i could never choose between the speediness of swype and the accuracy of swift key. Hopefully with this, i wont need to switch between two keyboards anymore

I've been using FlexT9 keyboard for quite awhile. It's like swype with better word prediction. I like it a lot but it's not free. The new SwiftKey Flow won't be free either but it's cool to be able to try a beta

I can't live without SwiftKey. Adding swipe functionality to it will be icing on a cake.

I would say that a more realistic expectation is that the beta will be available in a couple of weeks to a month. That is purely conjecture, but I think that it will be more accurate than a few days.
I am looking forward to checking it out as well. I have been running the Swype Beta for a few days now to get used to the input technique and to have a fresh point of comparison. I will probably flash the 4.2 Keyboard tonight as well for the same reason.
If you sign up for the beta now, you will get an email when it is ready. Also, if the day it is released is like the day SwiftKey 3 Beta was released, the servers will be gridlocked. I got kicked off several times trying to sign up that day, and the VIP member base has basically doubled since then.

Oh my gawd! This is actually happening? I've always said "SwiftKey needs Swype! SwiftKey needs Swype!" and then it would be perfect! Thanks for showing us this. I just got real pumped for release.

The Samsung keyboard that came with the Note 2 is powered by SwiftKey Flow. SwiftKey announced flow within a day of the release of the Note. So that seems like the explanation of timing.
Now to the next part. Someone claimed that the 4.1.2 leak for the S3 (I don't know which carrier) has the same Samsung keyboard. I read that our phone's jelly bean leaks are ports from the S3, so I was curious if it might have it too. Has anyone reading this thread tried the leaks? I might flash a leak this weekend just to find out.

I really hope you are wrong, because if you are right, it means that SwiftKey flow will be available only for ICS or JB =(
And I want that keyboard! XD

Yes, the Samsung keyboard with Swype-like functionality is included in the leak

I'm running the FK09 JB leak on my E4GT. The Samsung keyboard in the Rom with word prediction is pretty good. Only issue i have with it is the keys are too small with a lot if space between them. I still prefer the Flex T9 keyboard with swype function and word prediction. If you want Swift Key with swype, that's basically what Flex is.
I would be surprised if Swift Key flow didn't work on ICS. I've also tried the new Android keyboard with swype on JB 4.2 on my Nexus 7. The word prediction is not very good yet but I'm sure it will get better.

I am sure that SwiftKey will make it compatible with older versions of Android, but it makes sense that Samsung doesn't care to try to.
I am just saying that making it work for any phone on any version of Android is probably why they haven't released it yet. I am looking forward to it as well.

Thank you for the confirmation. On the Note 2 it plainly said SwiftKey Flow in the settings on the Samsung keyboard.

From the video that they posted, it looks like it will operate on top of the same layout as SwiftKey 3. I have tried the Swype beta again recently and it has improved, but I still prefer SwiftKey. I will have to try Flex T9 as well.

Still waiting on the beta code to hit my inbox. Using the 4.2 keyboard without issue so I know swift key flow will be fantastic.

well i just got an email saying i got into beta and that i will receive the install instructions soon via email. so it should be any day now-

Thanks for the post, just signed up for the beta, I signed up for the Swype beta back in the day and it took over a month to get a response, I'm certain that won't be how it is with this one. I'm stuck on keyboards with swiping ability, but I REALLY like this one even tho I have to hen peck it out, so hoping I can have a new keyboard home with this ones new ability.

Wo-ho! Fast space! You can swype to the space, so you can type two words without releasing the finger...!
Seems pretty awesome!

It looks like a leaked video featuring a new feature called "Flow through space". This Let's you flow through the space bar to split up words instead of lifting your finger.

Htc sense like keyboard for CM7 (Q)

I have seached every where to find a keyboard like the sense one that comes stock for evo to run on CM7. I have found the htc_ime kitchen which is pretty close but they dont have the arrow buttons to move the cursor.
Anyone have any idea where i can get a keyboard with arrow buttons to move the cursor for CM7?
The arrows are Sense only, I think. Some of the 3rd party keyboards may have the arrows, though.
However, I use the HTC_IME keyboard in CM7/MIUI with no issues. You can set the volume rocker keys to move the cursor back and forth.

I will dig this, because there's no still any IME mod with cursor keys, and I believe it can be done, we just need gingerbread base for this one, not the foryo's, and maybe more, I don't know, but it should be possible. There are much more ppl who will use it.
By the way, "swipe" actions allow to move a word back and forth. It's not the same, but may ease your life.

Again, Swiftkey X is worse. I see no other Swiftkeys in the market. By the way, Swiftkey is not free. Sense is... I had it on my phone as a factory default, so not discussing the licensing too deeply, it's like it would be free ;>. I just would like HTC DHD IME ported to CM7, or something very, very similar in the layout and features.

Just out of curiosity, what don't you like about swiftkey? I've tried out just about every keyboard there is over the last few years and I keep coming back to swiftkey x. The customizations, themes and predictions are top notch imo.

Layout is worse. Some functions are not present (don't remember which ones, tested quite a few weeks ago). It's not free, it's a trial only which will stop working at some point leaving a user which used to it with a choice of paying or getting used to another - not worth of the time if you won't like it, if you will, then it's just a luck. It would be much better to make featureless free version than time limited trial (called "free" in the market by the way - not very polite to lie...)

To each their own, I suppose. I find that the location of the comma and period on the main screen (without having to long press or go to a page 2) makes this one of the best layouts out there.

If you are looking for another option outside of sense, I've been running Decks reloaded for a few weeks now and it is awesome. I've had trouble with CM being buggy in the past, and I get bored on sense roms but this sucker is slick and FAST. I've been flashing roms on this baby for nearly 2 years now and this is by far the fastest and most stable rom I have ever run:

Hey,
Whats the Best keyboard app for SGSII?

