From what I can tell the N7100 (note 2 non-LTE) is physically identical on the outside to the N7105 (Euro-LTE)?
If I am correct in my assumption, it would mean cases, docks, adaptors etc would be completely intrerchangeable?
I searched xda-devs and I've not seen anything which refutes this?
I am hoping to have my N7105 with me in a week's time and am about to order screen protector and bumper or gel case and car dock but want to be totally sure of a good fit especially on a gel case as there's usually not much clearance around holes.
thanks
Paul
yes they are the same device just different firmware.
the n7105 has a different radio module in it to handle different LTE frequencies..
it's not just firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892996
in other phones, for example the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, there are significant differences between the GSM and CDMA versions (ATT and Sprint or Verizon), perhaps because of different antennae arrangements and even different battery sizes.
Anyone can confirm this? The accessories of N7100 fit on N7105?

I can confirm this.
I know this is an old thread but, I was thinking of changing my housing from white to gun metal grey. The only official grey ones were the n7105. I can get a genuine n7105 full housing which even includes the antennas etc.
I was wondering if it will fit my n7100 and (this might be far fetched) if it would give me 4G?
And s4
I bought my note 2 from someone and it comes with a Spigen neo hybrid case that's labeled for S4(on its package) but it fits .
So if I understand correctly, I can put N7100 screen into N7105?

Hi,
How far did you get with this? I am wanting to do the same. I have N7105 with cracked screen and N7100 perfectly immaculate. So would the N7100 screen fit into the housing of the N7105 and be fully operational...?
Hi, sorry, but I can't tell anything about that variant, because I only was looking to buy N7100 or N7105 with cracked screen, my motherboard is dead (power ic). But if you have both phones at home, you can try to do that, if it not work properly you can change it back any time

I think it should be the same? I just finished tearing down my device and using a video of a N7100 teardown as a guide and it's more or less the same. With some very minor differences.

Yes, it working perfectly, you can change that, but together I change and charging port.
Hi, I'm with a similiar case. Just to make sure, and as far as I understood, screen of N7105 is compatible with n7100, correct?

I managed to mess up the EFS partition on my N7100 and after spending too much time trying to look into that I bought a cheap N7105 with a cracked display.
Then I replaced the the N7100 motherboard+charging port with the N7105 motherboard+charging port and the exchange worked great - so (many of) the parts are indeed interchangeable.

Good to hear this. I have a N7100 that does not turn on any more (probably motherboard failure). I was thinking about ordering a new (used) board from N7105 (to also upgrade it to LTE). If I understand correctly you didn't have a problem with putting a N7105 MB into a N7100. Is the board with charging port required to fit everything together or just optional? All works correctly with the new LTE range? Is it worth the trouble? I was also thinking about ordering an loudspeaker with antenna (they go together) to be sure about the cellar signal. Any tips / suggestions are welcome.
The charging port/external antenna is connected to the motherboard with a model specific cable - so a N7105 MB also needs a N7105 port. In theory one might be able to tweak the connection but I don't recommend going that route if a dedicated port is available.
The N7105 MB has improved GPS capabilities over my old N7100, that is a plus and of course 4G. I got mine for apx 40 GBP and needed a second phone so I think it was worth it.
hi, need to know

Try going to AT&T store and see how much they ask for an screen / digitizer replacement. That is the only way you are sure it will fit / work on your device.
To the best of my knowledge the screens on both models are identical in dimension and capability but I have absolutely no idea about internal connections, etc.
This is why you should be asking on the AT&T HOX forum and NOT in the international HOX forum.

