail syncing. Installed stock jb root66 yesterday and today I noticed I can't get it to sync. Uninstalled reinstalled through market nothing. Installed 4.2 version same thing.

I'm not having problems with Gmail, but I am having problems with Google calendar. I can't get that to sync at all.
---------- Post added at 02:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:42 PM ----------
Not sure if this will help you, but I fixed the calendar sync by unfreezing Google Play Services, I had froze it with Titanium Back Up.
Did you go into your account setting and make sure the box is checked next to Gmail?
I had this problem after upgrading to JB Xquizt rom. What I did was clear data, reboot, go to system setting, google account. At the botom, click sync all

You have to uninstall the previous version first. Worked perfectly for me then. Thanks for actually posting the apk.
Installed this but have had some problems. One is you can't delete mail in your trash folder. Also i know it was a problem for the old one but you can't select all in trash folder. And i accidentally archived a email and don't know how to get you the archived section. Any pointers?
yeah, and how many more years before the gmail icon shows how many new emails you have?
i prefer the stock samsung email client which has more features, indicates how many emails you have waiting, and doesn't require "sync" to be enabled for push mail.. apparently for google this is rocket science.

Nova prime has an "unread" count for e-mail, phone calls and mms.
For those who may be having trouble installing use TB to unistall current gmail apk, reboot. install new apk on root of sd card and use a root explorer to install the new one.
Im not sure why people are having issues with this. I love this update. I made it so I can swype to delete messages plus when you go into Gmail you can see how many unread messages you have.
Were u able to delete the mail in the trash folder?

I never tried it but I did once I read your post and I was unable to delete anything in the trash folder which gets clean every 30 days anyway. But I selected all and did not see a setting to delete even tried to swipe but nothing happened. Very strange they did not add that feature.
Worked for me after uninstall with TiBu, reboot, install.
Thanks. Glad Google finally added these features.

You can't save pictures what kind of crap is that. I emailed myself a picture and it won't let me save it.

Google is always F ing up with their bs updates.
Decent beta app. I can get it to force close with a certain swipe out of my spam folder. I don't think it's fully ready for release yet.

Not sure what same as usual is. If I click add account, it asks existing or new. From there neither one allows me to add my existing @me.com email.
Can you explain more?

So in the new jb update there is an option named cloud in settings. When you open it, it asks you to log into your Samsung account but every time I enter my correct email and correct password, it says invalid =(
Anyone else with the same problem?
No one?
No problem here.

Go to accounts. Delete your Samsung account. Then re log in your Samsung account.

That's what I thought it was but I figured it out. I don't know for sure though. What it looks like is the default settings in the phone automatically requires the password to be an X amount with an X amount of certain things. When you make your Samsung account it requires a letter and like a total of 8 characters. I changed it to a 6 number only password which I belive was causing the issues although I could log in online with it but as I said I think the phone had the password requirements built in.
How in the hell do i get them out of my gallery?! I removed SD. I cleared data in gallery app. I deselected gallery sync in fb app. No matter what they keep coming back in my. It's a lot of pics and it makes my gallery load soo slow.
Help please

Go to settings>under accounts select your Facebook account> then your account again>uncheck sync gallery. Hope that helps

As I mentioned, I did that already.

Do what they said with wiping all data from Facebook and unsync and then delete Facebook and re download it. Just be careful not to sync gallery again

Go to manage apps. Delete data and cache for facebook. You dont have to reinstall it I dont think.

Try settings>storage>miscellaneous and look for outliers there. When Cloud Agent pulled all my dropbox pics, they ended up here and I cleared up 4gb pretty easily.
Disable gallery, unsync facebook photos, delete data from gallery... reboot. . Goo to go.. or u should be

Happened to me some weeks ago. It's the SNS.APK and GALLERY.APK data that needed to be cleared! No need to reboot or unsync anything.
Huh

Hi all
This problem is giving me lots of headache... situation:
I have some contacts on my phone and I want their info's to be synced with facebook.
So I open the facebook app and go to settings, then there's an option at the bottom to sync contacts. When you click it there are 3 options displayed, one of them is to sync with contacts that are already on your phone. So I click this option and it starts syncing everything...
So I'd only want them to sync with contacts that are on my phone... and display their birthdays on S Planner.
Un install fb app.
Reinstall from play store.
When you start it will ask you to sync contacts or not.
3 options.
No
With contact
All
Use with contact.

I did as you told and it keeps syncing everyone in my facebook list.
The Official Hangouts v2 with SMS/MMS is on the Play Store

MMS works PERFECT on VZW, as does video hangout.

And, as @imablackhat revealed, the Play Store isn't offering the latest version (v2.0.122 (904984-30) to everyone, which actually features SMS/MMS.
As of right now, you're linking to version 1.2.018 (without SMS/MMS).
BTW, the Play Store link doesn't mean much when users from different countries may not be able to access it anyway.
Hi everyone,
Let's keep it friendly please, no need to bicker over something as little as an APK post
This post, however, is indeed correct:

Google is pushing out Hangouts 2.0 at a different rate across the country so even by linking to the Play Store link it does no effect if Google has not pushed Hangouts to that usergroup yet.
Thanks!

I disabled messaging in application manager. By hitting turn off. I'm stock no root. I just want hangouts not messaging. Hopefully this won't hurt anything? Thoughts?

Edit. I did this because sometimes on pull down and select it would randomly open messaging. Which bothered me..

I haven't tried disabling it, but I cannot see that it would cause issues. I have not disabled/"turned-off" mine, but I also haven't had it open up randomly either after disabling all notifications for it.

Doesn't really make a difference unless you actually use hangouts. Otherwise it's just another SMS app.
