Since I'm not yet allowed to post in the Dev forums, I am asking here. I downloaded the updated ROM that wildstang posted this morning but it wouldn't boot after flashing. I just now read the instructions about what to wipe but still wanted to know if I need to flash the second file located onder the ROM link or will just wiping the specified data and flashing the zip suffice?
Thanks,

Do all the wiping FIRST, then flash the ROM zip file. The second link is for the data throttle remover, and isn't needed for the ROM.
EDIT: If you just flash the zip file without doing the wipe instructions in the post, there's a good chance you'll have issues.
See this thread for what the DTR is/may or may not do.
Thanks, just did the wipes/formats and then flashed. doing back up now and hoping it all worked well. I can always go back to 4.06...
Hi. I have an unrevoked rooted incredible and I installed the jermaine151 ROM last night that has the 4.06. Is there much difference between that and wildstang's ROM that has the 4.08?
When upgrading from 4.06 to 4.08, do I follow the instructions for complete wipe (listed with wildstang ROM) or can I just do the 'upgrade' install that I read on that same forum?
I tried to follow the lingo and I can't post in the developer section (probably a good thing). How can I go from the modified 4.06 to wildstang's 4.08?
Sorry, I am a chemistry guy... If someone could direct me to the right spot...

You'll want to follow the instructions in Wildstang's post about doing the full wipe since you're coming from a previous modified OTA, otherwise you may have issues.
EDIT: You'll probably want to back up your current ROM first in case something goes wrong, so you'll have something to restore that is working.
Who would have thought that following the instructions would work??
Thanks a million!

Anyone know how I can get into clockworkmod using jermaine151 ROM? Do I need to download the CWM boot sound file on that forum page- jermaine151 4.06 build?
I'll go ahead and back up my current ROM... Do I need nandroid? or can I copy some files off to my laptop to transfer back?

You're looking to get into ClockworkMod Recovery to flash that file correct? You can hold down the power button (with phone on of course!), select Restart - Recovery; or with phone off hold both Power and Volume Down, you'll get to the bootloader, then with Bootloader highlighted press Power - wait a few seconds (make sure you don't have a PB31IMG.zip file on the root of your SD card) - hit Volume Down to highlight Recover and press the Power button again.
You should always create a nandroid in case something goes wrong, you have a recent backup to restore to. You can then always move your backup file (nandroid) to your PC in case your SD card dies, but it's always good to copy your entire contents of your SD card to your computer too.
I see how to get into there now.
Cool. Thanks!
I just read that there will be a modified version of the jermaine151 build to reflect the 4.08... I like the advanced power menu he has and the fast boot... I may wait for that.
Sorry for being newbie about all this.

No that's okay, don't worry about it! I am not sure how long it'll take Jermaine to re-base his work, he's pretty good with that stuff, so maybe by this weekend or so? That power menu was tweaked so a lot of what you see was added, but I cannot remember right now who had their hands in on that...but it is pretty nice!
I use Quick Boot from the Market to reboot, you have similar options, you can: Reboot normally, reboot into Recovery, reboot into Bootloader, or Power Off.
Every time I try to download the link, whether to my PC or my phone the zip is invalid.
I can't seem to download and flash ANY custom ROM to my Note 3. I am rooted, running TWRP. I have tried XNote, DarthStalker, Jedi etc. I keep softbricking the phone.
This time while trying to flash XNote I made a backup via TWRP and could not even install it after softbrick with XNote.
I keep having to download stock firmware form SAMMOBILE and flash via ODIN, therefore losing all of my data.
If any more info is needed please let me know and thanks in advance.
Need more info.
What version of recovery are you using?
Are you verifying the md5 before trying to flash to ensure that the rom you downloaded is 100% complete?
RE:
Thanks for your response.
I am unsure on the version, I currently downloaded the 2.6.3.8 and will be flashing after I get the stock MD5 flashed.
Maybe that's the issue.
It will not even connect to Kies ATM.
Hopefully I can flash the stock image because I already had one on file and could not flash it, it stated T Mobile unverified in Odin. I did rename the file so I wonder if that had something to do with it, lol.
Thanks
EDIT:
DarthStalker and Jedi:
Do not download as valid files to my PC or the phone. I used the links from this site.
XNote:
I did not verify the MD5 on first attempt, on the second attempt I did verify with success but it went to bootloop. The files I downloaded might not be valid.
I am frustrated with some links here, I was not registered and attempted to download DarthStalker, Jedi. For some reason my PC says the zips are not valid so I registered with same results. Currently attempting to download LabRats from this site.