Hi all,
I was wondering if someone could clear up an query i have.
I have a note 8.0 3g with a broken screen, ordered a replacement screen for a n5100 (i thought this was the model i had).
The screen has not arrived yet but some new housing i ordered has arrived also for the n5100.
Problem = the housing for n5100 does not fit as it has a micro usb where as mine has a large 30pin connector.
So my question is what model do i have?
Currently its in bits so can't really plug it in to Kies.
Thanks in advance.
I could be wrong but im pretty sure the note 8.0 only has a micro usb port :/.
Does your tablet have a model number on the back

Thanks for the reply. Just to throw another spanner in the works I have received my screen but it doesnt fit into the bezel. The screen works and I have checked the model in about device and its a gt-n5100. What the im so confused now, one thing I did notice is that after a factory reset the default language was danish or checz.
So just to confirm I also checked all visible markings on the board and back plate and all state gt-n5100!
Help!

You have a bootleg tablet. Another member a while back posted pictures of 2 note 8s that he had. One like you described, and a legit one. Sounds like yours may be a counterfeit or some very early batch they ran before they changed to a micro USB. I have a feeling you will have a hard time getting parts. What happens when you enter the serial number on Samsung's support site? Did you buy it from a reputable dealer?

Ok so after some very extensive research and contacting some part remanufacture s in china they have clarified I have an early demo/exhibition model and they are infact the same as the current model bar the housing, back, speakers and charge port. So I shall order more parts and transplant them.
Ill keep you all posted on my progress and thank you for the replys

Hi all,
I had looked at various threads but could not get an answer.
Apologies if someone had mentioned it earlier..
I had a T-Mobile Note 2 T889 and the screen is damaged, looking to buy a LCD screen+Digitizer+Glass to replace it.
Can a N7100 part work on T889?
Thank you

Hi everybody.
My Galaxy S4 Mini suddenly went off when using it while it was being charged. I took it to a repair store and they said the the phone's Main Board/Circuit Board/Logic Board is done and it only can be fixed by replacing.
I have found an old S4 Mini that I can buy on a website, but the problem is that the phone is a 32 GB version and my phone is 8 GB version. Will it be a problem if I replace it? Will the other parts of the phone adopt to the new Main Board?
I have also found another website where you can order phone Main Boards from China, but I'm not sure what to do.
Any suggestion would be helpful.
Thanks for your time and response(s) in advance.

hard to know as they have probably changed more than just the memory chip, I don't know though. I know that replacement power boards do not always work with newer motherboards, so it's a bit risky. But this sort of thing has worked on other phones, there was an article a couple of weeks ago here on XDA where someone changed the memory 32GB chip for a 64GB in a Nexus (?), but that's a different scenario,
What is wrong with the 32GB phone? If it's just a cracked screen or something you probably have a better chance of putting your screen in that phone and using that, but it's still a slight risk.
Sourcing from China can be risky, but I've bought stuff from there before and it's arrived as promised, mostly via ebay though, buying from Hong Kong is much safer I think.

The 32 GB phone as you precisely guessed has a cracked screen. I hadn't actually thought of swapping the screen. It could even be a better solution :good: (will ask the repair shop first, whether they will do it).

AFAIK there's no 32 Gb version, only 8/16Gb. Maybe the seller is including the microSD memory in the overall capacity?
I've replaced 5 or 6 mainboards of the i9195, the first two were bought in China (Aliexpress), and they worked ok. the rest of the mainboards were bought to a local seller in eBay with a minimal price difference. Here's a good guide to access the mainboard, it was very easy to do (you only need to follow the 3 first steps): https://es.ifixit.com/Guide/Samsung+Galaxy+S4+Mini+Home+Button+Flex+Cable+Assembly+Replacement/47582
Keep in mind that almost all the mainboards are second handed, so there's a chance to have Knox tripped or data inside them. I've had all of them with Knox 0x0, but if you really need it then you must ask the seller before you buy it.

It looks like as you mentioned, there aren't any 32 GB version. I assume that's a misunderstanding.
So, taking your experiences, I assume that changing motherboards should fix the phone and it wouldn't be a problem.
Thanks for your reply. I appreciate your time.

Hi.
In another post someone has asked a question which is somehow similar to your question (you can check it out here Will i9190 case and screen protector fit i9192?).
If I'm not wrong, the answers suggest that the internal hardware are compatible with other models and/or they fit in other model's case, but you may want to send a reply there and ask your specific question.
