Greetings! Spend several hours searching, can't find anything clean cut/modern about this.
I'm trying to remap one of the long-press buttons in the SwiftKey 3 keyboard. For example, a long-press z gives an underscore. I'd like it to give a tilde, instead.
I've heard of a few programs that allow remapping, but none seem to be compatible with the GS3. I've found guides about physically editing the keyboard mapping files, and then I've found other posts saying that those files shouldn't be touched.
Any help would be appreciates.
Thanks.

Yep, is there wm6torage?
hotplainrice - you have 6 posts on this forum to your name. And of those 6 - 4 are new threads. I have posted nearly 200 times and only felt the need to create a new thread ONCE.
Creating new threads when the subject hasn't been covered - OK.
Creating new thread off topic - not OK - find the right site.
Creating new thread becasue can't be arsed to see if there's an answer in the many available threads - not OK
Creating new thread because my crack for illegal software doesn't work on x ROM - not OK.
Think about how the forum works - and you'll understand why.
Post this question in a forum that talks about wm5torage
Okay nealed, understood.
Btw, wm5torage works.
Another one before I get discouraged, which forums do I go where people talk more about applications?
None...You just should read more before posting
Wish theres a manual for the search engine.
Example:
I'd search for 'phone pad' in thread title and it'd return any threads with the words phone or pad individually. How can I get threads with only phone pad in it?

You can put quotes around the words to make sure they both occur and in the correct order.
thanks grahamrb.
after searching I answered my own question, theres many resources i just had to search
I was wondering my thread and others go unanswered, probably because its been covered a million times and I didnt search properly and after I did I found it was a simple registry edit. No wonder people always say use the search function.
wow how did you do that what thread did you read i want to do this.
I don't have a one x, but I have a question, why don't we map the long press on the multitasking button to be the menu button? That way you still have the functionality without the annoying bar. Just seems silly to change the entire button to one function. If its a software problem its understandable, it'll just take time, but I don't see why it would be hardware since it has already been changed as it is. Just a thought. Any insight would be appreciated
Might be possible with rooting. I know the key designations in android is just a text file.

This is the wrong section but I honestly don't understand why the multitasking button is commonly changed to a menu function. I think the text file changing works in sense roms but i've tried to do it with CM9 and it didn't work. Highly likely I did it wrong.

I've searched high and lo and cannot find a solution for launching Google Voice Search without Home2....
It seems to me that Home2's hooks cause one heck of a delay between pressing the home button and actually going to the home screen.
Is there any "root" solution to this?
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317259
[ROM] deTmobilized 1.1 (6-10-13) (UVDMD5 4.1.2 Premium Suite) AT&T Port
If you look in settings there's an option to pick between s voice and Google voice

Nova launcher will let you map home to voice search
I think there's a new layout on the forums now, it looks a lot messier because now you have to keep scrolling just to look for forums you want, I think the old layout is more organized.
Seriously I have to use ctrl + F just to find the forum I want.

You could use the "Type to find your device" search box. Also there is a tab layout on the main forum page at http://forum.xda-developers.com/ so you could just press the participated tab or one of the other tabs to find a forum quicker.
You can use the type to find your device as mentioned above. Or bookmark your favourite forums.
But nothing has changed recently regarding layout. It's been this way for a long time.
