There is no modem without an entire ROM update. Each modem has its own ROM release. they've all been leaks so far, but we're soon to have a touchwiz jellybean!

There is no point in him releasing the whole rom when there's a new update every other day lol

But I'm able to flash modems with different roms. So it's not necessarily that modems must follow roms.

Right, I figured they were independent from each other. At the least when the modems are for ics builds.

Ljc is the latest tmo version of 4.1.. I'm guessing yours is still on LJA and your on stock rooted ROM. If you take that update you'll lose root most likely.
Ljc has been out for a couple few months. Check what version your phone is on. Bet ya 5$ its still on lja if your receiving an update

Its just a new modem and some minor changes. If you search the threads you can review the change log between the two. Super super minor pointless upgrade

It doesn't much matter. The devs aren't even really using this base much cause the update was so minor. The only good thing about it is the modem. So I guess you could take it.. You can always go back to an lja if ya want. 95% of custom twiz ROMs are lja

Dont forget the voodoo ota rootkeeper, if tou update and you hav root you will lose the root. Download it from the playstore and enable it, temp unroot after you make your backup, then update and reboot, then restore root. = win!

If there was an official 4.2 update for the E4GT, we would have been the first to know about it long ago. I doubt there is a 4.2 update.

Yes I got two days ago. It says jelly bean 4.2 number GB27. I don't understand why this happen ? Because I already run GB27 ROM . any way too late.

I highly doubt the GS2 would get 4.2 before the GS3 and Note 2. Users must be mistaken. Maybe sprint is pushing the 4.1.2 GB27 OTA update now to get everyone with an S2 up to date. Samsung probably found a way to update without a full wipe.

I still don't think they would do it over the air... Its a full update. Last i had seen of GB27 and the like for other devices was that it was through Kies.

I know. That was an assumption if they did get any type of update. I'm positive it's not 4.2.

That's quite an attitude to have. It's only 2 people in this thread claiming anything (well me makes 3) and neither of them clearly stated or claimed they installed and now have JB 4.2. They both stated what I am also stating as fact which is that we received notice of an update to JB 4.2...not that we got the notice, installed it, and are now running JB 4.2. You say it's a well known typo about the version number in the notice. Fine. Right. Got it. But that doesn't mean we aren't receiving the notice of a 4.2 upgrade. The screen shot shows it.
Nobody is saying they're running 4.2. Chill.

I am deleting all my posts here. I will however say that there is no 4.2 update and that what was put out was just a typo.
As far as my posts go, I'm deleting them because my status here on XDA is more important to me than a silly thread that I am clearly stepping out of line on. I worked hard for what I have.

Stepping out of line? How's so, by correcting a few for giving false information? I don't feel neither one of us were out of line. Just people should research really good what they decide to post before giving out false information and getting people's hopes up. If they really thought it was 4.2 the least they could've done was download the over the wire update, installed it and verify it on their phones about section. And with the many threads of GB27 floating around here....
Edit: No matter how minor the change, if an update is issued the build number changes.

It began roll out today.
I suggest if you get it to wait. Knox is inside. Let the devs post a rom for it . the modem file is safe to update I've already done that. @CNexus is currently working on it.

Stock with the 4.3 its really good for everything i just wish there was a way to modify the hotspot like in the custom former android os but i guess id have to wait and see if theres anyway to root and modify things after a bypass has been found for the stinking knox
