Hi, just wondering what is the total storage in your ATT note 2.
mine is only 10.97 GB, way less than the advertised amount.
is it normal?
Yes this is the correct storage left after the stock rom and all of the att bloatware are added on. It doesn't seem fair to only get about 60% of the storage you thought you would have but that's what micro sd cards are for.

Also, formatted capacity is less than 16GB to begin with

When I had my g2 there was a file that was put on sd and some commands entered through emulator and it enable swap partition for memory. It really sped up the phone. Anyone done this on the s3. Not that it's needed but curious.

It's pretty useless for the Galaxy S3: with 2 Gb of memory, your phone will never use swap.
Swap is used when the phone needs more memory than it has. It's slower than ram, but it allows more space for applications and multitasking and this could explain why you saw a difference on your old G2 (I had this phone too and it was very useful for that phone).
If you want a pretty fast S3, try a jb rom. Especially CM10.
If you want to replace ram I don't think so but if you want to swap internal with external storage memory go to this link
http://galaxys3root.com/galaxy-s3-t...-external-microsd-for-u-s-canadian-galaxy-s3/
this will swap internal and external storage memory not ram. I did that and got 11 gb swapped with my 32gb micro sd. It's quite cool now I got a 32gb s3 instead of the 16gb saved $100 lol u can do this for upto 64gb

I tried to order the Note 2 with 32gb of int. Memory but was told that the only model available was the 16gb. Will T-Mobile have the 32gb model? I have the SGS3 with 32gb of int memory and want the same for the Note 2.
Thanks, Vinny

+1 I was wondering the same as I'm waiting for the 32Gb model.

Since the device has a MicroSD slot, one option might be to purchase an expansion card for it. Even 64GB cards can now be had for around $60, and 32GB cards for less than half that.

That is NOT internal memory though and that's the letdown cause a lot of my games are 1.5-2gb for just one game and they can't be moved to sd without causing some type of issues... 32gb is the sweet spot of internal storage as far as I am concerned...
I agree. I I have a 16 gig i9300 and I run out of space quick because of games. I work for tmobile, so I will check and see and let you guys know

Bah. Quit using your phone as a Vita, and you won't have that problem.

I called tmobile but was told they won't be able to receive any higher versions. I don't know if the guy knew what he was talking about or not.
Any idea when these will come out? if ever
Until they stop selling in Korea. In Korea they only have the 32 and 64GB models. They don't have a 16GB model there.

I'm thinking of returning mine and waiting on a higher memory model, basically because Samsung didn't include Apps2SD capabilitiy even when the developer allows for it. The full version of "Need for Speed" alone ate 1.8 GB of RAM or almost 20% of available memory. I thought the advertised 16 GB would be enough but since less than 11 is actually available, apps are getting bigger, and I hope to use the phone for a long time I'm thinking that waiting on at least the 32 GB version might be a better plan.

would the note 2 support 128gb SDXC
More than likely will. Spec sheet always goes by what is out at the time.

Yes, exactly the reason why bigger internal space is great for apps. Music, video and photo could stay on the SD Card.
You guys know that with a custom kernel and flashing a .zip through CWM will swap the internal and external memory right? In other words, you can get a 32gb card and that will function as your phones memory and the 16gb would be treated like the external... Just sayin'

Yup! Still yet, I'm sure TM will at least get a 32gb real soon....and even a 64gb....hence, the timed release of the SIII 16gb and 32gb....
It's all released when it is on purpose...up sales!

Sure it's circumvent convenient but not a deal breaker when I can insert a multitude of sd cards as needed and my library can grow with me.then again it's just a cell. Higher pricing just for added storage when you can get a base model and use as many sd cards as you need for free...all 16 32 & 64 iPhones do the exact same thing...don't provide an sd slot...the galaxy s3 16 & 32 do the same thing but one cost more money lmao....they are playing so many consumers it's not that deep be smarter than the carriers

T-Mobile says that it's only expandable to 64 GB with a microSD Card but of course everything always has it's tricks. So is there anyway to use a 64 GB microSD Card on a 16 GB Galaxy S3?

It's only expandable up to 64 GB. If I use a 64 GB microSD Card on a 16 GB phone then that would go up to 80 GB of storage. The guy at T-Mobile even told me that I could only use a 32 GB microSD card. Basically if there was a 48 GB microSD card then I could use it because it wouldn't go pass 64 GB. This is all pretty much info from the guy at T-Mobile.

I think he means that u can't use any SD card bigger than 64gb. It shouldnt interfere with internal storage.
You can use any sd card upto 64gb regardless of internal storage.

Yes. So you can use either a 32 or a 64. There is no such thing as a 48 lol. But yes no bigger than 64 gigs.

Having a 64gb card is awesome but to get the most out of it I would recommend using the apps 2 SD scripting and of course a really fast micro SD.

I plan on getting a SanDisk ultra microSD Card. Is that good enough?
I dont much care for sandisk, but last I checked they were the only brand that offered a 64gb micro sdxc.
That may have changed by now though.

dude, i had to read this like twice to get what you are trying to say.... and i'm still confused.
let's make this simple. people at t mobile don't know ***t about anything technical 95% of the time. so just, that whole conversation you had with that clown, crumble it up, burn it with fire and hatred.
your device will support an EXTRA 64 GB of storage (via a micro SD card)..... the problem, however, is 64 GB micro SD cards do not come in FAT32 format, which is what you need it formatted to for the device to recognize it as external storage. basically what will happen is you will plug the card into the device, turn it on, and your device will say it is not recognized or something along those lines.
Just to be clear, because i know this all sounds complicated, and it is.... the problem is the formatting structure of the two disks.... you MUST have FAT32 as your external because that is what the device is programmed to recognize. 64 GB cards come in a different file system called exFAT (which is what your internal storage is formatted to)... issues. obviously.
furthermore, the problem with re-formatting the 64 GB card (because this can be done as well to get around that issue) is that because of the file system structure of FAT32, it does not run optimally when the disk size is larger than 32 GB... i have partitioned disks larger than 100 GB to FAT32, but performance suffers.
basically, just get a 32 GB class 10 card and call it a day. unless your ROM/kernel supports exFAT in the external storage, you will not be using anything larger than 32 GB.
hope that made sense. it's late. read up on file systems and block sizes on FAT32 and exFAT disks and you'll understand entirely what I am talking about.
When is 32gb version being released!? I keep hearing different crap and tonight at t-Mobile buying some nfc's I asked and guy told me only online but no date yet. Can anybody verify this as store cashiers are brainless.

Because you can't readily install apps on your external card anymore.
If no 32 or 64 internal coming which is upsetting knowing there are 64's in korea and uk I believe at least get going on the 128 micro sd already and a real hack to swap memory..
Newer apps as nd such will fill 16 (10gb) real quick so I dont see how they dont see the demand. It will only be $50 more to get 32gb phone.
