[Q] Can no longer mount emmc? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I'm running AGAT's FI27 repack, and just noticed that I can't seem to get usb storage in my rom anymore. So I went into recovery and hit mount usb storage and I could only access my external sd card and not emmc. I used to be able to access both in recovery, but now just external sd. I tried reflashing back to stock and then the kernel again but I'm getting the same problem. Any ideas?

I know he had a few versions out there after FI27... are you on the one currently linked on that thread?

Try his fi27 source 6.8 he fixed the SD mounting in it
Oh internal storage. I'm not sure if that's working

Need help asap!

ok here is the situation, i got clockwork recovery installed and wiped all data to flash a new rom, but my phone wont read the memory card so i cant flash the rom. How do i mount the phone to move the rom over to the internal storage with clockwork or how do i flash a rom using odin.
Does the phone boot up? If so, are you saying that the SDcard isn't being mounted or are you referring to inside clockwork?
the phone boots up, but i dont know how to put the rom in the phone so clockworks will see it
Im trying to mount the sd in clockwork but my computer is not seeing it, any ideas?
Get an actual sd card
Dont use the phones virtual sd card

In the blue clockwork, go to install zip from sd card, then select the option above the "go back" option, I believe its choose from external or something.

Edit:
you can flash from the external from the external sdcard if you go to
Mounts and storage
and mount emmc - if you have the option. Once that is done go to flash zip from sdcard, then (and this part is counter intuitive but) select
Internal sdcard - and this will actually take you to your external sdcard.

It depends on what kernel your running. Some kernels with CWM are not "fixed" to see the external sd card. To make things worse some of the kernels won't allow usb mounting. I'm on Chris41g's kernel and it does in fact see and flash from the external sd.

not sure if I bricked my phone

So I rooted my SGS3 for the First time today. Got root access. Got my favorite root apps (still on the stock rom btw) and decided to flash a custom rom. I tried to flash the Wicked ROM and used a Superwipe before it. After that I rebooted the phone and the rom never booted. Went back into CWM and when I tried to install another rom or backup, nothing was there. Says file not found or something. Doesn't even show the sd card files I have. Confused. Any help?

What I've come to understand is that the files need to be on internal storage but I can not access the internal storage anymore. I can access download mode but not internal or external storage via usb cable. Any help? Thanks

Try restoring back to stock with odin.
Edit: To use odin all you need is access to download mode which you have...
what do I need to restore to stock? I do not have a stock rom. And it only accepts tar files

It possible. Just flash an international rom . I get what your saying tho. Odin ftw

so how can a file be pushed into the internal memory. Because cwm is not readding any files off the sd card. And they are there. Not sure how to flash a rom from odin, if that is even possible. Because it only accepts .tar files. and I believe md5's
I suggest seeing this post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31890391&postcount=2
It is located as post 2 of the top OP in the Q&A thread.
Good luck
thanks. I got the phone back to stock recovery and a stock rom. Just can't get it recognized by my laptop. Not sure if it's a driver issue or what. But can not find the internal or external drives in "My Computer".

[Q] Help! Internal SD disappearred or not working

Hi, I am having some problem with my internal SD.
I was on CM10.1 Wild for the Night 02/06 build and the internal SD worked fine. I was also able to mount the internal SD mass storage to my PC as a drive earlier, but not today when I was trying to copy new ROM onto it. The problem is when I selected turn-on USB file sharing on the phone, it seemed trying for a long time until the screen is turned off, but when I turned on the screen again, the USB sharing is still off, and I could click to turn on again, and it does it again, never successful.
So I decided to flash a different ROM to test it out. I flashed rooted stock EL29, and OTA upgraded to FF18, then FI27, then FL24, everything else if fine except I cannot access the internal SD. When phone is booted, there is a pop up windows says "the process android.process.media has stopped". Going to settings->storage will crash the settings app. My files app will crash also. Both Astro file manager and ES file manager shows empty /mnt/sdcard, and /mnt/ext-sd or /mnt/external-sd does not exist.
In CWM 5.0.2.7, when I go to Apply update from zip file on sd card->choose zip from internal sdcard, I can still see all my files in the internal sd card. But I cannot find them after the phone is booted.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I also have an external SD card inserted, but I cannot access that either. In ES file manager, /mnt/sdcard is empty. In CWM 5.0.2.7, when I try to choose zip file from sd card, it says cannot mount SD card.
In CWM, when I try to mount usb mass storage, I still cannot access either internal or external sd card on PC.
So I have no way to copy my files from the internal sd card to either the external sd card or the PC.
Try pulling your external out and turning off the phone. Then re-insert it and boot up. Also go into CWM and do a factory reset if that doesn't work. Worst case, do a one click back to rooted stock with odin and start over.

