yes, happens frequently here.
Can you get it to rotate normally tho ?
My lock screen doesn't rotate even if auto rotate is on. Its only when it freezes
It would be awesome if lock screen could rotate.

No. It instantly rotates back to portrait position.
One way to reproduce this is :
-enter camera without unlock.
-put phone in landscape position
-hit back button
and you'll see landscape lockscreen for aprox. 1 second, then it rotates automatically to portrait position.

Rotation is disabled. You can get it to rotate, probably some hack in the framework, but I don't know how.
My homescreen rotates like that when docked into the Desktop Dock, but I haven't experienced that glitch.
This isn't actually new. I knew of this since ICS.

Sorry I mean using pattern lock for example. simple slide unlock will bring you to homescreen as usual

Try Pulling Your Stylus Out Or Slide The Keyboard Open 1 Of These Should Work!!!

What happens when you slide out your keyboard? It should unlock the phone.
I have a password, sliding out the keyboard only rotates that screen to horizontal, I still have to slide it. I lost my stylus a long time ago, is there any way to trick the sensor?

I don't use a password on mine; sliding out the keyboard brings it out of lock.
Try putting in the password via the keyboard after you slide it open.
BTW replacement stylus are really cheap on ebay or amazon.
Try using MyMobiler - you can then connect to your PC and operate your mob from a PC window.
just throwing this out there
I just had this happen to one of the phones at my office. I could not get past this lock screen (btw this phone is crap). Unfortunately for me and the guy we had to completely wipe the phone to make it work.
Remove the battery hold down the "send" and the "end" buttons and when you are sure that they are sufficiently held down press and hold the power button and get ready with the volume up button just in case the phone decides it doesn't want you to reset it (I did this about 8 times before I could get it to wipe). Once this is done go through the initial setup and enjoydelay banging your head against the desk for a few weeks.
The only downside to this is that everything is gone, the upside . . . you can now use your phone.
that's all I got
Oh yea put the battery back in after you remove it otherwise no dice.
there is also a really good desktop program called mDesktop that interfaces beautifully with the phone and lets you see and interact with the screen using your mouse.. It is also a very lightweight program only exe, no install necessary.
Ok, So on my one x(and a second one), when i disable auto rotate, the screen flips over (so the notifaction bar is at the bottom near the buttons)
- this happens on both my phones, from 2 different networks
Notice the auto rotate widget, when it is on / normal the screen looks fine
but when i disable auto rotate it goes backwards!
(ignore the cracks )
normal:

upside down: (look carefully )
Could anyone else try disabling auto rotate via the htc widget and see if the same thing happens?
-G-sensor calibration does not help
-if you power of the phone, then turn it back on while the screen is upside down, it comes on the right way, but flips backwards when you re-enable auto rotate
could anyone please try disabling auto rotate on the phone and see if the same thing happens?
thanks
Disabled it just now, no problem whatsoever

I have the same problem!
It just happened one day and it's been the same since... even after multiple OTA-updates.
I have to have auto-rotate enabled for it to be normal.
Has anyone found a solution for this?
I can't remember how mime got fixed!! It was ether the .29 its update or when I rooted and put a custom ROM(+kernel and everything) on it, so It is definately not a hardware issue
Mine stopped after a reset. Well I also rooted it then, but still at the standard rom.
Annika @ mobil enhed.
My wife and I both have a GN2. Mine is running MyRom and she is completely stock (no root or anything).
She has a problem with the lock screen. Sometimes it will try to display in horizontal mode when the phone is being held in portrait orientation. This causes the lock screen pattern to be cut off.
I have never had this happen on my phone but she had to get her phone replaced (different reason) and it did it on both phones. She has to restart her phone to be able to unlock it.
I tried to mock up what it is doing but my artistic skill is lacking...

I wish I could screen shot because I've experienced the same. But I still just swipe up to unlock and it works just fine. You know how on nexus services the jelly bean clock where the hours and minutes are a different font abs one is bold over another is a description of how the display looks

Check her rotation settings, smart rotation and all. Im sure u already did that and it made no difference but its always the first thing to do.
From my experience whenever thst happens its because of excessive background apps are open killing the processor. Does she kill apps at all? Restarts the phone from time to time? Tell her to kill apps instead of backing out, hold the home button and the right buttin should kill the background apps and thr left bitton will take u to the ram and frees that up by clicking another button.
You can also download advanced mobile care on the phones and it has an option to kill apps when the screen wakes up, slight delay before input, bit it kills background and app processes. Good luck and report bavk

Hello,
My N7100's a little too sensitive to rotation on the right. This just started happening 2 days ago, out of the blue. For the left side, I have to rotate my phone properly into landscape mode but to the right, even if it is tilted 1/8th of an inch e.g. while picking phone up, switching hands or left handed operation, it will suddenly rotate to landscape.
I have tried calibrating the gyroscope some 10 times but to no avail.
Any solution to this?
Thanks!
SOLVED: Read post #8
No one?
It's a bug in samsung touchwiz (4.1.2)..I have it too only solution I got was to use ultimate rotation control it will help or else if you can wait for samsung to fix it in 4.2.2
Here's the app link I hope it helps

@mufaddalezzi Thank you for your reply. However, my problem has not been solved by the app since it doesnt adjust the sensor.
My problem:
Phone thinks its tilted to the right while it is only 5-6 degrees to the right. I cant play games that require motion sensing such as Temple run because the character is running to the right with the phone being perfectly straight.
XDA, i need your help!
P.s: i tried restoring to an older nandroid backup from TWRP but to no avail
Tried. Calibration from the service menu at *#0*# under Sensors and again, no help. This wathe post that fixedit for someone else

Maybe it's a hardware failure(accelerometer or gyroscope)..that means you might need to change/replace it
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Sure? I am not covered by warranty and would hate to sell my phone the gyro works fine its just that the calibration of it is wrong, the phone thinks it is tilted slightly to the right
I figured it out. For anyone else with this problem:
1) Boot phone into safe mode (Turn phone off and turn it back on. As soon as animation starts press and hold volume down button - It should say SAFE MODE in the lower left corner of the screen when turned on)
2) Reboot phone
Voila!
Mystery solved. Case closed.
every time after I played some game. the tablet will stuck in landscape mode forever unless i use some app only support portrait mode then it will stuck on portrait mode again. I have been looking for solution of this problem for several weeks.I know soft mode or soft reboot can solve this prom but after I play another game the problem will occur again. Is there a permanent way to solve this issue?
Are u sure that you don't have rotation locked, if you look at the drop down option window that comes from the clock area in the middle you see auto rotate, it may be locked.

It's not auto rotate lock i tried that. I download andro sensor software after i played a game (any games) it says accelerameter, gravity, linear accelerator, orientation, magnetic filed and gyroscope wait for event. Then i do soft reboots everything will back to normal. Then it will happened again after game

nobody experience the same problem?
I think if you post a video of the problem in action it can be more helpful.
As a work around, the app Ultimate Rotation Control in play store can do a rotation mode called forced auto which will take any app and force it to your sensors rotation, even if the app nativly does not do landscape.
