I'm rooted, stock odex jellybean lj7, no mods. I noticed that whenever I delete one of my sms/mms threads, a blank 'place holder' thread will show back up afterwards even though there are zero messages. If I delete them all then they will all disappear.
I did a clean install so idk if it's that. I assumed it was sms backup and restore or my backup root because it happened before with one of those two programs. So I tried to duplicate it again with those programs removed and got the same results. I also use ChompSMS and I thought it was because of that so, just like the others, I tried to duplicate it with the app removed and it still happened.
I've tried wiping the data of the MMS.apk, restarting, powering off and powering back on, wiping cache and dalvik cache but to no avail.
I don't understand what's going on. It's annoying and I don't want to clean install everything again. I'll try to include the screen shots. I can delete the place holder messages if the only messages in the box are place holders and not real text.

Update
I fixed it by going to a nandroid I had made before factory resetting the setup. Idk how a factory reset could bork the stock MMS.apk like that but evidently it did as I didn't change anything.

well my buddy has his evo with the Sprint lovers rom on it. Randomly the mms messages he gets wont download. I thought maybe its a data issue and had him try and update the data profile and prl while at it.
Well the PRL worked however the Data profile, when selected, opens an all black screen and sits there. I have seen other fix doing a full wipe and re installing from scratch, however he was trying to avoid a full wipe since he doesn't have his apps backed up and is adamant about backing up texts for some reason.( He is leaving town so I was trying to Quick fix this before he did)
here is his software info and PRL etc.

So far I have tried, Updating to a stock rooted GB rom, radios, and stock GB kernel and that didnt work.
Restored his backup i made at the initial fix attempts here and then reflashed Sprint lovers and Netarchy 4.3.4 cfs kernel back on. That didnt work.
Is the only way to fix this a full wipe and fresh start and restoring app backups and text backups?
Thanks in advance XDA!!

Hi all,
I somehow managed to get my Market List app to get messed up.
It now does not display any apps!
I've tried a few suggestions from here and other sites. but none work.
This is my last resort before doing a full factory reset.
One thing that seemed to work from the suggestions was to clear out the Framework cache. I did that and the apps were listed then but as soon as I downloaded anything from the Market, I would end up with the same problem, all of the apps would go missing.
One thing I discovered with this issue, is that most people don't really understand the issue. So I posted a screen shot of what it looks like and then some users understood and said 'wow, never seen that before' and suggested I post the question here with the screen shot to make it clear what the problem is.
So here is the screen shot!

Did you change your dpi? Has the market ever worked?
Also you might want to wipe and sign back into google, and yea clear market data and cache, flash another ROM.
Edit: just saw this too

I've been trying to send some pictures to myself and it they just... won't. It sits there saying Sending forever. They're not large pictures or anything. I had this happen last night and when I woke up they had eventually sent.
Happening over 3G and LTE, tried cycling airplane mode, rebooting, etc... when I go to Accounts and Sync, it shows a sync icon next to Gmail but its not spinning. I can uncheck and check it again and it spins for a moment, then stops without completing.
Oh, and running AOKP b38 with francokernel.
Any ideas?

Yep had the same issue tried to send screenshots to a dev from app....I dint resolve it... Sent from my computer instead.
Its a pain but just clear cache on gmail then force stop it. Then clear data. You will have to resetup the settings withing gmail but this should fix you up. Happenes to me. Once in a while, but a data clear always works. Maybe it will work for you.

Just tried it. it is working I sent some pics.
Try reinstalling Gmail app and deleting your acc and create it again
Guys I am at a complete loss as to what might be causing this. I have searched for 2 days researching what could be causing this.
Things I have done to attempt to resolve:
1. "Placebo" clearing battery stats.
2. Charging phone to full, draining it till it was at 5%. Then rinse and repeat 3 times now atleast.
3. Frozen any apps I dont use, including many system apps.
4. Trying multiple different firmwares (all 4.2.2 so far mind you...)
5. Fixing permissions in recovery.
*Note - each firmware flash was a clean flash. No data/cache or apps aka Factory defaults.
I dont use any apps to mass-restore my previous apps or restore previous backups in recovery.
*I am rooted. Have the dual recovery and I have a locked bootloader.
Help please

Hey everyone,
I have a very annoying issue. It seems like I messed up with lockscreen settings and now the phone is crashing at the very beginning of OS boot, a FC message constantly pops up every 3 secs or so and the status bar is missing. A process called "com.android.systemui" keeps closing and won't let me do anything with the phone.

The home page of Nova launcher is shown but the devices behaves as if it is on lockscreen, but I can't unlock it open. Nothing on homescreen can be pressed\launched as the phone is "locked" and only volume up\down, short\long press home\back (lockscreen actions if predefined) and reset would work. I can't just wipe\factory reset yet as I have some important stuff should be backed up before.
Obviously if I Nandroid then restore - this will restore back this conflict as well. I have a very early working backup stage of the same ROM but it does not include all my customization and all apps installed later on.
I need a way to backup all apps+data and settings, SMS, etc. without the need to "touch" the OS - Titanium backup would absolutely have no use here for me nor others like.
Perhaps I can modify the Nandroid backup file and tell it which apps to (de)install?
Any advice before I reset this device?
Anybody?
Please, it's really urgent!