Thanks. Finally fixed it.
I one-click flashed to EL29 again, and was able to access the internal SD.
One thing may or may not have helped: before EL29, I also did a restore in CWM 5.0.2.7 to a backup I did in Nov 2012, most likely from rooted stock EL26 or EL29. Although it said the restore finished, but I noticed the log said boot.img and system.img not found (or something similar), and anyway, I don't thing the restore was successful. But since the last time I one-click flashed to EL29 did not fix the problem, this restore may have helped this time.
Also, after I re-formatted the external SD, I was able to mount SD now.
After over-air updated to FL24, I flashed CM10.1 Wild for the night 02/18, and everything seems to be fine now.

[Q]Backup during Bootloop

So my phone is in a bootloop. I made a dumb mistake, and restarted my phone to be met with a bootloop. My question is - is it possible for me to get my files off of the phone before reinstalling/doing a fresh install? I have access to both download mode and CWM Recovery - I just have some files on here that I really need, and unfortunately, they aren't replaceable. Is there anyway for me to get them off of my phone? I'm running WFTN.
I've tried starting up CWM and backing up to external-sd, but every time I do I get a "can't mount backup path" error. So I go to Mounts and Storage and try mounting my external sd, but I get a "Error Mounting /external_sd!" message. Can anyone help me out?
Edit
Actually, I managed to get the files I needed. I needed some recordings off of the phone, and I was able to plug my phone into my computer via usb (in CWM) and it gave me access to the phone's internal SD card. So I suppose all that's left is actually re-flashing the ROM. I was running an older version of WFTN, I suppose i was due for an upgrade anyway.
However, I suppose my original question remains - is it possible to backup the files on the phone (without using the usb)? Is there a reason I was unable to mount my external sd card?
Just because you are flashing a rom doesnt mean your recordings or anhthing on your sd card is wiped when you flash a new rom. The exception being if you use odin to put a oneclick of a jellybean rom on. Then it wiped internal. And if you are worried about sd card just pull it out. Iirc I was always able to pull files from both internal and external while in recovery using el26 kernel. Not sure where the problem was. But glad to know you got your files.

noob needing advice

Hi folks I'm new here so go easy on me
I recently installed CyanogenMod via the installer but I mid the s-pen functions more than I anticipated so I have been looking at the different ROMs on here and decided to try Phoenix ROM. when I downloaded the ROM and super clean as described in the instructions I placed them both on my ext SD card but I can't flash from ext SD via Phil's cwm as it doesn't find the SD card it says its not mounted. Is it OK to place the 2 files on my phone root directory to flash from there or will super clean wipe them from there too before I can flash the ROM.
Thanks in advance

if you use a super clean wipe Zootscript Megawipe to clean, yes it will erase your internal USB storage.

Its a 8gb card I've got a 32gb one coming in the post but I'll have to wait a day or two for it. I know the card is working fine as I can transfer stuff to and from it but when I try to access it from recovery is keeps saying there's no card mounted

switch off and remove battery and place the ext sd and boot up and see if it detects on phone now proceed to recovery and wipe there u can even find a ption to mount internal storage so after the wipe u can place your file to internal sd but before doing anything just verify if the mount is working and if the ext sd has detected or not
Tried that but no success still says unable to mount path no matter what I try to do withe the external SD it works fine from the phone just not during recovery. Could it be a bug in cm 10.2
How do I get the ROM to the internal SD if I mount it with recovery can I connect it to my laptop and transfer of over from it.

I've tried formating the SD card to fat32 and flashed the latest cwm recovery and still no joy with being able to use the external SD to flash from. So if I do the super wipe how do I get the zip file for Phoenix ROM or any other ROM for that matter onto the phone to flash it
well, i am not sure it will work or not,
but have you try with OTG cable + thumbsdriver/ pen driver with the rom in it to connected to your phone to flash in recovery ?
if this dont work, probably u will need a brand new memory card for sure
Well i finally got it sorted i flashed the latest cwm recovery again using the internal memory and it worked i can now access the external sd card from recovery so im now running phoeniX v14 and sofar im impressed and glad to have s-pen functionality back again
