If you have the twrp u will have get back to stock recovery... most probably u'll have to:
Flash the chinafines stock rom from the original android dev thread, run the triangle away app to reset the modif counter, run the unroot from the super su app) & only after that to boot into stock recovery to reset the whole phone.... once thats done the phone is a virgin)

I need to return my girlfriends S2 under warranty. It is still on stock GB, with root and CWM recovery. What do I need to do to unroot and bring it back to stock recovery? Just ODIN? Got any links?
Thanks
Use search and you will find what you're looking for.

I did search. ODIN is what I think I found. Just wanted to make sure Odin removes everything, even the recovery.

Use Odin to flash a stock rom. It will turn your phone to original state.

This may be a dumb question but to install a recovery from goomanager... You have to be rooted right?
I'm stock now and trying to install a custom recovery and then flash roms... Are there any custom recoveries you can install from Odin?

You need root to install custom recoveries also to flash ROMs. You have your choice between twrp and cwm. I know twrp has Odin flashable files on their site. Easy as pie.

Root with the easy way listed in this forum and then open too manager and chose option in menu to flash open recovery and start rooting!

Bah there a simple way hut trips then flash counter ( which does matter because we can clear the flash counter)
Its just say casual rooting I think. Its intended at&t development section. Its a one click deal basically. You need to be rooted to do anything with odin

Well, as far as I know you would have to root your device, you can look in the development thread for lorjay, he made a 4.3 rom, after you follow his directions for "coming from ota with Knox" then you can go here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086769, & follow the op to restore back to stock mc2. Only way I know of, hope this helps.

You don't need to root to downgrade.
1. Install custom recovery through Odin but do not check the reboot option.
2. Pull battery and disconnect from PC.
3. This is the hard part. Press and hold vol+, menu, and power while inserting the battery.
4. In recovery flash stock mc2 with counter reset. Also if you want root flash that also.
5. Now you have are on full mc2 ( baseband, radio, bootloader, ROM, and kernel)
This is a tried and proven method of downgrade for those with and without root.

When you say flash MC2 with counter reset that is from this thread right? : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086769 Just want to make sure! Thank you and also what recovery do you suggest? I do not need root neither just want to go back to 4.1.2 . If you can point me to the recovery I wish I had learned this when the phone first came out it makes it harder to learn as times goes on . Thank you!
Yes that is the one I was referring to. Any recovery should be fine.

One last question can i just download the 4.1.2 for sprint's note 2 and flash it in odin? That method seems the simplest but not sure if possible on note 2. I see it working on the S3. Thank you!
You can try but it won't work. The only way to do it is follow the directions I gave you. If there was an easier way I would have told you.

If you made a backupour stock rom after su setup and custom recovery then yes you can as long as you are on the same bootloader the stock rom was on. Just restore after a thorough full wipe and use the the triangle away tutorial from the point after you should have opined back to stock, installed custom recovery and su. But you should Odin back anyways because this is unfounded and gremlins don't like to be aborted. Just remember you want to send your phone in for warranty and you want to eliminate all modded softwares and Odin will eliminate the leftovers!
You can try this
http://www.androidrootz.com/2013/06/how-to-unroot-galaxy-s4-without.html
Every time that I try to download the tar.md5 stock file it keeps saying bad file size.what would cause that.I tried downloading the file twice with no luck. Thanks
