Please NO FLAMING ROMS OR DEVELOPERS. They do this for free, so keep that in mind.

I know it's incredibly early since the phone has only been out for about a month and most are stock-based...but if people keep posting updates and features they love on their FAVORITE ROM, it can give better insight on which ROM to choose and possibly remove some spam from development forums. Which is stable? Which has FC and etc. Thanks! (And if you want, post about your favorite kernel in the future!)

I am currently running wanam's 1.1 version of his stock-based ROM. Been running it for 2 days and has felt much smoother and battery friendly than stock! ATT and Samsung apps are flashable later through CWM which like. LOVE this ROM. Only known issue that I have seen is the 1080p recording for the camera. It does record in 720p though. Thanks!

The only reason I ever want to flash my phone is to get aosp. So I say cm10 and aokp are the best. Don't really see a point in flashing stock based roms.

I ran CM !0 for a few days but I used a Mac and MTP doesn't work so its a bit of a deal breaker for me, but in all fairness its Extremely stable to be an Alpha build. My first android phone was the G1 and then on to the Nexus One so i'm a sucker for AOSP based android roms and for Cyanogen Mod in general so ill be running it when the MTP gets sorted out on my Mac.
I tried Wanams rom, I remember him from my SGS2, Hes a great Dev & its really stable as well.
The best all around so far for me is AndroidUser00110001's Rom linked below. I've found the wifi disconnect problem that i was having with the other TW Roms is gone and it has had the best over all balance of performance and stability.

When it comes to battery life there literally is none better, he did a fantastic job with his ROM. It takes a performance hit at times but its to be expected.
Overall, AOKP has everything I want, sans killer battery life

I have looked at it, and the one I have installed on my phone even has the Aurora designation I intend to use if I publicly release a rom for this phone, so we will see.
Also, son of a *****, godaddy didn't auto-renew my domain. Guess I will need a new one.
A buddy of mine just got the S3 and isn't into the touchwiz and nature theme. He just got the phone yesterday so I've been looking for the best custom rom with everything working. Any suggestions? I know it's early in the game and I might be asking too much. I've been searching and haven't been able to find much. Thank you for any suggestions.

I used Aura on my Atrix for the longest time. I like the stability of kyan's ROM. I just know the layout and I like the dandelion/water unlock screen LOL. I liked CM10 and had no issues. I plan on trying AOKP tonight. I like the drop down 15 toggles mainly because they are quick to get to and turn on and off like torch and brightness modes.

Definitely AOKP. Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean versions are awesome. I've yet to find any bugs that keep it from being a daily driver. In fact I've found none. But I haven't used it that in depth much, we shall see.
But I put my vote in for AOKP. By far the best, and I only flash for AOSP based ROMs anyways. :good:

From my experiences I remember the meaning of the "CUSTOM" rom.
It's MUCH BETTER THAN stock ! Come one dude "Cyanogen", "MIUI" etc.
I felt the difference before and after on many phones.
With N2 everything has changed a bit.
I agree the stock rom are better now than most of custom roms here.
Example: Im using Stock Wanam Deodex Rom (almost out touch rom.) What I did I just maximum deblaoted it.
And this stock rom working MUCH more better and faster and smoother than many custom roms here. Example OMEGA. (No offence ! this is purely my opinion)
Why it happening ?
So many developers love to add 3 years old build prop lines. Too old tweaks also are here. Come one why using stuff from HTC ? WTF was that "Enabled GPU UI rendering"???? JellyB has it from birth that !
And Im fine with that ! But NO DIFFERENCE BRO! not smoother, not faster. Ok maybe benchs is better ? But no it's lower ! Windows animation lags more than on stock rom.
And is nothing to explain about. People will get pissed.(when you tell the truth) If you just got your first android device and you have no experiences (NO CLUE) with that you will say it's faster ! But when you coming from G1 and you got 2-N2. 2-GS3 than you will see the difference between before and after and is nothing to talk about it.
Samsung did sick job with the N2 JB firmware. It's been optimized up to normal and we filling that from ANY corner !
Stop implanting stupid lines like "scrolling catch disabled" if you say yourself that it does not work.
Only best regards

Hard to understand how somebody would not root the Note II. For any design changes or debloating you need root....and its so easily done.

Alright so we got our jelly bean update and so far all the stock based custom ROMs are stable from the most part, mod have been added for speed tweaks and battery life. So far so good. Now what? Lol what do we do in the meantime? Just find mods and see what people would like and see if they can be implemented in ROMs? I've flashed almost everything and TW on every ROM is stable if the source was official JB for t999. The AOSP ROMs are stable for the most part with very minor things not working. Kernels have squeezed as much performance from the board of this phone as much as possible (don't expect any kernel to bring you 7000+ on quadrant). So what now? The o my progress that's happening mostly is getting aosp 4.2 on this by tw is descent in my opinion. What will you guys be doing in the meantime? Look at other threads and find mods?

