Things I have tried :
Uninstalled any apps that may keep the phone from sleeping
Uninstalled apps using led notifications
Turned off motion in settings
Turned off all lockscreen options such as weather, information ticker, owner info
Kept eye on better battery stats : stats attached below
Screen off timing set 1 minute
Phone on 3g only data on always
Messages : cell broadcast off
Service messages off
Disabled fast dormancy
Stock rooted lj3
Stock kernel
Mods installed : 4.2 camera and gallery

Custom notification pulldown drawer image
Sgs loudness hack
Started happening after I tried red-pill kernel
Didnt like so flashed back stock boot from backup

How can I find out what it is?
Could that just be phone idle?
But why would it be awake so much when i'm not using it?

Try CPU Spy. That's what I use to show what percent of time the phone was in Deep Sleep for. It doesn't tell you what apps have caused you to wake from Deep Sleep, but should give you better figures
You seem to have poor reception. Maybe its the phone switching from 2G to 3G or switching towers?
I had wake issues on firmware 2.3.3 where the phone would be awake for up to 90% of the time, 2.3.4 seems to have fixed it.
could be apps syncing data in the background?
empty the dalvik cache folder and restart your phone......let the phone setup the cache for each app again .
i was having very bad battery life .. its like just 2hrs off gaming and 5 hrs normal use plus
my message tone use to rang and notification bars shows nothing ... noww ALL is WEll "D
As the title says does anyone else have this issue with their GNex...I have the HSPA+ version on AOKP Build 21 with Franco Kernel 14.4 but whenever i have wifi connected and the screen shuts off...the connection gets super slow/shuts off even tho it still says on the phone its connected...Also i have the wifi sleep policy set to always on...but it still exhibits this behavior...only fix for it is to turn the screen on and then it ramps back up to normal speeds/useable...Case in point using Airdroid/Wifi Explorer Pro to transfer files...if you leave the screen on the transfer completes as it should however turn the screen off and watch the transfer slow to a crawl/fail..not sure if roms/kernels affect this but its rather annoying having to keep the screen on for this..im not sure if i'm the only one with this problem...if not lets find a fix.
Do you have power saver enabled in rom control?

I am having the same problem using AOKP w/ lean kernel. I am not using power saver and have my wifi set to always stay on and my speeds still slow way down. I have also used set cpu to keep my clock speeds high when the screen is off and get the same results. A fix would be nice!
Hello everyone,

But when the wifi does successfully turn on, it cant find any networks, it just keeps on scanning.
Please help.
Some additional information
Rom: Stock SG Ace 2x (GT-S7560M)
Phone is rooted.
I've tried everything I know that might have fixed the problem...this means factory reset (data/cache wipe), reflashing the stock rom and turning the phone off and removing the battery for a few minutes.
Update: This morning, I turned the phone off and took the battery out and left it like that for around 14 hours and when I put the battery back in the wifi was able to see networks and connect for approx 15 seconds, then it turned off again. Halp please..
I noticed that removing the battery for prolonged period of time would return the wifi to a functional state for at least 1 minute before all the networks disappear and it cant connect to the wifi again.. what do you think this means??
Hi,
I have a problem with my G5S recently. I had already sent it to a service center because of this, but Moto's Partner for repairs in Germany is horribly incompetent, so it came back with the same issues still occuring.
I think the whole thing began with a restart by holding power for 10 seconds some weeks ago. Later that day I noticed the infrared sensor on the phone's back to glow permanently red, much brighter than normal. It is the one left to the camera. This is even the case if I power down the phone, only with 0 battery the sensor goes off until I recharge.
With this sensor bug comes a massive battery drain, the phone never seems to go into deep sleep mode, the battery stats in the settings show a ongoing bar under active time. I made some screenshots of GSam Battery Monitor, maybe someone can tell me how to stop the process which holds the device active. The phone has no root or any modification by the way.
Thanks!

Hi,
Is there way to disable the notifications of the battery charging when screen is off.
Don't like this option at night.
I attached a picture of the text I am talking. But when the screen is all black.
Best regards

None yet, as far as I know. Hopefully Sam will either remove it or give you the option of turning the freakin' display off with the next update.
It's crazy that turning off AOD doesn't disable that.

My workaround is using this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ccswe.appmanager.samsung
You just need to disable AOD service and that's it.
Enable it after charging is completed and thats it.
Its like 10 seconds of work before putting the phone on charger.
Little power
It uses little power and it's not static so not an issue of any consequence.
I use the Goodlock apps to change it's color and clock style.
Normally it always is running; it's very useful for me.
About a 1% per hour battery drain when running with clock.
You can also manually set it's brightness to the lowest level but it won't be visible except at night.
Turning off AOC should leave you with a completely blank off screen (no screen lock is set on my phone though).
