<<EDIT>> Chainfire does some awesome app development. You could PM him here on XDA for compatibility. I think he has a Note2 now or is able to give you a feel for how it will work, as that is a paid app.
OTG works fine from a OTG Cable and from Juiced Systems 4-in-1. I've used it for media transfer from my USB flash. Sadly the 4-in-1 will not charge the SGN2 in any case (attached to power, with/without flash memory attached) as it is stated to do for S2.
I'm still testing external USB hub / mouse / keyboard / USB HDD abilities, but all looks very nicely implemented.
I hope to get the desktop dock which would combine concurrent use of:
Charging
OTG usb devices (x3)
Audio output to powered amp
HDMI output to large video display.
Nice. Thanks for the info.

Also found out my wife's ccd barcode scanner works! Sure we have the camera, but if you're using it to input a crap ton of asset tag numbers into an excel spreadsheet, or web based app, that doesn't work so well.

Paired my Logitech DiNovo Mini with my Xoom on 3.1, and both mouse and keyboard in it work perfectly. It is just the right size for getting some work done, though the mouse could use a bit more acceleration
All in all, a great little accessory - next step is to make a charger cable for USB so I can leave the DiNovo adapter at home.

Captivate always on mikey's latest wonder, whether Serendipity or GR-11
I'm uploading a youtube video but will describe my findings with my DiNovo Mini:
- It's responsive enough for government work
- Home is FN-e (explorer)
- Volume Up and Down buttons work
- Rewind, Stop, Play/Pause and Fast Forward all work
- Page Up and Page Down work great in a browser
- Mouse control is great in an RDP client connected to a windows box: I will put my foot in my mouth on this one. This functionality alone enables all levels of professionals to hit the field knowing they can have dependable RDP support and also have the precision and control of a mouse while using the tablet. I could see a doctor carrying this from room to room with a little dinovo mini, setting it down and entering in patient information all while keeping his own equipment secure. The uses are endless.
Here ya go check it out:

I have a similar setup and I also swear by PocketCloud.
Out of curiosity since you guys are Pocketcloud users. I just set it up for the first time (thanks for bringing it to my attention!) and was wondering if you guys know if it supports multiple monitor setups? I run 3 mobitors on my main PC and would love to be able to switch between monitors. Is LogMeIn ignition my best bet?
Thanks!

When used in RDP mode I can tell you that it will not. All desktops get squashed into one. VNC mode may be different.

Hello!
As you may have noticed, some Kindle Fire ROMs have a Camera app built into them. Normally, this app is useless. I was thinking about this the other day and an idea occured to me. Would it be possible to plug in a USB webcam into the Fire via a USB OTG cable and have it be able to take pictures with the Camera app? Don't know if this is possible or not, just thought I'd ask. Thanks!
I'm fairly certain that this is impossible.
Feel free to try it if you like though.

Ah thats too bad. Would be awesome if this was possible.
Should be possible.....but I am not sure. As long as it is a webcam for Android devices....and it uses Micro-USB....It should work. Probably depends on your ROM.
i bought a Micro USB OTG to USB 2.0 Adapter and i used a standard usb webcam to used skype, on twi_priv sgt7 jellybean rom, and it works!!!

Was at best buy for 2 hours yesterday. Nobody could figure out how to get my g pro connected to a tv. G pro isnt mhl compatible either. This has to be a joke. I called lg. They said it connects wirelessly but only with a smart tv. Tell me this isnt true.
G Pro isn't compatible with MHL, and TV out will work only with a SlimPort adapter.
miracast
It is compatible with miracast... that's a pretty popular standard.

Success at last. The adapter has arrived after 30 days and it works as promised.
Things I like about this adapter:
1. No lag like MHL adapters.
2. No dedicated power requirements (you don't need to plug your phone into power for the output to work)
3. full 1080p with great color and sound

I also have a Slimport adapter (slightly different model from yours) working with my Optimus G Pro, and had a quick question for you regarding a comparison observation.
If I connect my OGP to my 1080p HDMI monitor and miror the screen, I can then play videos either through the stock player or a third party one like MX Pllayer fine, no noticeable lag or stutter as you mention above. It plays smoothly on both the device and large screen at the same time.
However.. if I select and launch the stock Video Player first (rather than the video file itself through file manager etc), and then load the video file that way through its app interface, it will give the message "Video is now playing on the external screen", and indeed it sends the video feed to the monitor while leaving me free to do other things on the phone like web browse or whatever, while the video continues playing on the monitor. So it maintains two different independent screens - one on the phone and one on the external monotor - rather than mirroring the two identically. Great feature.. except that in this mode the video shown on the monitor lags and stutters quite noticably, and plays at a far lower framerate than it does when just mirroring. I'm using the same video file in both cases to test, and the results are very different depending on mode used.
Can you confirm whether this is your experience as well? Pick a video file on your phone, andf first load it through file manager, selecting the stock video player when it asks you what to play it with. That should give you regular screen mirror mode. Then close down and exit, and instead load the video player first, and from within its interface select the same file to be played, which should produce the external/second screen mode as described above. Do you notice a very obvious difference in framerate/playback between the two modes?
If not, I may have to try your version of the Slimport adapter....
Thanks!

Also using a mouse on a phone is much better than all the swiping involved..imho.
I think I can post links after 10 posts,

So all I wanna do is be able to use a mhl HDMI-type c adapter to mirror my z2 too much pioneer radio [emoji16] seems that all the talk is out of the box this phone will only cast/mirror with chrome cast . Then I heard can edit a line in build prop to get it to work .
What's my work around to get what I need working.
Using a HDMI -rca av converter cable and need a mhl adapter to mirror to my head unit .
But like mentioned in hopes there is a fix with the build prop that will enable mhl.
Anyone chime in or confirm?
And if so what do I need to edit .
Or do I need to ditch this phone that I love so much over a galaxy .
Unfortunately I prefer to use mirroring a little more for leisure needs watching show box...Netflix etc... In car on the touch screen over not having a device that can cast .

Enabling MiraCast via build.prop on rooted phones is a regular thing, but enabling HDMI, that would be intresting.
If you're desperate for the HDMI, you can buy the MDK (Moto Mod development kit) around 130 Euro/USD and it has SlimPort on it (I'm using it occassionally as improvised DEX )

I have come up with nothing from Moto on whether the hardware can support USB C to HDMI or not, but I sure could use the wired functionality for use with AR glasses / no lag. Has anyone successfully enabled MHL on a Z or Z2 (or Z3)?

Sry, I seem to have expressed my concern incorrectly. I get the usb port #3 to work with ease. Display output is working fine. My problem is with the usb port #2, which i want to use in usb3(.1?) mode, which is not working for me with the github repos right now.