It's refreshing not having to keep up with the grind every now and then. Especially with the holidays upon us, time is scarce and free time is better spent doing other things than dealing with crackflashing habits.
Exactly. What now is what annoys me about xda. It makes it seem like people don't actually enjoy their phone. I actually found xda by mistake back she. I had a vibrant. I actually left for a while because I was pretty much the same way. Flashing and reseting y phone pretty much daily trying out new ROMs. When things got stable I asked the same question as op. Realized I never actually used my phone. I don't root very much but come here for advice and for new news. I've tried flashing roms but I actually use my phone and have a life to live. Be happy things are stable. That's my advice. Its an addiction.

Lol actually, i do use my phone. Back when we had ICS, there was jelly bean but i kept going back and fourth between jelly bean AOSP and stock TW ics. found that TW was solid but had a few issues with Bluetooth which i used with my Bluetooth headsets. So I was on AOSP and back and fourth. I have been on JB TW since it dropped and haven't flashed since. lol so i guess im just adjusting to not flashing weekly. But even when flashing, i would use my phone pretty often. for now, im going to just stay here, add the mods that i want, and look for the ones i need (skip track with volume rocker w/ screen off) and then i will delete the app from my phone and come here every 2 weeks.
Now we wait for 4.1.2 so we can get multi view like the note 2.
Other than that, most of us will have moved on to SGS4 by the time the S3 gets 4.2.

I thankfully got this out of my system back with my Vibrant. At some point I just realized that I was doing... Nothing with my phone. I'd switch out ROMs and the like, but ultimately.. I just went back to stock with a custom kernel and a few tweaks for speed and performance. But mostly had it set to spiffy fast and ultra usable.
I've done the same with my GS3. I didn't care much for the ROMs I have seen out there, so went back to stock. Now I have Jelly Bean on here, with a custom kernel and rooted. Got it running outrageously smooth and fast. What more do I need? My phone is as good as it is going to get until 4.2 and hopefully whatever comes after that.
So I use it. I show it off to people. I achieve great computing and processing needs when out and about. I like my phone. I don't need anything more out of it than what I got.
I just hang out at XDA for if anything new ( feature, app, etc. ) comes out that seems neat, if an error crops up, or quick fixes.

I am on JB touchwiz and i am running the 4.2 without any issues at all. You need to make sure you uncheck the location tagging option when installing it. The photosphere feature is fantastic and have all my Crapple user friends drooling over it, also the new gallery is better as well. I have the new 4.2 keyboard but prefer swype and the new google calendar. LOL.
To clarify, I am running both, stock camera and 4.2 camera with no problem.

I dispute the existence of such a thing, but suit yourself...
If I were you, and I'm reading correctly that your phone is currently running ICS, I'd start with stock Jelly Bean; you can grab a rooted stock image here. Since I'm not running a TW ROM presently, I can't really suggest what might be good beyond that; I'll take the opportunity, though, to point out the KT747 kernel (which I'm currently running) available in several different flavours for AOSP and TW alike; configured properly, it's consistently been a performance and battery life boost for me.
Realistically, it's probably best to poke around for yourself and see what works best for you; there's a lot of development effort going towards this device right now, and there's something for everyone.

Well I know which one I'm going to try first, but an 'Is is worth it' I think is easy to answer. Everyone can tell that there is too much lag or lack of response to be useable. That is what I was asking. See, I was told by my manufacturer that my Rezound was not capable of running Jelly Bean (Which is a lie, because I am running it), and the Incredible has much lower specs.
Anyways, I'm sure I'm going to try it. I was just seeing if anyone else had, had they experienced a miserable time at it. Not looking for suggestions.
There is a bit of lag since the inc is not meant to run JB. It can obviously, but it's not meant to. Not a lot of lag, but it is there, and the features of JB outweigh the lag for most. Most inc power users, I'd wager, are running some version of JB as a daily driver, including me. The main ones who don't use JB are the ones that need the video camera to work.
In summary: if you don't need the video camera to work perfectly, yes it's worth it.
I am running Tiny's cm10.1 and it is running very good just WiFi and camera and some crazy things lol

Well from what I read, you're like a god here, Tiny from all the amazing work you have done, and are doing, especially with the dinc. Please forgive my very amaturish remarks!