I prefer the standard Gingerbread keyboard. You can download it from the Android Market. Once you use it for a good period of time, you get used to it.

I would be interested in new keyboard .. but I don't want any prediction. I want nice layout portrait and landscape, perfect reaction time. Customizable layout would be sweet, as so far, nothing really fits my needs.
Edit: looks like Smart Keyboard is going to cut it for me ! Lots of customization .. and some neat Czech options ..
Swiftkey X. My typing is TERRIBLE but it has fantastic auto-correction, so now I never have to worry about typos.

+1 for SwiftKey X
and also this is what I like about this keyboard:
- great prediction and auto completion,
- simultaneous use of different languages so don't have to remember to change language like in swype
- It can even predict little town names (at least in UK) and start them with capital letters.
- when you want to come back to previous words, you can still use dictionary, it doesn't treat them as a bunch of single letters but as a word.
It was my best buy from the market.

Well... That's very nice. I'll have to give that keyboard a try.
Edit: Predictions are excellent, I've got to say. Very nice keyboard.
And having two languages at the same time is killer
I'm using Swype. Couldn't stand Swiftkey because it kept predicting the wrong words for me.
That said, I do love the latest Swype with prediction.

The latest beta 3.26 is the best one yet. Get's my vote by far, and I've bought other keyboards. Excellent multi-language support and editable dictionary, gestures, etc. It's getting to be amazing.

Anyone have an installable Swype keyboard from Gingerbread or ICS 4.0.3 to share?

Greetings all, sold my S2 yesterday and picked up an S3 and the samsung keyboard is driving me up a wall and I miss Swype! If I can get ahold of the apk I'd install it in a heartbeat! Anyone else feel it was a superior keyboard to the one samsung gave us on the S3?

I agree
You know, xda isn't the only site on the web. If you have a question like this, chances are that Google will have the answer.
...but there is a catch: if you post something on Disqus-based blogs, you may notice something awful; this also happens on my Galaxy Tab Plus. Strangely, Swype works fine with Galaxy Nexus.
I suspect there's something happening with Touchwiz, Swype, and Disqus.
ok you guys themed versions of swype and actually just swype by itself is not allowed to be distributed on xda. If its in a stock rom thats ok if it came with the manufacturer to begin with. This is from swype themselves and we just enforce it

[APP] SwiftKey Flow BETA APK

Finally here! Swifykey Flow - swype style typing with much better prediction, more function, beauty and intuition.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/jy192v5qrj7hqfg/com.touchtype.swiftkey.phone.flow.obeta_4.0.0.54.apk
Enjoy!
I love the fact that you can swype entire sentences now.. you just have to swype down to the space bar in order to go to the next word. VERY cool. The only gripe I have at the moment is the animation for typing single letters at a time. It doesn't really show the entire pop up animation, and when it does it's a little quirky. The whole point of flow is the gestures, so not really a big deal!
Yeah, it's got a few quirks. I also found it will only allow tap typing in certain fields. So far I'm loving it.
I try everything passible and can't get to pass downloading linguage (english US). Any idea?
Edit: never mind.. i uninstall and reinstall app and everything is good..
Seems pretty good so far. I've been using Swype for years, as long as I've had Android phones. Recently tried Swiftkey because I was curious about the next-word prediction, but I couldn't NOT be able to swype. So this is the best of both worlds.
Just waiting for them to enable it in all fields (hopefully) and also hope they improve the editing of predicted words (click anywhere in a word to get other options, more than 2 alternatives would be nice as well).
Been waiting for this for a while now. Using it to type this right now! I love swype and SwiftKey and I'm hoping this is the best of both worlds. It's definitely not prefect yet, they need to work out how to edit the predictions instead just predicting the next right away. But I guess that's kind of the best part of SwiftKey so they need to figure that out!
Thanks alot fit for posting this though!

Lg g3 Keyboard just unusable

Is it just me or does everyone else agree that the stock keyboard is unusable. Simple texts or emails take 5 times longer then just using the android keyboard. Its horrible. Horrible prediction and does actions I never even ask it to do. Haven't even got to the lag!!! I know there is a mod to fix the lag but I don't think it does much. Anyone else dealing with this?? Anything I can do?
I can't say I agree. The keyboard on the LG G3 has to be one of the best I have ever used. Very close to the one on the iPhone in terms of responsivenss, pretty much no lag and the predictions are quite good.
Have you tried the advanced settings for the keyboard?
The only issue I have with it is not inserting spaces as I'm swiping.
Tbh i love it. Its really great.
What lag are you talking about thats because of the LG keyboard?
For me the keyboard is very fast and the prediction is perfect. It looks good aswell and is very customizable.
It's just you the stock key board is one of the first I have not had or wanted to change soon at I turned the phone on
First stock keyboard that hasn't made me switch to swiftkey... Yet anyway
Glad I noticed this post. I had automatically installed swiftkey and turned it off for a while to see if I liked the LG keyboard. It seams very responsive and easy to use. I love the way you can increase the size of the keyboard.
Yeah the keyboard is pretty bad.
I used it for 1 month straight and was too tired of its errors. I didn't see any lag with it but things like swiping to "is" and getting "it's" drove me nuts and wasted a ton of time correcting. Far too many of these types of errors.
Back to Swype and it works perfect as always.
I like it at first but now reverted back to the Google Keyboard. I find the predictive not that good, say you wanted totype "Ship" it would automatically correct it to "Shop". Any word typed that is not in the dictionary it replaces with one that is, its trying to be too clever.
But the biggest problem is I get this bug where I can only type numbers.
There are good things about this keyboard, numbers shown on top row and excellent spacing of keys.
