dude you should have searched the forum before hand. there is a rooted version live for a long time, just go to the dev section and search.

LOL you must be then!!!
Just flash clockwork mod (cwm) and with it install superuser.. there are guides all over the dev forum explaining how.

I got a questoin cause of the menu where all of the apps are displayed.
maybe as you know with the galaxy s you can switch the apps between 5-6 sites around.
what can i do that this is possible with the desire too?

when rooted you can either flash a custom rom or stay with the rooted stock rom that you had since you got the phone.. search!!

seriously you really need to reed up before you try rooting or flashing, if you dont even know what a custom rom is your guna end up with a very expensive paper weight

cause 4.1 was the giveaway at the i/o for the visitors. a dump was used for the custom roms by bigxie and others... the nearest hat you asking for.
4.1.1 is the official jelly bean release by google.

I shall go hunt for Bigxie's ROM, thanks, stock is exactly what I am looking for.
I tend to shy away from Custom ROM's I simply don't know enough to get my self out of trouble when it comes to updates/flashing if something goes wrong, hence my initial dumb question!

First of all I think this is in the wrong section. Second, the phone was released with Ice Cream Sandwich so there are no Gingerbread roms as far as I know. However if you want Cyanogen you can always get CM9 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or CM10 (Jelly Bean).

No... no soft keys. Its a waste of time. Its out dated and not for this phone. Either flash cyanogenmod 9 or 10.

yes...cyanogenmod team "port" it already...its called cm9 (ics) and cm10 (jelly bean)

Hey i use cm 10.1 in my gsm gnex phone, and its so stable and fast and i love it :laugh: for download link you can search at the forum :laugh: hope this can help you :good:
I have an Arc S with LT18i_4.1.B.0.431_Generic.World installed i want to install .587 so that i can then install ICS JellyBean remix v3 but i cnt find anything on installing .587 please please help my simple minded mind

maybe next time i wont ask then? dam thought this site was about helping others. i did search and that is why i was asking. i as i found alot of links broken or just didnt understand wat was ment to be done. u dont have to install 587 to install the jelly bean ICS remix all u have to is to flash a kernel with CWM inside of it
i recommend this one it works great with the remix

OP didn't specify bootloader status and the bootloader would have to be unlocked to flash a custom kernel doesn't it? Great link if he has unlocked bootloader

Nope, you didn't. You're not the first to say they've searched for something when they clearly haven't and you certainly wont be the last. I came here to learn, not be spoon fed and rehashed old information that I could have found myself by searching. it should i used it on paranoid cm10 cm10.1 aokp slim bean atom .. need i go on lol i never used codename tho

Hi, I'm one of those guys who rips your limbs apart for posting in the wrong section and I just posted here to say this could have been solved before the thread even got created. Well, the simpler part of it. Either by Googling or XDA'ing.

.... I don't think Theme Chooser is going to work on a odexed ROM. 100% of the ROMs that have it that I've seen shared are deodexed. But if the other poster says it works, then it works.