Here is the direct download link for the Darthstalker v4 note 3 custom rom:
http://m1.androidfilehost.com/downl...ame=DARTHSTALKER_NOTE3_V4.zip&action=download
Download it to your pc and then copy the zipfile to your internal sdcard.
After it's copied re-boot the phone and and flash the rom.
Be sure to do a complete wipe including DATA/SYSTEM/CACHE/DALVIK CACHE & FACTORY
RESET before flashing.
Good luck!
RE:
Thanks!
I was finally able to install a ROM.
LabRats was the only link I downloaded that has worked.
How would you compare DarthStalker and LabRats?
Not really a fan of all the Anarchy stuff but seems smooth so far.
I used to really enjoy JellyBam and I like Carbon on my Nexus 7, love the pie controls.
Thanks
I will try the link you provided, thanks again.
EDIT:
YOUR LINK IS NOT WORKING, SAYS JAVA IS NOT ENABLED?
Viper Mod
I could not be any more pleased with the Viper Sound Mod.
When I use my phone as an MP3 through my aux. jack it's like a freaking amp is installed to my coaxials and tweeters. I don't have a system yet but I installed some Polk DXI coaxials and all I can say is DAMN!
Great mod and props to the creator.
Opinions
Still cannot download other ROM's.
Currently running LabRats, only file that I was able to successfully flash.

RE:
I would post in the developer thread but my post count is too low.
This LabRats ROM is really stable, battery life is pretty good too.
I usually lime to flash ROM'S pretty frequent so I am curious about a few others.
Anyone have any input why I can't download Darthstalker or Jedi ROM'S?

Guess now I can ask the developer....
I want to return to stock m8. I have the twrp back up and followed instructions putting it in to folder twrp-backup but when i boot into recovery the file folder isnt visable in the restore section. I can find the folder in the install section but without any executable files in. Im really stuck bin at this for hours. I followed the youtube video to the letter combining with the written instruction and cant understand where im going wrong. If it helps im on three uk. Any help would really be appriciated
Make sure the extracted backup folder is placed at TWRP/BACKUPS/YourDeviceSerialNo/FOLDER here
thanks for the quick reply, however the problem persists.
nothing is showing up in restore. when i rooted the handset i didnt install a custom rom just the custom recovery. now following the instructions for unroot i have to install a stock rom?? the version main on my m8 is 1.54.771.9 but the version of the stock im trying to install is 1.54.771.5 for three uk. i dont know if its because i have a stock rom onboard and the new one is an earlier version. if i dindnt install a custom rom why do i need to install a stock for unroot? cant i unroot using superuser then flash stock recovery then relock bootloader?
sorry its turned into a Q and A but i really dont understand
Can you make a backup with the TWRP recovery that you have now, only backup the boot.img. Then check in restore whether you can see it, if yes that's the place to put your full backup
From where that you got the 1.54.771.5 backup ? If it is from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
this backup is for Philz recovery.
Oh yes your right but i was mistaken iv actually downloaded the twrp above it as its the only twrp avail for my cid this is the recovery iv tried but no luck. I will google how to make a back up of the twrp im running and give it a try. Is there no set default location the restore option would be looking for the recovery? Also in the stock rom i downloaded there are 9 entries inside but on the video tutorial his has more. xda is the only repo for these stock roms i can find so if its not a complete img then what do i do?
The location is as I mentioned above for TWRP.
I have no idea what video you're talking about.
I've seen many follow links outside of XDA but when they have problem, they come here .. I don't know why they can't get help from those outside links.
About the content of a TWRP backup, usually is 9 when there is no md5 created. In my nandroid backups that uploaded, there are only 8 files because I remove the recovery.log too.
And CWM or Philz recovery have about 14 or more

Just google for outside links if you can find one that are not linked back to XDA.
For me, what we have on XDA is good enough.
Original Post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2760895
I have downloaded the backup zip file, extracted it, copied to the sdcard, booted into recovery but when I attempt to restore I get a "MD5 Mismatch" error.
I've read through quite a few pages of the original post, but all I see is a lot of people saying it worked for them.
I am running 4.1.2 rooted, CWM 6.0.4x.
Can someone shed some light on what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
Mike
SOLVED
I found the issue on page 8 of the original thread. I read up to page 6 before I figured I was the only one having the issue and posted.
It was of course the fact that the files were extracted into an additional subdirectory and I was not pointing the recovery to that extra sub-dir. Once I moved the files up one level the restore went perfectly.

So I was getting tired of the rom I was on and decided to switch. I am using the BUMP'd twrp by the way. I did something really stupid. I restored the stock rooted rom while searching. Apparently it auto updated. I can now no longer get past twrp recovery no matter what i do, restore, reinstall, wipe everthing. If someone can link me to a guide using adb to flash a stock iso or something? Please help this is my everyday device.
Rule one to flashing: never flash without a backup. It sounds like something went wrong but if you can actually get into TWRP you should be able to flash either an older backup (easiest) or wipe and reinstall your current ROM. If youre wanting to go to marshmallow anyway (And as someone that has used their G3 from Jellybean all the way through to marshmallow, I cant recommend it enough), see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/stock-d855-30b-images-kdz-flashables-t3282012
Autoprime was nice enough to pack it into 3 seperate flashable zips. Follow those instructions TO THE LETTER.
IF you can't get into TWRP for whatever reason google "D855 6.0 marshmallow official update" and find something that shows you how to do it with the official flash tool supplied by LG. Can't link it cos im not sure if im allowed to link to outside websites here.

not only did i use backups i een tried to install a new rom. nothing worked. thats why i was trying to get a tutorial on what to do from here.
