His guys I'm fairly new to XDA. I just recently bought a DOCOMO LG L-01E OPTIMUS G and was wondering about the development for the LG Optimus G Amercian versions and what not, will custom recovery and root be coming to the Japan version thru XDA? How about custom Roms? Will Amercian versions work with this Japan version? I hope so, I don't mind it stock since it is a fast phone but custom Roms are addicting lol. Thanks for your replies.
Given the paucity of development for this phone, I would caution against transplanting non-stock rom lest you might end up bricking it. Unfortunately there is no news on 4.1 stock for it yet.

Hello XDA-Developers, I've been searching for an update for my LG p698. I found some but unfortunately, it's not specifically for the p698. They we're like for p990, Optimus 3D like that and any other higher version.
I just wanted to know if I could use those roms on my phone. I really wanted to upgrade from my GingerBread into jellybean or icecream sandwich.
It would be much better if a custom rom specially for p698.

One more. I just read a thread about how to overclock android phones. It says that I should have a kernel that is compatible on my phone.
Any suggestions.
Thank you in advance. )
I'm new in this forum btw ^_^

Hello everybody, i wanna buy an Optimus G and i looked for if there were some ROMs and i only saw the cyanogen nightly version. Do you think if now, when the mobile was released in europe it will have more custom ROMs?
Thank you.
the phone is released in europe and we have all roms we need
CM, AOKP, VanillaBox, AvatarROM, ...
Liquid smooth, xylon, aosp, stock debloated...
If you read through the 3 dev forums in here, or any of the dev forums for the US variants, there's lots of development going on.

Hi I have a korean LG optimus g Pro LG F240S. the screen and everything is very good but the software has a lot of carrier crap. Can some developer please build a international firmware CWM image or otherwise. Would make this phone the best phone out there. Some AOSP ROMS will just be great.

The most carrier crap can be disabled by application settings, services can be stopped as stated here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292012, so you'll get almost debloated and fast phone
Do you think we'll have cyanogenmod rom for this phone?
It all depends on unlocking the bootloader

Hello,
I am a new user of android phone.I recently purchased LG Optimus G Model # F180L20P with jelly bean 4.1.2. My problem is that when i click on Check For Update, it says updates available. I downloaded the updates but when it try to install an error 0x13B comes.I also want to know about F180L version because there is no model on LG site. I also want to know that if i want to shift on jellybean 4.3,what will i do?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
The F180L model is a Korean phone, branded to the LG U+ service carrier in South Korea. You may be getting the update error if your device is rooted. Instead of using the OTA update method, connect your device to a PC and use the LG firmware update software available here:

hello there!
in the case of changing your Android version from 4.1.2, we have two options.
first is to wait for LG to actually rollout a 4.3 update. that is, an official upgrade from LG.
second is to flash a custom ROM. i am not aware if the OG already has android 4.3 Roms, but you can check the site. just take note that the most Roms in the Optimus G section are based on AOSP/AOPK/CM. that is, they look like vanilla android and doesn't have the LG stock UI...
hope this helps a bit.

Thanks a lot. Will you refer me to any tutorial which gives me complete knowledge of android including what is rooting e.t.c. Why this model is not present on LG website?
I just got the the phone yesterday and love it! I rooted, unlocked and installed recover no problem. Installed CM10.2 with no issues.
In searching for a stock LG Optimus G Pro type, I found one on the development thread that installs through a backup process. I tried that and it isnt quit what I am looking for.
Is there a ROM that is flashable through recovery that is pretty much the stock version of what comes with the LG Optimus G Pro?
